We had a bad oil pressure regulator, I think, that was giving us that issue too. Krenzer had us up and running in a week.

This is in the wrong forum, but I have the SST-2 and its a great reel. I have used an islander once, but not enough to say it's worth the extra cash. Check out Salmon Crazy's forums for a better answer. A lot of pinners on that site.

When I bought my Grizzly I went in looking at the 450 models. Then I saw the 660 models were just a little bit more, and then there was the 700 EFI model. For just a little more money I could have that. So I bought the 700! I am happy I did though because the rest were all carb machines. The EFI really is nice during hunting season and riding in the winter. Good luck on your purchase. I was looking with the ex about a year ago at machines for her. Its tough to find a machine for smaller women. These things are so big and powerful now a days that they look dumb on them quit honestly, and there is no way they can control those big machines.

PM me with what our looking to spend. I ride with an older guy who has a Polaris Sportsman 500FI with about 600 miles on it. He really wants to get something a little bigger. I don't know what he wants to get out of it, but my experience from looking at used ATV's is either they are crap and cheap or barely used and asking a lot of money.

Wire Line...Single Strand vs. Briaded
Yankee Troller replied to pmjasper's topic in Tackle and Techniques
We started with single strand. It will work fine. I would say the 7 strand is easier to work with though. -

I've been happy with Costanza's too in the past. A little pricey I guess, but you get what you pay for. -

We bought a new boat for Lake O sportfishing, so this means it is now time to sell our Bayliner. A lot of memories were had on this boat, and many fish were caught in this boat up and down Lake Ontario's south shore. A lot of money was put into this boat in 2010 to keep her running great. My brother, father, and I were pro-active rather than reactive when it came to maintenance. We needed it in tip top shape for our customers (15 trips a year), and for tournament fishing which we really enjoyed doing. This boat will make a great boat for a family who wants a weekend floating cottage, or for a few guys who want a fishing machine! This boat is ALWAYS stored inside during winter months, and only stays in the water at a dock during the month of May. A Mercruiser 5.7lt w/ Alpha 1 Outdrive powers her, and a compression check by Krenzer Marine in August showed the motor was in great shape. Oil changes every 100 hours. There are dual commands, which makes this boat a breeze to dock. Boat Specs Called a 25' boat, but she spans 28' from pulpit to swim platform and has a 9'6" beam with no motor hump (dog house). This is a VERY big 25' boat. Dry weight 5700lbs Fuel Capacity 102 Gal Water Capacity 30 Gal Holding Tank 13 Gal Draft Drive up 1'11" Draft Drive down 3'3" Deadrise at Transom 18.5" Maintenance in 2010: Complete Tune up (Plugs, wires, cap, rotor) New Water pump NEW Water impeller NEW Starter NEW Oil pressure regulator NEW Thermostat NEW Prop Boat amenities: Full enclosed head with shower Stove Refrigerator Sink with hot water heater Sleeps 4 singles or 3 couples C shaped dinette Dual batteries w/ perko switch (New in 2008) Shore power Maserator Swim platform with ladder Trim tabs Standard Horizon VHF Radio at both helms Spare Prop Airmar SS60 Transducer for Humminbird Fish Finder (Thru-Hull Professionally installed by Krenzer marine) Bottom Paint done in 2007 Upholstery done in 2008 Raw water wash down Traxstech 4' tracks on each side of the boat w/ end caps We are asking $10,000 OBO. Call us with any questions 585-704-7996. All fishing equipment has been taken off the boat. Scotty 1106 Downriggers, Depth Raider, and Cicso Rod Holders are available for an extra cost if you are interested in them.

What to Use At 200'
Yankee Troller replied to stan's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
Stan - I know your fish aren't as big as ours for the most part, but a tight release will get the hook to stick and then all you have to do is play catch up. Your leads at that depth shouldn't be too long. -

20lb weights help out tremendously. 15lb weights can get the job done. -

I do remember saying that Mick, but how can you beat the room? OK, I dont want this thread hi-jacked as I feel Stan has a good question that many people are interested in hearing about. More and more people are fishing deeper for these fish lately. -

I tried McCoy's Ice fishing line over the last year thinking it would shed water/ice better. It did a fair job of it, but I wasn't WOW'd. Another Winter of testing, and then I think it's time for some fresh line. Sufix makes a cool orange and yellow monofiliment that I heard sells great at Fat Nancy's bought by pinners.
