  1. cigs -where you located?
  2. just my 2 cents worth. Alot of the people which will be attending this show will be very "seasoned" anglers. With that being said, most have their own preference for bead color combo's, hook style's, and line size/style (flouro.,lb test etc.) so i would guess that unrigged would be more popular at this event overall. Just a suggestioned - you may want to have harnesses rigged up seperatley to sell?
  3. I think the hottest tackle is going to be -whatever they hit that day Seriously alot of the same stuff works year in and year out. Same color's just maybe a variation on the pattern. If you gotta buy something "new" look for new stuff out on the market...new color combo or different size. The only TACKLE that i have purchased this winter that are going to be hot are a ton of ITO 6" and 4" flies. yes every manufactor has flies but the color combos ITO has are unreal. The color combo's are all proven fish killers but every pattern has a slight "tweak" to make them stand out over other flies. check them out online http://www.itoflies.com or at the upcoming LOTSA show. Other than that stock up on the NBK's, wonderbreads, and all the other go too's
  4. Rods, antennas and even the outriggers are not a problem - i can take them down..... it's the flybridge/tuna tower that is gonna be the issue. I will call the yatch club about a dock if not i"m gonna anchor across the mouth so nobody can leave the creek
  5. Thanks Carpedium. two questions .....1) what is the clearance under the parkway bridge, on average wondering if boat will fit under bridge and 2) where is there slips on the north side? thanks in advance
  6. littletom, adding to my prior post. 1. Black or clear dipsey's as stated by others work great. I run clear on port and black on startboard. Other color dipsey's work but i want the fish looking at my lure not the dipsey color. Personal choice. 2. When spooling wire onto a reel - no matter how you choose to do it -keep tight/consent pressure between reel and spool of wire. Like fighting a fish -line goes slack-fish off-wire goes slack-kink 3. I do a wrap of electrical tape around my reel spool before filling up with wire- this does to things protects the reel spool from scratches/grooves from the wire and also gives the wire something to "grab" during the first couple of cranks while filling. 4. If you are NOT running a roller rod you can add 20-30' of flouro or mono to the end of the wire (at dipsey connetion end). I run 40 lb flouro. This does alot - A) acts as a shock absorber like a dipsey snubber B) alot more forgiving when mono is slamming around the deck with a fish in the net (no chances of kinks) and c) you can also use a slide diver set up instead of just a dipsey on your wires. I have 2 wire roller rods and 2 twili wire rods and both twili's are set up this way 5. not mentioned thus far any very important is when running wire keep the drag loose - just enough to keep from creeping out while trolling As for the mystery wire used in rochester - for what its worth.....i heard thru the grapevine/little birdy that it's the torpedo smoke wire hope this helps
  7. damn yankee - getting a rply or two a day until you posted
  8. rules, entry fee, payout/prize structure...where can we go for info. and/or register?
  9. yankee- took LOL still taking but i'm like herpies i keep coming back
  10. littletom, first welcome to LOU. I am not sure what area you are in or where you are located but I will help you out and show you whatever you wanna know. I have helped alot of members off this board before and will continue in the future. I have even taken people out on my boat and showed them stuff in the past. This board has ALOT of great anglers and must of them are like myself and will help you out with anything. if you are still interested in a wire set up - i have one that i will sell you cheap. just pm me for details. As for running wire and/or copper stop by the marina where i am dock after the boat goes in end of March and i will show you abunch of tips/tricks and my set ups. plus answer whatever you want. As for wire choice alot of good manufactors oput there- comes down to personal choice. From experience darker colored wire seems to get more fish than the SS or "chrome" stuff." Roller rods are great for wire but can be costly and somewhat overkill for someone just getting started...if you got the cash go for them but a good dipsey rod with twili tip will do 1000's of fish also. i think i covered everything you asked....
  11. yankee yes it is welcome to roc-city I could go on but enough said.
  12. If the area of leadcore sheath is in good condition AND the area of "missing" or broken lead is only a small area, i have just super glued the sheathing area. MAKE SURE GLUE is dry before you wind back unto reel -know it shouldn't have to be said but then again... hope this helps.

  18. just talked with mark and he just finished weighing in TWO fish in the derby. the 1oth place rainbow and the 5th place lake trout. oh yeah he had to also rub in the fact that they boated 6 or 7 majors today. way to go brother you the man.
  19. last thought.....ever see how a pike or musky grabs a bait? SIDEWAYS first then turns it to swallow.??????? Also i had a strike vision camera on my boat for a short time a watched a king follow a dodger/fly set up for 5 minutes, then it disappeared of camera, a few seconds later it came into view from the side and whacked the dodger/fly with its tail. wild stuff
  20. A tom mik pro denny- not trying to steal marks thread here but IDK why. territorial, aggresive, really hunger and want a big meal or maybe they are like me somedays you just wanna kill something LOL.
  21. Mark, as you saw we where next to you yesterday and where complaining about the same problem. We had over 40 fish on yesterday and only boated 14. You have been out with me a number of times so this is first part is for everyone else. A) when i do a count of number of fish on it is true fish on, im talking rod bent client on rod and feeling the fish> I do not count a hit as the rod poped off the release because i was turning at 12 mph. B) every hook on the boat is needle sharp, they get sharpened every morning at start, after every fish and every lure change ....they are like needles. C) I run my release very tight this time of year because the kings getting a kype and harder jaw. plus when a rod goes off i want the hooks buried. so that was all taken out of my problem of a 25% land ratio yesterday. We did the same thing as you, tried differnet set backs, same color lures just different size, etc. i think it was just mother nature and one of those things that we will never know for sure, Hey A-TOM-MIK Pro Denny - i have an 11" flasher in my cabin with teeth marks carved in it. i show everyone, funny you mentioned that. look at the possitive side of it bro. the derby wasn't on, we did unreal numbers of fish on for this time of year and i didnt have to net/fillet a mother load.
