  1. Miss- Alot of guys have been dropping fish and getting cracked off. so you are not alone. I am out tomarrow so give me a shout and I will let you know what's going on out there.
  2. Tom, I will not be there. I am not fishing ANY of the pro/ams this year. BUT we will have to catch up.
  3. Sorry it has been a long time since i have been on and posted. Running alot of charters and soccer stuff for my son, who is leaving to go over seas to Holland next week to compete in a 10 day soccer tournament. Anyways, Rochester has been good to great since I returned from Olcott. Steelhead and kings have been being taken in 150' to 350' along the entire monroe county shore line. Key has been to stay on the fish. When you hit a fish WORK the area HARD. even if the temp is wrong and the screen is blank. Nothing specail on lures - same old goto stuff is working. Only thing I have noticed is the "fly" bite has not been very good for me. Tightlines and will try to post more often
  4. Way to go YT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congradulations to you and everyone else from LOU that did well. Hope to see alot of you at the top 10 in the olcott tourny.
  5. No problem bud. The water here of Rochester is Fridged and mixed up. Things really need to calm down and reset up again. Glad you had a good time an learning experience dispete the SUPER SLOW fishing.
  6. Pat, It was nice talking with you briefly Sunday morning. We went west to our waypoints and had a very good day. Congrats on the 18th place LT.
  7. how: trolling what: with a boat where: following someone elses boat around final ranking 10th Just kidding - here is the low down. John (owner of Northern King Lures) took his 22.06 pound salmon on Friday May 12th. We where in 280' of water west of wilson. It came in about 7:45 (weighted in at 9:45). The lure was a "doctored" up NK28 black/silver hologram. 51' down 5' off the ball,2.25 mph downspeed/2.9 SOG on a n/w troll. I think I cover everything. know for the good stuff. After John weighted in his fish we spent a few hours testing and researching a bunch of stuff. If things go as planed watch for some really "smokin'" stuff to be coming out.
  8. and to think all i had was an "empty cooler" good job out there the past few days and it was nice to meet you and talk for a few minutes at dock..Glad everyone had a good time and good job tiring the $1000/man out I will be up there for a few more days so if you venture out give me a shout.
  9. Tom, thanks bud. we where in third . Hope the fish holds up for john. I am out the rest of the weekend so maybe we will see another one
  10. UGLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! worked 175-300' today after a late start do to a passing thunder/lightning storm. We pulled a unbelievable number of coho's today, never seen anything like it. pink, red and orange spoons off the boards w/ one largge split shot. 00 red dodger with small blue peanut flies on 2 color cores off the boards was the ticket. also took a few steelies and 2 kings-largest just shy of 20 pounds. One on a purple thunder nk28 with a diagonal strip of pink glow tape off 39' rigger. second came on a black/silver/glow on a 45' rigger. Alot of debris in the water but it is fishable. water temp ranged from 48-50 on the surface and 40-42 degrees down 40'. well be out the rest of the LOC good luck to all.
  11. Well the past few days since my last report have been almost the same. Browns and small coho's in the 8-14 FOW range. Shallow riggers and boards doing them. Slow pick but can do well if you put your time in. Best spon has been A 3f evil eye black/silver with crushed glow tape 50' back and 3 down. Best sickbaits have been green. Bigger coho's, occational browns and steelies, and a few kings in the 35' to 60' water range. Again boards, riggers and cores slowly picking away at them. NK 28 froggy's and black/silver cup spooks working on the riggers. Mix of sticks worrking of the boards. No real pattern on colors, location or anything like that. the fish seem to be moving around alot but again if you put your time in you can end up with a good days catch. Hightlight of the past 3 days for us was a 19.6 pound king we boated on Sunday. Close but no cigar on the leaderboard. I will be out of Rochester Wedsneday and thursday then I am leaving for Olcott to finish off the month. Will post when I can. Good luck to all both in the derby and not.
  12. Tough fishing today. Flat seas, full moon, and sun! Worked between Genny river and Shipbuilders point. Water color was anywhere from "kinda clear" to muddy. Some areas with nice fishy green. Managed to pull a nice box of browns, coho's and a bow (9 pounds) in the 8'-14' water range. No real pattern on lures location or prettty much anything.
  13. I have heard reports of some big lakers up at the N.river area. I have boated a few browns that could weight in here of Rochester and 1 steelie. There out there just gotta get 'em
  14. o.kay I will monitor channel 68. I have a slight change in plans and will not be up to Olcott until Saturday May 5th. I got a report of cold water and a ton of debis coming down the river so I am staying in Rochester a few extra days to let things calm down.
  15. Well as alot of you know i am heading to Olcott, town of newfane marina. I will be there from tuesday (may 2nd) thru the first week of June. Seeing how alot of members of the board will be heading up to the area also, i wanted to know what channel on the vhf everyone will be on. If you hear me on the radio say hello. I will be out there somewheres everyday thru the LOC. Tight lines and let's see some LOU members on the leaderboard again this spring.
  16. have not heard much about fishing in the bay, but the lake has been good. When exiting the channel into the lake stay to the far left (west) riprap. A huge sandbar extend 2/3 across from the east pier. I went in there Monday and the water on the west channel was 6-8' deep. good luck.
  17. Direct hit, LAst I heard late last week was cold ice water and very few fish on the American Side. Hopefully it warms up soon and the action shows up at that end I am heading that way next week :?
  18. Good job Dave!!!!!!!!! I will be fishing the bar from April 30th till June 7th. If you see me out on the water say hi!
  19. Roadrash, I was on a trip saturday between the bath house and russel, long story made short a Shimano 600lc tekota of mine went over board  . IF THIS IS WHAT YOU FOUND PLEASE CONTACT ME 585 747-7897.
  20. biggest king was 12 to 13 pounds. No pics-sorry i was on trips. I will be up at olcott starting the 30th of this month. see you there.
  21. Friday - Awesome mix of browns and coho's. west was best Saturday - Awesome browns, coho's and 3 kings. west was best in 8-12' between bathhouse and the ponds. Small pocket of green water with a tone of fish. Black/silver and Red challengers off the boards. Froggie and black/silver 28's off the riggers. Monday SLOW. went east and had a slow pick on browns between the yard arm and shipbuilders. Also 1 small coho. No color pattern all fish came in 5-7' water today.
  22. Dave, about time you fixed that printer
  23. see you guys up there but I am docking in Olcott.
  24. Could someone that has been out please post what the outlet channel to I.bay has for water depth. i have heard everything from 2' to 8'. I have to go into the bay Monday and would like to know if i am making it in there or not. THANKS.
  25. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We (charter captains) don't mention numbers of how many we or the other 2 boats did on LOU post, but lets just say you could not keep rods in the water at all. There was a nice pocket of green eater in 8'-12' water between shipbuilders and webster pier. Temp was 39.5-41.0 degrees. Mostly browns in the 3-6 pound range with a few up to 8lbs. Coho's mixed in with then in the 3-6 pound range. Color of the day was green and firetiger in both stick baits off the boards and spoons on the riggers. The other color was red. I would like to add a note that on my boat and the other 2, the browns where pretty much scare free of lamprey marks. Very nice to see that. Hopefully the browns and coho's will still be around after this front comes thru. :? tight lines
