  2. Not a bad idea bro! Thanks!
  3. It's June 2nd Brian. We needed time to get the monies in the bank account. It would be too hard to do it on Saturday when we are all fishing if guys paid at the Captains Meeting. We'd hope everyone would have their monies in by the check deadline, but figured if someone hit it big the two weekends prior they might want to get into the OOO.
  4. I'm hoping to have the Registration form up by the end of the day bud. Just waiting on the committee to sign off on it. Taken from the form: Deadline to enter the tournament will be May 23rd if paying by check, and June 2nd if paying by cash. Entry into the event will be $400.
  5. Try Slippery Sinker in Olcott. I think I've seen it there pretty consistently. I hear ya, but try sliding a shower curtain down when the wind is trying to blow it back up the tow line. There is no weight with a shower curtain. If you are out recreationally then time is not a factor, but if I'm trying to put lines back out as fast as I can to produce fish on a charter or during a tourney I want to get it down there fast and keep it down there.
  6. Tournament Limit Catch is 10 fish. Only 5 may be salmon. The other 5 must be trout but may not include more than THREE lake trout. Legal Limit depends on how many guys you have on-board. If you fish with 5 guys like we do then your allowed 15 silvers and 10 LT. Does that clarify it?
  7. Our 454 is rumbling the whole time we are out there, and a 48" trolling bag is moving water, but we are hitting fish on a rigger back 50'. I don't think your kicker is spooking fish.
  8. Occasionally, I have had a line get in the slot in the back of the release. I am going to epoxy it closed in the next week or so. The rubber band inside these releases works well too, but then you have to keep bands in your pocket. It's just easier to clip in in my opinion.
  9. Nice! Headed to Canada this weekend, so I'll see ya next weekend!
  10. I think sometimes people over think things, and other times attention to detail is lacking in most peoples spreads. Spring BT fishing is all about being in the right water, and/or matching your spread to the water your in. Sticking with F7-F11 Raps, Small Thundersticks, and Shallow diving Smithwicks is the way to go. Other baits will work too, but they are great brands to start with. When we are fishing BT we keep our Moor which is 4-5' down between 1.8-2.0mph. Our GPS speeds have been 2.3-2.6 lately. We run 15lb main line and leader down to 8-10lb depending on the water clarity. Small black snaps attach the lures to our leaders. Staying in productive water is key, but this year that water is just about everywhere! Start off with hot colors on one board, and naturals on the other and let the fish tell you what they want. Same with your riggers. Bright on one and natural on the other. Once they tell you what they want flood the waters with it, but be careful as water moves, or dries up. Whats working at 7am might not at 12pm.
  11. I've fished one every weekend for the last 3, and it hasn't taken a weed! The same color in a different manufacturer has been our #1 spoon on the rigger for these BTs. They look awesome, but I am disappointed in it's performance.
  12. Where is the St Catharines game and fish boat ramp?
  13. Yup, your right. 6 series looks to put out enough power.
  14. I wouldn't recommend any Humminbird under a 7 series for what we do. 15. Here's that stick that was hot . Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. That kid is an amazing fisherman! I'd love to add him to our tourney team! We had the heater going in the cockpit all day. He never stepped foot inside to warm up. He even stayed out back when we were running down the lake. He is the most respectful and polite person I've met in a long time.
  17. Awesome pics! My father had us out there at that age. Keep up the great work of introducing him to the outdoors!
  18. Saturday 4/19 - We left the dock about 6:30am and choose to go West. We figured the traffic would be non-existent, and we were right. The only boats down there were the Hooked Up, and ours. The bite didn't start for us until about Long Pond, but the pocket at Braddocks was just silly! As many as you wanted! WE took our limit out of there with some nicer fish starting to show up. With the exception of one Steelbow, and a few Cohos, it was mostly a Brown Trout bite. We heard of a few Kings being taken in this water the past few days, but we just couldn't stumble upon one. We ran our 3 Cannons down 4'-7' and 50'-60' back, 6 flat lines from 120'-150' back, and two split shot rigs back 100'. Hot baits were the Stinger Glow Frog, Stinger Sea Sick Waddler, and Stinger Glow Mixed Veggies. As for stick baits Firetiger, Black and Silver, and Perch were all good. Mostly natural colors, but the bright stuff shinned in the dirtier water. FYI.....The Coho seemed to be a few feet deeper than the Brownies hitting Coho type stuff. Sunday 4/20 - Our clients that were supposed to fish the afternoon on 4/19 and the morning of 4/20 no call no showed, so we did the next best thing. Took the ol' man out for his maiden voyage for 2014. We left the dock around 6:30am and hooked left again headed West. The plan was to fish down to the Oak. We started at Cresent Beach, and the bite was just plain STUPID! From the Ponds to Lighthouse was AMAZING! 25 fish hit the deck before 8:30am. We were an Atlantic away from a Lake Ontario Grand Slam. We ended with 3 Kings, 3 Lake Trout, 3 Pike, 3 or 4 Coho, 2 Rainbows, and over 60 Brown Trout. Four guys worked the back of the boat slamming rods in as fast as we could after boating a fish. Our Cannon downriggers were firing with the Stinger Sea Sick Waddlers as well as the Glow Froggy back 50-60. Our hot sticks on the boards were two Bagley's we've never run before. One was a green and yellow, and the other was a black and silver. My brother picked them out in the dark thinking they were something else. They may see a little more soak time in the future! Other hot sticks were firetiger, white, and Perch. The Kings took both rigger boats as well as one of the Bagley's stick baits. It was a pretty amazing day! Another great stretch was from Eagle Creek to the small flats. We picked away at them there on our pass through.
  19. First shark of the season! Took a Bagley's stick off the board. http://t.co/Lafy15CFKP

  20. Found some great water west. 41 degrees, emerald green, and a ton of fish! Blue/silver, white, goby colors are hot. http://t.co/Ea7QbqW2Mu

  21. 1-3s from the NW. 44 degrees on the surface.

  22. Sweet! We try to recommend that to our clients this time of year. All but 3 fish were returned this past weekend for us. Good job again!
