  1. If you run out to the 28N line and set-up its been HOT.....just keep trollin North once you set-up.
  2. Trolled it for a few hours. Threw paddles and plugs at them and ended with a 0. Not even a sniff. Last 30 minutes of light a few were jumping around. Will be back out Saturday morning!
  3. I was there last night from 6-8 trolling the mouth and scored a blank! Fish were jumping as it got dark out though.
  4. There really isn't another board out there that will run like an otter boat. Ive pulled 6 and 700 coppers off them (with one keel) and they perform great! They handle a chop very well too. Remember 9.5' in front of the knot and 11.5" on the rear. MANY guys have jumped ship to the otters in the last couple of years. I've spoken with all the in-line board pros (Canadians) on how to make them pull to the side more, and I have never seen one pull to the side like a line off the otter boat. Once you get good at reading the otter you can tell if there is a small fish being towed.
  5. Sweet! I'll be trolling the mouth tonight!
  6. That's mainly from the 3oz sinkers with hooks in them!
  7. Nice report Paul! I missed it up there this weekend! Can't wait till next year.
  8. I'm on both!
  9. So I got down there about a 6:15. Put the Kayak in, realized I had no life preserver, and went fishing. Paddled out to the mouth and back casting along the way. On my way back right below the Yacht Club I felt the J-Plug hit the back of a Salmon. 3 Cast later One WHACKS it. FISH ON! I was fishing with my 9'6" Daiwa Noodle Rod, a 2500 Daiwa Exceler Reel, 8lb test McCoy, and a #3 Orange J-Plug. Now, remember I was in my Kayak, and it was only the 3rd time I had ever Kayaked! It made for one heck of a battle as this fish drug me up and down the creek. People at the Yacht Club lined up to watch! Well, it took me a good 10 minutes to tire him out and get to the bank. I was rewarded with a beautiful 18lb Female Chinook. I left around 8pm with that being the only action of the night.
  10. LOL....not to mention 12 miles off shore!
  11. Blue too? Huh....I've never been a HUGE blue guy, but what can a few more spoons hurt?
  12. Did the lake flip AGAIN? It was almost back to 70 degree water and yesterday it went back to 50's?
  13. Do whatever you want with them, but I'll take a few in Lake O! Could you imagine a Rainbow winning the Fall LOC? What about a 30lb Rainbow leaping out of the water?
  14. This has been my BIGGEST issue this year! I tie my own harnesses so I cant blame anyone but myself. I was using a Owner Stinger #2 Treble. These were just too lite. While I was at Captains Cove I saw that same hook in a 3X strong. I have since ordered a dozen packs and plan to give them a shot next spring. I will also be trying double octopus hooks next year. Tight drags don't help this either. Mine tend to be tighter than others. I hate when a fish takes more than a couple hundred feet of line!
  15. I spoke too soon! We burned out one last weekend, but as JAX said we use these reels a lot! Back to Daiwa it goes for service and a cleaning!
  16. Bob, Glad your doing OK! Nice to see you back on the water, and a few fish on a tough weekend doesn't hurt either.
  17. That time of year you have to look around the Oak. The fishing is top notch! I know there is a bunch of rentals around there. Call 4C's marina and they should be able to put you in tough with something.
  18. 9/12 - We headed out to 40' of water to give that same line a try from the previous week. The screen looked decent, but the fish that were there had lock jaw! We played in there for an hour or so before we made the decision to head offshore. We set up on the 28N line and worked our way out to the 34N line. We picked fish the whole way out and then on the way back. The waves made for some interesting footwork. Each member of the crew fought their fish sitting on the cooler. At times we had waves as high as our flybridge. It wasn't very fun, but at least the fish were cooperating. We ended up going 6-14. Mostly Steelies in the 4-9lb range and a small King. Our program consisted of Stinger Gator Glows on the corner rigger parked at 60', Stinger 42nd's parked at 65 on the other corner rigger, and NK Copper NBK's on the center rigger parked at 50. Our wires set on a 3 setting out 120 and 150 took a few shots with an NK 42nd Mag and a Dreamweaver Gator Mag. The 10 color down the chute (knot in the water) popped a few times pulling a Dreamweaver VQ Green Dolphin. 9/13 - On this morning we figured we would give the wall a shot considering a few boats took 2-4 Salmon off it the morning prior. Well, by the time we got out there were 25 boats trying to fish 1 wall. We made one pass and that was enough battle for me! So we headed out the Steelies we played with the day before. We stopped in on the 29N line and trolled out to the 32N line. We took 1 shot in about an hour on a Stinger gator Glow down 60 on the corner rigger. Waves weren't as bad as the day before, but it still wasn't any fun out there. One guy got really sick so his crew felt bad for him, and we headed back to the dock.
  19. Rob, You should know better than to run your boards in all that traffic! A$$hole! LMAO
  20. Penn Yan 88 Maniac
  21. That's a good bet Anthony. Cant hurt! But, don't waste the time in there if rods aren't poppin! I'll bring my laptop and try to post a report Saturday afternoon from 4C's marina. Give you guys an idea for Sunday maybe. Who knows maybe I'll blank on Saturday!
  22. Sounds to be slow, but you wont know unless your out there!
  23. If your on the3 West side and don't mind running out deep the Steelies and immature kings are out there.
