Actually, it might be cool to get a bunch of guys together at some point in the year to fish together....with all the experience on this board, we could all learn a few "tricks"!!

I saw a thread over on another board about "Odd Occurrences" that have happend on board the boat, and it made me think about a funny story that happened to me a number of years ago. What's the funniest thing to ever happen on board your boat? Here's one of mine: About 18 years ago, I was fishing off of the mouth of the Genesee river in October with my high-school best friend. He had never been out fishing with me before, so he didn't really know what to expect. The screen was lit up with fish, but we just couldn't get anything to fire. After his third or fourth cup of coffee, my buddy gets up and goes to the back of the boat to use the "executive washroom" (aka rusty Maxwell House pee can). Now my buddy is a big guy, so he completely unbuckles his belt and pants so he can pee. He has his britches down around his waist and has just about filled the pee can when the rod right next to him fires. I start yelling "Grab the rod...GRAB THE ROD!!!" He has no idea what to do, so he drops the full pee can all over his feet and grabs the rod. He starts cussing his wet feet while the fish takes off for Canada, and he's trying to pull up his pants. The fish stops its run and turns back towards the boat, so now he has to have both hands on the rod & reel to pick up line. As soon as he lets go of his pants, they go all the way to the "wet" floor, and he's standing there bare-assed fighting this King, cussing up a blue streak. "G-Damn, Mother F-er" he says...Then he has the audacity to ask me to pull his pants back up for him! I just looked at him and said "Buddy, I like you an awful lot, but not THAT much!" I'm laughing hysterically at him, and he's getting really pissed that I wont help him. He's trying to fight the fish and pull up his pants all at once. He just about gets them up when we take an awkward wave and he loses his balance and falls onto the "wet" floor of the boat. Needless to say, he's cursing more than ever now, but to his credit he never let go of that rod. He gets his fat, "wet" butt back up and lands a 20# King, all the while completely bare-assed. Funniest thing I've even seen on the boat. Of course, I didn't have a camera on board. I laughed so hard that my stomach hurt for days afterward! Our 25th High School reunion is coming up in a couple of years, and I can't wait to re-live that story with him...haven't seen him in 10 years or more.

Oh Hank, I think you invented all the tricks! But you're welcome to come too...
-
I'm not so sure I know what I'm doing!!  But you guys are more than welcome to come on board for a day of fun-fishing.
-
.....if we can get the boats out of the barns they're stored in!!!
-
You're more than welcome to hop on board with me sometime Erby. And no worries, I'll paint some of those up for you this spring!
-
Sharks!!! Not even on the list?!?!?!
-
Erby, I was just bustin' on ya about the secret lures....that week in August we were running mostly Spin Dr.'s & fly on our riggers....same as we had on our dipsys. I did dedicate a couple of high rods to spoons, and those took a few fish, but the majority of the Kings came off of our deep rods.
-
Erby, Erby, Erby....what happened to that top-secret new lure that I told you about over dinner in August? You know that one that only Fair Haven fish like? Didn't I give you some of those??? That was the ticket for us off the riggers last year!

Emtystringer, Dad & I went up to the lake today, and there's a good 4' of snow in town. I had a roof rake with me and got as much of the snow as I could reach off of your camper. Your camper is a lot higher than mine, and I couldn't get up top with the stepladder I had. I think you'll be OK unless it snows hard again, or if it rains. Here's some shots of the snow we have:

The interline rods get fouled with fleas. They're great for mono before they show up, but after that, you're gonna want to leave them at home.
-
Bring on the flys Sigg!!! I'm National Sales Manager for a software company, part-time charter captain, and Technical Director for the Greek Peak Ski School.
-
No trouble at all. Everything looked fine a couple of weeks ago.
-
I was up there last week and it really looked pretty good, but with all this snow, I'm sure its kinda deep! I'll be up on Sunday and if its too deep, I'll clean off the rooftops.

Sea Tech is the BEST. Capt. Dennis Daniels puts on a great training and fully prepares you for the exam. I would highly recommend them!! Bill

Northern King is now making Lake Trolls. I don't fish for lakers, but they look to be well made. www.northernkinglures.com

That's a great picture Eric! No wonder they call you Maniac!
-
Jerry's right...28 for 28 was CRAZY good. I think we went 18 for 18 on day 1. Jerry's a hook FANATIC, and if he says he hooks and lands more fish with trebles, then it must be so. Dude, I can't wait to get back out on the REBEL again!!!!
-
Great pic Eric! He's certainly taking after you!!
-
Oh boy...here we go...off the top of my head: 6 brown trout setups 6 King setups 4 wire diver setups 4 leadcore setups 1 600' copper setup 4 noodle rod setups 4 braid setups 6 fly rods/reels 3 spinning rods/reels 3 rods/reels for the kids And probably a half dozen old rigger rods/reels that aren't in service any more. Now that I'm thinking about it, I probably need MORE!!!!!!!!
-
Never! Can't wait to show it to you Buddy. We'll be out in early April again looking for Mr. Brown...hope to see you then.
-
So Phil didn't see his shadow today. That means an early spring....any guesses as to when the boats start going in?
-
11 ft. beam and definitely no engine box! It has three Mag 20's on it now, but I'm probably going to go with a total of five.
-
Erby, it has twin 350 inboards.
