Hey bud where you locAted? I have one shimano tdr dipsey rod and 2 cabela downrigger rods that I don't use and have been sitting for a few years in basement..... I will give them to you free.
we run okuma convector 30 line counters spoon up with 30lb clear big game line. Splice in 100' of flouro. And you are good to go. 100' is more than you will ever need for a slide diver set back.
Also I am not a fan of the slide diver "lite " bite
We also run slide divers on our wire diver rods. Spool on wire then splice in 60' of 40 or 50 pound flourocarbon. DeAdly on kings and steel
Wow I talked to you about Jason and his spoons and now he is offering you a job. Lol Barry yA move down there and only 1hour 40 minutes from hoping aboard .
Awesome looking paint jobs all of you guys .... I can paint houses and cars but not spoons... Oh well.
I can't say anything about hummingbird haven't used one since I had my ranger bass boat back in the 90's. If you have questions on Garmin units call Jim at BOE marine is is an expert and is currently installing the new electronics on wicked Tina's tuna.coms new custom built boat. He is a great guy, unbiased and will answer any all all your questions. Then you can make a final decision on a unit and not regret it later on by it hb, Garmin or whatever.
Here is a few pics of chirp and downvision in action.
Upper is chirp lower is downvision going over rock bottom with some big boulders
Chirp - bait on bottom with fish shooting up to 55' rigger from bottom
Lol boat locked and we have a security camera no worries there lol.
Not sure how many bad Santos's you "stold" from me ( laughing) but try one as is and if yA got another put 5 or 6 dots on the painted face with a black sharpie and a orange or red eye on the inside cup by the hook end -
If yA win know keep both spoons I'm gonna want a prize money kickback!! Lol
We run chirp and down vision and love it. Highly recommend Raymarine. Here is a screen shot of this past weekend 13 foot of water going over some rock bottom area with boulders. Upper screen is chirp lower is downvision .
Also look at BOE marine for whatever unit you decide on. Very knowledgable, great customer service.
Ok I will share he earned that spoon lol. Wicked Orange is cool.... Rhonda said "slow burn" just before this post. .....troll it slow and burns fish into the box. But I think mike should name it since he won the first derby that lure has ever seen.
Ok.... Been nice been professional to make a point/statement...but seems certain people need to keep drama and the girl scout stuff going and/or egging it on. So let's not play or pass and popcorn let's go play with the big boys.
gloves off here we go.
Mr. WIDELL you a very funny man. As part of the "boys club" you contribute to some of the TOP SECRETS of the port of rochester. Let's see voice scrambler channels on the vhf, Cell phone GLUED to ears, etc....
HMMMMM I was black balled, slammed, talked about, screamed at you name it for starting this message board with another fellow recreational angler. The "Boys Club" lost their minds for sharing any information at all, i had to ask the secret society of the port of rochester if it was ok to tell a non captain what spark plug to use in there boat.
give me a break. everyone grow up, shut up and fish.
yankee good job that day - sorry to steal your thread but you know EXACTLY why.
be out fishing off braddocks all weekend. no secrets 6-15 foot water.
