  1. I want a ride in that boat Andy!!!
  2. Still praying every day for you guys Rick. Hang in there and don't forget to let me know if there's anything I can do to help out.
  3. Guys, I've been in contact with Rick almost every day concerning his Dad's condition and he's asked me to update all of you. Rich is still in a coma at Strong. Yesterday was not a good day; they have been unable to get the swelling in his brain to subside, so they surgically removed a portion of his skull to help with that situation. They hope that the swelling subsides as a result, but they told Rick it could be from a few weeks to several months before they can repair that portion of his Dad's skull. At this point the best the doctors can tell Rick is that it's a waiting game for his Dad. As most of you know, Rich has been the man at the wheel for every one of the Pro-Am, Scotty, and local tournaments that the Yankee Troller team has been involved in. He's been a fixture on Lake Ontario for decades now and is the original Yankee Troller. I think it goes without saying that he can use all of our prayers on a daily basis. Please keep them coming. Also, if any of you wanted to send Rich a get-well card, etc., you can address them to him at the following address. Be sure to indicate that's its Patient Mail or they'll return to sender like they did with my card! Richard Hajecki (PATIENT) Strong Memorial Hospital 601 Elmwood Avenue Rochester, NY 14642 While Rich won't see them till he's recovered, his wife & two boys will certainly appreciate the support from the Lake Ontario community. That's about it for now. I'll do my best to keep all of you updated here as Rick just has too much to worry about with his Dad to post.
  4. Very nice Ray! What a way to wrap up the season.
  5. I just talked to Rick this morning (Friday) and his Dad is "holding his own" but it sounds like he hasn't shown much improvement over the course of the week. He's in the Trauma ICU at Strong with a brain injury. Rick and his entire family could certainly use our support. If anyone felt so compelled, you can send cards & other well wishes to him at: Richard Hajecki (PATIENT) Strong Memorial Hospital 601 Elmwood Avenue Rochester, NY 14642 Be sure to indicate that's its Patient Mail or they'll return to sender like they did with my card! Rick, if you read this please know that my wife, kids, and I all have your Dad and your entire family in our thoughts and prayers every day.

    GPS Plotter?

Lew, Humminbird also made a 785c2 that used an external antenna. I think with a hard top you'll be happier with an external antenna. FWIW, Humminbird has stopped offering stand alone GPS/Plotters. You might be able to find the 785c2 on closeout somewhere for a great price. Now all of their units are combo FF/GPS units. I have a combo unit on the way that we'll use exclusively as a GPS next year, so don't let that deter you. The new version of the the 785c2 is the 788c. Hope this helps.
  9. Very nice Tom! Man I wish I lived closer!
  10. I thought I had this sold, but the buyer has fallen off the face of the earth. I need it gone. Please send your reasonable offers....this is pretty much a brand new downrigger.
  11. Nice looking ride John. Congrats! I agree with sfarm...track is the way to go.
  12. I was in FL all of last week, and had a chance to go fishing out of Port Orange (just South of Daytona) with Capt Shane Ryan: http://backwaterflatsfishing.com/ I walked off and forgot my camera, so Capt. Shane snapped a few pics with my cell phone. Sorry about the lousy picture quality. I caught two Black Tip Sharks that were each over 200 lbs: Let me tell you, my arms are STILL sore from those monsters. I've never fought a fish that was that strong before. We also played with several Spinner Sharks a huge Tarpon that I lost after it took probably 800' of line, and then we went in and finished up the trip with a load of Jack Crevalle: If any of you are ever in the Daytona/Orlando area, I'd highly recommend a trip with Capt. Shane. I'm already making plans to go back again soon!
  13. Mine came in the mail yesterday. I filled it today!
  14. I just saw one of their episodes on Sportsman Channel (Channel 605 on Directv). These are the guys who produced that Pro-Am show I started the thread bout earlier. It aired on Saturday at 8:30pm. I thought you all would like to know when its airing so that you can catch it.
  15. I should add that I also have a couple of the Daiwa Accudepth Plus reels...I use them for wire divers, and they've been really good too. And they're even less money than the SG series. Last time I looked they were going for about $65 ea. Frankly, they might just be the best bargain in reels out there today.
  16. Great looking boat! Wish I had the $$, this would be a great second boat for me!
  17. For a lot less money than the Shimano you should also check out the Daiwa SG47LCA. I have a bunch of then on board and they've never missed a beat in several years of Lake Ontario abuse. They sell for about $95 ea. and in my opinion are the best reel out there in that price range. If you're in the market for a premium reel, no doubt the Shimano Tekota is a great choice, but Daiwa now has a reel that is going to be giving the Tekota a run for its money. The Daiwa Saltist Levelwind is a fabulous reel that's going to price out about the same as the Tekota: http://daiwa.com/Reel/detail.aspx?ID=504
  18. I've been running 15-16lb rigger weights and a probe on my Cannons for several years now and have never had the cable break. The stock cable that comes with the rigger is 150lb test stainless and shouldn't ever break unless it gets kinked or nicked somehow. I've also never had a problem with the lexan base or boom end with my heavier weights. Even still that's a neat way to reduce the stress on those pieces Gill-T...kinda taking the same philosophy as Big Jon with their flexible booms. Good thinking. My opinion...you shouldn't have any problems whatsoever with a 15 lb weight on your Unit-troll 5's, except for maybe a really tired arm from reeling up up from 100' down! The Uni-troll 5 is warranted by Cannon for 20 lbs.
  19. Depends on how deep you're fishing. We use the heavier weights when fishing deep during the summer, but lighten up the weights when fishing shallower in the spring. We run 16lb'ers on the probe all the time just to help reduce the blowback.
  20. Nice! There's a new link to get to it: http://www.divshare.com/download/8923545-789 Man that thing gets me pumped!
  21. Great day Sean! Looks like I pulled my boat too soon. Although it IS deer season....
  22. Give me a call any time Gray.
  23. Way to go Liam!
  24. Whoops! Well I look forward to the final "approved" version, because that first version was just awesome.
