  1. Amen to that!
  2. A friend of mine has one, and it is very nice. Just read the directions. There are certain positions you cant rest it in or oil will leak out.
  3. I can't confirm the SM haven, but the ladders are just East of the chute. You will see small bluffs with ladders on them to get down to the lake.
  4. Yes, the GPS does show a track.
  5. They haven't entered the Estuary in any numbers at the Salmon River. I'd say there is still a few weeks left of good fishing in the lake.
  6. Great fishing at the Oak this morning. 100-130' 70' to the bottom. Best fly was an A-TOM-MIK white halo shred. Familiar Bite also did damage

  7. Raymarine makes some really nice stuff, and I've seen their chirp first hand this year on two different boats. In my opinion for what we do it's not necessary. Just like Humminbirds side and down imaging isn't necessary, and wont help you catch more fish for what we do. Not to mention most guys out there that cant use the 2D sonar they have correctly! Is it a nice tool to learn and have? YUP! However, the average guy getting out a few times a month, if that, doesn't need to waste money on that technology, again in my opinion. Here are some screen shots from my bird. Play with all of them and make your decision: Also, with Humminbird you get the ability to plug and play with a mulitfunctional screen unlike Furuno You have GPS, and can add Radar: There are also a ton of diferent color pallets to chose from. I like to use this at night or in the morning running:
  8. All units mentioned will do what you need. If you want any info on Humminbirds Vince P and myself run them, and we are very pleased with them.
  9. I agree! This kid is just bragging away on here, and giving shameless plugs. Look at me...Look at me.... There is a reports section on this great site where you can actually give details on the fishing out of your port. Specific lures, depths, and areas help people out, and believe me they will appreciate it!
  10. Good Quality line is a must! We run McCoy Mean Green 25lb test all season. When we are running spoons we leader down (Flouro) to 10lb for BT and 15lb for Salmon. When we are running 8" paddles we use 20lb flouro leaders, and when we run meat paddles its the mono straight to the paddle. You also need to make sure your line weights are rated for the action rods your using.
  11. It's just that time of year! The Salmon are transforming. Digestive systems are shutting down which means they are striking to feed necessarily, but out of anger. Sunday morning out of the Oak we went 12/31 on Salmon in 45-65' of water. Some days are better than others. Monday we went 6/12.
  12. Congrats to Paul Czarnicki and his Free Spirit for winning the 2014 King of the Oak. This is a really fun series, and we'd like to see it grow next season.
  13. They are starting to fire! 70' today so far it's been all Familiar Bite meat. Or @CannonFishing and divers. http://t.co/sOYezCaz2W

  14. Great inside evening bite! A-TOM-MIK white halo and hijackers took half. The other half ate Familiar Bite meat. http://t.co/HTQJatfpQV

  15. 29N line is where it's at. Kings and steel. Primarily a spoon bite.

  16. 1'to from the South. Looks good inside so we're giving it a go.

  17. DW Sea Sick Waddler is smoking on the 75' @CannonFishing out and down this morning! http://t.co/EMD8Fq2khy

  18. $100 entry at lake breeze, Narbys, or capt cove. Sign up by 7am, and weighin at 3pm at lake breeze. This event is also known as the Johnny V Memorial tourney. Hope to see you there and good luck! Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. I grew up fishing out of one of these! Great boat!
  20. Triple action on the 28N line! DW Blue bubble down 40, Familiar bite meat on the 100 @CannonFishing and 400 copper. http://t.co/no9eFFgOil

  21. Gold Sea Sick Waddler again takes the big guy down 70' on our Cannon out and down. http://t.co/CVi9UIQgCd

  22. 1-3s on the 27/28. Mostly a spoon bite. Frostbite, Sea Sick Waddler, and Blue Dolphin. Our @CannonFishing parked at 50-100.

  23. Bob gives awesome reports on Facebook. Join his charter page, and if he fishes the video report is there after his trip. I've been asking him to post them to his Twitter account. I might have to go personally set it up for him next year. It was not Brian. It's intention was to give reports as quick as possible to help people catch more fish from guys who are out there more than most. The problem is some of these guys have their Twitter account linked to their Facebook account, and they don't realize it. We've stressed to people about what info to Tweet about, but I feel some just don't get it. It could be a very helpful tool to the weekend angler if these Captains used it right, and they would get more exposure than they could ask for if they used it right. I try to monitor as best I can and delete the pleas for business, but I am not around enough sometimes. As for Motoman signing up.....NO! Well, maybe if he paid up his side bet he owes my brother from smoking his team at the Oak Orchard Open I'd think about it. #soarlosersyndrome
  24. The Familiar Bite in the ziplock bags, not the old tubs, seems to be holding up well this year. That's all we've been using, and it has worked well for us.
  25. Great bite out on the 28-30N line tonight. Spoon bite in the top 100'. Dreamweaver Blue Dolphin DUV and Blue Sparkle. http://t.co/Y7lBG6DqEc
