  1. The core was tuf-line first time ever I have had that happen or even heard of it happening. It was one of them types of mornings lol. Gonna order some Amish tow line .... Thanks . Still can't believe 250lb power pro came apart or the lead Core.
  2. Well today was one of those OMG REALY that just happened days. Decided to fish our own water and avoid the pack first thing in a.m. Set up just out side of the piers heads. Before got spread fully in water - doubled up on kings!!! Thinking awesome its gonna be a smoking day. 25' rigger and 19' rigger over 35'. Continued troll to amusement park - 5 color core - laker - I.bay. Then 2 color core starts to go - crack off and lost 1/2 length core. Ship builders - 15' rigger - nice coho jumping 20' from boat - then GONE. Turn and work waypoints back toward river. Laker 5 color core. Then the planer board tow line breaks ?????? wtf it 250lb power pro. Turn to recover board. Set back up slide diver goes short fight and crack off. OMG I give is there banana's on board or what. OK.....got all that out of way now can we get back to catching fish. Continued to fish between i bay and durand rest of day picking away at them. Riggers 15-31 down, 2 and 5 color core, slide divers 40-65 out on 3 1/2 no ring. Kings, Lakers, Coho. no steel head or browns boated today. We ran a full spoon program. Anything green produced -Mag NBK, Great lakes Lure Co. green/chart N35's, and DW ss froggy best. Off till Monday then we doing a stretch and will be on the water rest of the week. Good luck to all this weekend.
  3. Good luck to everyone fishing the LOC derby over the next 10 days. Should be interesting.
  4. congrats on the fish and great to hear you released it to fish another day.
  5. as stated 4 to 5 rods per side. Each side same set back. Added note since first yeAr running big boards/multiple lines....your first line out(closest to board) keep in holder towards bow, next rod out 2nd closest rod holder etc. Also when a rod "pops" keep tension on fish, rod tip up for a moment if possible before you start feeling fish in. This let's the fish "fallback" and keeps from pulling it in thru your other board lines. Easier said then done most times lol
  6. No problem. We turned before west side of plant and did the deeper(15-30 fow) pass all the way back to shipbuilders.
  7. FLX Troller- great job You asked on another thread how far the Kings where.....15 to 35 fow they where down by west side of ginna also on bottom with a few here and there suspended.
  8. Thanks rich - hope your raking them up on your end also. Good luck in upcoming loc to you and your clients
  9. Get group of guys this past weekend. Had 6 guys up from PA for a stag party of fishing. Even thou none of them... http://t.co/44xfegwEu8

  10. Beautiful Atlantic caught offshore aboard the Fired up last year early August
  11. a-lure-a The flow will be welcomed if it continued but i can handle less debris in the water lol
  12. britty- to add alittle to what everyone has stated already - the bite on browns so far for us has been 10-1 stickbaits over spoons for the most part so far. the success we have had with spoons have been with long leads off the riggers (3' 5' and sometimes 7' down) 50' to 65' back. DW superslims in nbk, and great lakes lure keuka wobblers in black/ilver, spook, magenta shad, and goby have been what has worked so far for us as far as spoons go in tight
  13. Sea-iv the bite has been slow for the most part up till this weekend so don't get disappointed. The bite is in now so go get 'em bud
  14. 6 man limit by 9:30 yesterday! Rochester is hot browns coho and king salmon

  15. We had a bachelor party group on board this past weekend,None of them had ever fished the big pond before and we tossed them to the wolves. After all 6 of them in the party lost their first 2 fish each they got their game together, and scooped up their limit like they where pro's in no time flat. Once you get past the debris and mud the brown trout fishing and coho have been chewing all the way to ginna. Long lines off the boards with anything green or black/silver in sticks have been the ticket. A few spoon/rigger bites but sticks out producing them 10 to 1 the past few days in tight. The coho have been cookie cutters but feisty, The bigger browns are starting to show up in the mix with the smaller guys. The 20 to 40 foot depths showed these guys a work out . Kings and lakers whacking the riggers and cores while the boards taking some more coho and browns gave these guys a true taste of what a diverse and world class fishery Lake Ontario truely is. Super slims in NBK, wonderbread, and Black/silver, Great Lakes lures in green/chart and spook taking the shots in the deeper waters. Riggers 11 to 21 down and cores. A great weekend of fishing and nothing beats a grand slam for newbies. With the bite the way it is and with the fish currently off rochester - should be some Roc fish on the LOC leader board. Good luck to all fishing it.
  16. Find the right water and the Browns, coho, and kings chewing off rochester

  17. I thought this thread was dead but i guess i will make my LAST reply on this topic ONLINE. 2004 sodus pro am largest king salmon pro. division and $1000.00 a day winner 28.28lbs. (l&M) remembers that one because he was close second and thats out of a port i had never fished before 2005 pro/am 14th place you where still an AM. back then so you may not remember. fished 2 pro/ams and that's it because of 2 reasons first and foremost a team member had a serious medical issue during a prefish event and it had a huge impact on the team second reason is i have said a thousand times there needs to be no communication in these events. do your best by yourself and see where you land when the dust settles. Communication between anglers makes the playing a mask - no communication at all in the end will show consistency, ability and knowledge of all anglers involved. Countless teams place in the money because of knowledge learned or shared.... and in my eyes that proves nothing. But maybe some more of those events will be coming up in the future. LOC derby placings - done browns, lakers, steelhead and kings all in the placings (from 3rd place in a division on down) and in the money for myself,my customers including a top 10 placing king out of your port of wilson for the owner of Northern King Lures. Of ya - did that and it was my first time fishing out of that port. i dont need recognition could careless. The spotlight and chest pounding can be handled by others. last note one of your very first charters you ran i second boated for you....it was for a radio advertising agency. You had the bayliner then. You had to ask me where the fish where because you haven't been out in awhile and i had fished the past few days. We fished the charter both did good and all had a great time...I had 2 or 3 more fish than you thou. DID the same thing to you BRUCE - smoked ya on your own trip. Point being is we all catch fish, good days and bad days. Sometimes when you climb the ladder you forget things. don't ever forget where you came from in life.
