  1. I think the problem here isn't the boards, but where you have your mast mounted. If your mast is on the very front of your boat even the slightest turn is going to result in one of the boards being pulled harder and the other to slow. Your pivot point is in the back of the boat because that's where the prop is. A small movement back there results in a much larger movement at the bow. I noticed this on friends boats in the early spring. On our last two rides we had our pulleys half way up the side of the boat on the Bayliner and a third up from the back on the Trojan. We don't see that start and stop as much, and I think it's because of this.
  2. We ran the 8' ML rods for BT's the last two seasons paired with the Accudepth Plus reels. Not a bad combo. Fit and finish on the rods wasn't the best, but that could have improved since then. Otherwise, a good choice at a great price!
  3. I didn't know I could get 10 colors on a 40. We have been running the 50 size for our 10 colors and our 300 coppers. We have out 5 colors on 40's. Either way you'll love them!
  4. Always a plus! If you have further questions about set up on the menu don't hesitate to ask. I can tweak it for you so you get the best reading. [ Post made via Android ]
  5. Since the Birds ducers are 83/200 you wont see the 50/200 in the menu until you hook one up to it. I know people who have put airmar ducers in 50/200 on bird units from the 700 series on up. The customer service reps wouldn't know this as they are just instructed to talk about the line that they have available. Really, only the engineers or technical people would have been able to tell you yay or nay in my honest opinion. BTW that ducer your looking at from Airmar is a good one! We had it on our Bayliner.
  6. What makes this board great! Nice job guys!
  7. There's no telling what chowin' down on some Goobies may do! Time will tell.
  8. Other states have this law. PA is one of them if I am not mistaken, and the boats out of Erie, PA would crush the amount of boats out on the south shore of Lake O on a nice summer day. I think it is smart to educate boat owners. Especially new ones.
  9. Great report! This weekend cant come soon enough.
  10. Yes it will. We have run 50/200 ducers on our birds fur a few seasons now. [ Post made via Android ]
  11. Bob - any clue if we are getting our whole allotment this Spring? Also, what temps are in the creek? Think we will be holding fish for long in these pens with such warm weather?
  12. Those 28 Bayliner trophy boats are nice fishing machines! [ Post made via Android ]
  13. Agreed! Lets see some pics!
  14. LOL....My brother has been out of there a few times this Spring. He has a line that gets him out of there with no issues. We are in our little aluminum rig which drafts next to nothing.
  15. Fished for an hour before we pulled lines and went to work on the boat. Water was dirty except for a little patch of grey/green water off the point. No hits, no runs, and no errors! As Scotty B would say it sucked! I'm all set with our aluminum rig. Time for some glass. Goin' in on Friday, and it can't come soon enough! Bruce - My brother wanted to play chicken with you today. We were the little yellow boat that was aiming for you before we picked up and went into Braddocks. So, next time you see him you can slap him around a lil bit.
  16. I'd put on 600, and mark it every 50' or 100'. This way you can be versatile and run it at multiple depths down the chute without having to buy multiple combos or reels.
  17. Nice video bud! What software did you say you were using?
  18. When we first bought them we watched a few fish follow for quite some time. I even watched a Coho go from 15' to 90' to hit my rigger in a Niagara Pro Am event. I don't think they are going to get fish to jump into your boat, but sometimes changing up a dead program with one has helped a few guys. It's one of those things we can't prove, but if it works then roll with it.

  20. I've been fishing on this lake for 25+ years, and I've seen a lot of fish, so my opinion might be skewed. Fun topic though, because everyone has their own definition of "trophy." I know mine is on the smaller side of the scale when it comes to whitetails. Salmon - For lake fish I have one on the wall that was 32lbs. Next one will have to be 35+lbs. If I were to mount a Fall run fish it would have to be 35+lbs. Steel - For lake fish I have one just over 17lbs on the wall, so the next one needs to be larger than that. I want a 15+lb stream fish for my wall badly. Brown - We screwed up here and tossed back one around 17/18lbs last Spring, and had a customer eat a 17lb fish last Spring. Basically, the next Lake run and Stream run Brown over 15lbs is going on the wall. Lake Trout - Another screw up last season. We caught a 24lb Laker in the Sandy Creek Shootout. No ice on board, and it was an all white ghost by weigh in skewed my view on getting a mount of this done. So, the next Laker over 21 or 22 pounds will get a seat on my wall. I have a 6.5lb Largemouth on the wall from Conesus, but I could never get a Smallie from Erie over 5.7, so a 6+lb Smallie is also on the hit list. I'm still waiting for my 40" Pike through the ice.
  21. Perfect! Enjoy your trip! Lots of good fisherman down there!
