  1. Sounds like Food Saver is the way to go. Thanks for the recommendations. Now, where can I find the best deal on one?!?!?
  2. I'm looking to buy a vacuum sealer to seal up my fish & venison. I figured that this would be about the best place to ask for a recommendation. Anyone have any good or bad experiences with a particular model sealer? Thanks!
  3. Happy Birthday to me...I just bought myself a lifetime Hunting & Fishing License! Wish I had done that years ago! Thanks again for all the Birthday wishes...you guys are great.
  4. I've used it too with no problems.
  5. Thanks for all the birthday wishes guys. I really appreciate it...and Ray, if you could PLEASE make that about 40mph I'd appreciate it!

  7. SOLD pending payment. Thanks to all who PM'd to ask about it.
  8. As luck would have it, a friend of mine just called me tonight and he has a brand new telescopic boom for sale. PM me and we can work out specifics.
  9. I have a brand new, still in the box, never used 15# Black Faceted Shark for sale. $50. Buyer to pay shipping or pick up in Ithaca, NY. [email protected] or (607)592-9012.
  10. Sure it can. You'll just need to install a coated cable on the rigger.
  11. I have a 2009 Cannon Mag 20 DT/TS downrigger for sale. It's the model with the stainless steel spool and boom and it will connect to CannonLink. It comes with the mounting base, swivel base, single rod holder, 400' of cable, and both ends of the power cord. This rigger is rated at 250fpm with a 20 lb weight and is smokin' fast. It literally has all of 3 or 4 days use on it but has spent most of the summer in my garage getting dusty. I had this one as an extra but its just not being used, so its gotta go. These MSRP at $1,200 ea., but Capt. Gary's regularly sells them for $1,079: http://www.captgarys.com/product_info.p ... ducts_id=5 I'll let this one go for $750. Email me at [email protected] or call me at 607-592-9012 to discuss. Buyer to pick up locally in Ithaca, NY or pay full shipping costs.
  12. Happy Birthday John!
  13. I kept waiting for your foot to slip off that cooler and for you to fall in the lake! LOL!! Great memories for you & your son for sure...just be careful up there!!
  14. That boy needs to learn to back a trailer up!
  15. I was definitely twittering out there. Real-time fishing reports...how cool! Oh, and this goes out to the dim-witted blowboater who wasn't paying any attention at all as my 4 year-old was fighting a fish on a wire diver out 250' behind the boat....put your wine glass down, watch where you're going, pay attention to others around you and exercise some common sense! When someone waves you off, it's probably for good reason.
  16. I took the kids out after dinner for a quick 30 minute troll tonight and we found several Lakers that were ready to play. Best depth for us was 350FOW on the West side South of Taughannock and we took fish on our Walker Deeper Divers out 250' & 275' on a #2 setting. We had plenty bait & hooks on the Humminbird, and if it wasn't a school night and we could have stayed longer I'm pretty sure we could have loaded up on the lake trout. Our green Spin Dr/Siggs Green Hypnotists and White Spin Dr/Siggs Glow Ghosts were just what they wanted tonight. It was such a quick trip that I didn't even bother with the speed & temp probe so I can't tell you what our down speed was, but the boys and my wife and I had a great time and enjoyed the great weather and good fishing.
  17. Have a Happy Birthday Hank!
  18. Looks like its just you & me YT!
  19. They're going to MSRP right around $199, but you'll probably find them for less than that. They've also come out with an upgraded SG Series reel, and all new trolling rods: http://myblog.billyvsportfishing.com/20 ... daiwa.aspx
  20. I'll second the ADP 57LC/Heartland combo. Hard to beat it for the price. Now if you want a premium reel, take a long look at the new Daiwa Saltist STTLW50LCHA . Awesome reel for leadcore...super fast at 6.4:1 and a fabulous drag. http://daiwa.com/Reel/detail.aspx?ID=504
  21. I sure am!
  22. I just signed up for Twitter and was wondering who else is on it? Might be fun to follow some of the people we know from LOU.
  23. The way Sponge described the Walker is spot on. Works great if you want to put the time into drilling out the Walker. Walker also makes a Black's style release & klincher all rolled into one. That works great too. The way I have it now is even easier though. I just put a Blacks onto a thimble and then crimp the thimble onto the coated cable, making sure I get good metal to metal contact on the coated cable. Looks like the same way YT has his. You'll want to strip off about 5 or 6 " of coating and then crimp the thimble onto the un-coated section. Attach the probe to the Black's and you're ready to go. Even with the exposed metal I get readings down below 120'.
  24. Unless it's blowing like stink you'll be fine with that rig Rod. Lots of places to get out of the wind on the finger lakes even if it does blow a little bit. Should be a fun trip for you.
