  8. I run 4 dipsys all the time and stagger them like Rick does also. I've never run them both at the same height off the water as Clarke is asking and I don't think it would impair the divers in any way when they're in the water, but I can definitely see it being a pain in the butt to deal with when you're trying to get the rod out of the holder, especially if there's a King on that high diver taking a lot of line. Having one high and one low is also a good visual indicator as to which diver is deep and which is shallow. Here's a pic of my two diver set up as they sit in the holder. We've also started angling that rear-most holder towards the rigger and started putting our corner rigger rods in that holder since we can get it closer to the water that way. Although with the new Cannon rigger mounted rod holders we'll be running next year we won't have to do that!
  9. Oh man, don't get me going on the pheasant farm....I live near there and know a couple of guys who are going to lose their jobs over that. Not to mention that I grew up hunting pheasants that were raised at that farm. I hate the thought of knowing that my two sons won't be able to enjoy that with me as I did with my father.
  10. I sure can blame the Governor. Matter of fact I fully blame him and all of the politicians who've selfishly put our entire economy in this situation. If we don't voice our concerns over these types of issues, we'll never have another opportunity to because they'll take away these programs and it'll be years before we see them again, if ever. And in my opinion, these additional fees are simply put there to push his DEC budget cuts off on the sportsman. I read somewhere that he wants to cut $91.8 million dollars out of the DEC budget. These new fees are simply a way to help offset those cuts. I personally don't want to pay any more of my hard earned money to the crooks that run our Government. How about asking the politicians to take a pay cut? That'll never happen. Their Armani suits, big houses and Mercedes Benz's are far too important to them. These additional fees are going to do nothing but discourage people from enjoying the outdoors. I'm sure those of us who operate charter businesses will feel the impact. I, for one, feel the need to voice my concern.
  11. Yeah, we use the same ratios Doublehaul. Best part of the Deeper Diver is no ring to deal with.
  12. Done Bob, thanks. I also emailed the Governor. Here's a link to our wonderful Governor's plan: http://publications.budget.state.ny.us/ ... udget.html I haven't read the entire document yet, but I'm not seeing where the money they'll be raising through all these new surcharges will be spent.
  13. I second the Walker Deeper Diver. Their weight ratchets on the bottom and stays in place. That and it has no ring to break or get lost. It's a great alternative and in fact we've stopped using Dipsys altogether in favor of them.
  14. I emailed him with my objections just now. Anyone know which politician I should CC on the email? Damn I hate politicians!
  15. Who do we write to to voice our disapproval?
  16. 3 of these are SOLD. Still one remaining.
  17. Like Musky said, we use a Black's release to the terminal end of the cable and then attach the Shark to that. Works great for us.
  18. I use the faceted finish with flashers all the time and there doesn't seem to be any confusion going on. I'm a firm believer in the Shark weights, but I'm afraid that I don't agree with them on this one.
  19. I have an assortment of colors (gold, chrome, black) but we run the black ones most of the time and frankly, I've painted most of the gold & chrome's black too. My new Mega Sharks are coming in the black faceted finish.
  20. Next we'll be trying to figure out how to run 1,200 ft. of copper to get down there with junk rods!
  21. Yankee Troller and I already have our orders in for these....let the DEEP trolling begin. I'm gonna have to get longer cable on my riggers! http://www.sharkcannonballs.com/sn_big_is_better.html
  22. I have a three boat trip planned with Andy for next week. Can't wait!! Glad you guys had a good day.
  23. Holy smokes! My wife is gonna kill me!! No, that's NOT a verbal commitment Brian, but I will talk to my team about it.
  24. Some of the colors are already available at www.gloutdoorstore.com. But in talking to Shane from DW just yesterday, he indicated that all of the colors won't be widely available until February.
