  1. Yankee - you know that you only need 4 spoons on your boat to catch kings -froggy glow, spook, wonderbread and MILATTO!
  2. steelhead candy
  3. silver,white or gold cup
  4. ROCHESTER FAVORITE Glow- new from northernking regular
  5. Erby, the swievel bases are not lockable. they install like the rod holders. I runn Scotties and have locks on the riggers - so they would have to steal everything and couldn't get the bases apart from the riggers. I feel safe enough with that....if they want to steal your riggers they will no matter what. I would not worry to much about it.
  6. to add to the link mark (reeljerks)posted. Basically, a strong or presisent N/E wind blow will push cold water inshore and up towards the surface. This happens AFTER a thermocline sets up in the summer. I have seen upwellings, in August, where the "intight" waters are in the mid 40's and offshore temps in the mid to upper 60's.
  7. Tim, At least you have the ear of a few buisnesses and Official people up your way -we have nodda  Does LOSTA need a pen or want an additonal one? I am asking because of maybe "stakeholder" help.
  8. It's a great idea but this is Rochester, Big city life, alot of them really don't care much about the fishery or kickback from it. The Genesee Charter Association has provided the start, continued support and funding for this proticular project.....since day one. Very little involvment from area businesses, except the help of the marina where we do the project. A handful of members of LOU help with maintaining the pens and feeding the fish - thanks. But the project can and does need more help. Plus with the short fall with Caleldonia now the project need 2 more pens/netting ($4000), so financial support is needed. Our Clus (Genesee Charter) is non for profit and the bank account only can do so much.
  9. The Caledonia Fish Hatchery will not supply salmon until further notice because of concerns of the VHS disease infecting the Hatchery. The Rochester area usually receives 100,000 Chinook form Caledonia that are directly stocked into the Genesee River. To compensate for this The DEC said that the Genesee River pen rearing project could have an extra 40,000 Chinook fingerlings from the Altmar Hatchery for pen-rearing to help make up the difference. This means a total of 125,000 Chinooks and 10,000 Steelhead in the pens. The genesee River pen rearing project will need two extra pens and a lot more help from the public to help feed and to work on the pens. We don't have the exact figure yet but it will be somewhere around $4000 for pens, netting, and such. Anyone who is interested in finding out more about the pen rearing project, donate money, or to volunteer are welcome to come to the Genesee Charter club meeting in January. Anyone who is interested in helping out (in any way) for this important cause please contact me. email [email protected] phone (585) 747-7897 or via post/pm's here All of us here enjoy this great fishery of ours, let's keep it going and give back a little something.
  10. Just got off the phone with mr.rebel - I am sending him there with a tape measure I am concerned beause I MAY be adding a hardtop and radar. Plus Lowering the outriggers and vhf everytime out/in could get old.
  11. Give me a "come along", a chain, a screw driver, and vise grips and I could wank that motor out for ya  Mark as I said when we talked about motor options, 4 bolt mains are the way to go - stronger lower end. Now let's keep cold water out of it Glad you got her back up and running last season, it got lonely offshore BANGING KINGS AND STEELHEAD
  12. Erby - you did go with the berts? didn't we talk about them last winter and i recommended them?....can't remember if it was you or anyother board member. As far as tracks go. I agree the inserts are great....I have them where people board but the "fishing areas" are insertless so I can move stuff around. I have a total of 24' off tracking around my cockpit! Added note the bert's swievle (SP?) riggers mounts are the best. Solid as a rock and rotate with ease. Overall they are the best overall way to rig a boat with rod holders and riggers.
  13. Anyone know the bridge clearance (parkway bridge)? A few I.bay guys (including me  )are thinking of relocating there and are concerned with ripping their boat tops off while trying to pass uder the bridge.
  14. jax, i just checked and I do not have any pics of the back of my boat with the bert's system on. I just added them last spring - sorry. As far as where to mount rod holders or riggers that's the wild thing about bert's, they are on a track system you can move, slide or remove anything, any wheres- and this is done without DRILLING or unscrewing. I add/remove riggers and rod holders all the time - even while on the water. http://www.teclausa.com/bert/
  15. Funny you mention wire - that king in above pic was taken on the wire. we can do wires to LOL. FYI king me 14th place (284.45 points) Port Bay Misfits 28th( 125.96 points) just busting stones.
