  1. Its a 240 Fisherman so its 24' long.
  2. Easy on Mike guys. He is just trying to inform you of a product we have been testing over the past few months. There has been a lot of interest in this from tackle shops on the East end when they were shown how it runs in the water. This is actually an underwater video of it on youtube with a SmartFish behind it. I think the concept is great and I love changing the depth of your diver without tripping the mechanism. Like I said, give Ol' Mike a break. He's just trying to help out a friend.
  3. Yeah, that is great! I couldn't believe it when I ran them. STRAIGHT down fishing 200' down on the cable. 15's are all the average joe needs. Check out the 13lb Ridgeback Rattlers too if you plan on fishing the top 100'.
  4. You talkin about Black Creek? I was thinking of bringing the yak up there right where it enters the river.
  5. I just bought a Kayak, and I would love to get into this stuff. great trip!
  6. Thats really not a good thing this year! I mean that is if you want to catch fish. However, Top Gun did pull up on my point last weekend and smoked them while all I could take was Lakers.
  7. Oh yeah, that Cherokee is SWEET!
  8. I wish! Im suckin' it up this year.
  9. Hey Matt, next time you run by me 6 times in a weekend can you get my pic!
  10. Paul, I appreciate your volunteering!
  11. I agree Duane! Michelle and Brandi have really tried to get what the fisherman want into that store! It's too bad that it's such a seasonal business and the winters take such a harsh toll on their income. I send my customers there for lodging and I know myself and my brother have dropped some pretty good coin in there buying tackle we don't need!
  12. Oh nice! Just like mine. Yeah, I need 1 more per side too.
  13. Yup
  14. Get the new one! I have heard some great things about it. Yes, it is critical to have one on board. Will you catch fish without it? Heck yea! Will you catch more with one? Can't say you will. What i will say though is you will have peace of mind knowing your lure speed, and you will also have some good info as far as temp is concerned. That comes in handy on a slow day. This way you can put your lures in the right area.
  15. He didn't win it in 600' of water. For some reason he had to do a fakey each morning. Both Saturday and Sunday he headed NW out to 400 then hooked right and ran East 10-20 miles. Saturday he ran past me about 6:30 heading east past Sandy creek. I saw him come back by me on the way in. Sunday he pulled the same fakey and headed over to Devils Nose once he reached 400 or so. That's where he won it. Not, the part that pizzes me off is what the heck was he doing in the same area i was in that I was doing wrong?!?!?!?!?!? Maybe he ran north looking for a temp break for steelhead and never found it, so he went to shallower fish. I dont know.
  16. I would if I were you! I saw a picture from a captain out of Sodus this weekend with a pair of 15lb Browns! I even resorted to looking for some BT's this weekend. And I plan on looking for them heavily on the east end. And all you have to do is just put some light floro leaders on your salmon gear bud.
  17. Dude, I passed right by it the other day and never took a moment to look. What set-up did you get?
  18. He has been seen lurking out on the lake with enough downriggers for 2 boats! He fishes for Brown Trout becasue they hang in the shallows which means he doesn't have to spend much money on gas. His "real" business is garage doors, but i think that's so he can hang out with everyone's wives while they are at work! This is the face he impresses them with! Sorry for the picture quality. I wasn't operating the camera.
  19. Friday (Practice/Pre Tourney) - We hit the water on Friday after hearing about a decent steelhead bite. We dropped in at 70 right out front to check the King waters and trolled on a due North heading. We took our first shot around the 200' mark and it ended up being a 10lb King that took our 140 wire diver set on a 3 pulling a Dreamweaver SS Gator. It would be a while until we took our next fish. We trolled out to 550 and then headed South East towards Devil's Nose. Once we hit the inside water there we ran into the motherload of Lakers. We took a 10lb fish and being 1:30 we made the decision to toss it back. WRONG MOVE! A few minutes later we took a 6lb Laker, and tossed that one back. One took a Wondebread SmartFish pulling a Hammer fly and the other took a Northern King Glow Coyote. About 1:45 the 300 copper starts to sing. This fish took a few nice runs and when it got to the boat we knew we had a big guy. He took a White w/ Green Dot SmartFish pulling an A-TOM-MIK Ultra Green Glow Live Series fly. On our Berkley boga scale he just misses the 25lb mark weighing in at 24.85lbs. So, after we boxed that fish we tried to scramble for another big lake Trout and just couldn't do it. We did grab us a small 6lb King that hit our center rigger, but we tossed his back to live another day. So, at the captains meeting they announced the winners of the little pre tourney. If we had made the right decisions during the day we could have taken the 5th biggest box of the day and most likely the biggest fish of the day. Saturday (Day 1) - We headed over to Devil's Nose first thing. We took 2 nice Lakers and a couple of Kings there late in the day on Friday, so the decision wasn't a hard one. Well, the Lakers took no time at all! We boxed a couple of nice Lake Trout off SmartFish/A-TOM-MIK combos. One off the wire diver and the other off the 300 copper. We worked that area looking for a couple of Kings, but we never got bit. So we worked our way down to the Sandy creek area where we would pick up two fish. One King and one Steelhead. The Steelhead took a mixed Veggies Singray Stinger off our 10 color, and the King took a Dreamweaver SS Silver w/ Green Glow tape off our rigger parked down 40'. We would end the day by pulling into 30-40' off the nose to see if any Brown Trout were around and took two shots, but lost them both. One off a 5 color core towing a stinger Stingray Black Wiggler, and another off the rigger with a Stinger Copper Glow Green Alewife. We ended the day in the middle of the pack, but within striking distance of a check. Out of about 40 teams on day 1 there was 1 12 fish box, 1 10 fish box, 2 7 fish boxes, and the rest of the field had 6 or less. Sunday (Day 2) - Well, day 2 we decided to hang out in front of the Oak because some big guys were caught there the last two days. We managed to take a small Steelhead out of there but that was it. So, we made the run down to the nose and had our two Lakers in a matter of 30 minutes. We worked the area to see if there were any kings in it and we did take one off our center rigger while we were hooked up with a Laker. The King took a Dreamweaver SS Gator and the Lakers took White SmartFish/A-TOM-MIK combos. We worked that area a little more and even checked inside for Browns without another touch. We then made the decision to take a run out to 450' of water to try for some steelhead. With 30 minutes left to fish we took one on a slide diver pulling a Stingray Gator. When it was all said and done we stayed right were we started the day in 22nd place.
  20. Anthony.....there is an open division you might want to check out. That gives you Friday-Sunday of 3 small tourneys (1 per day) only requiring 3 fish at the scales, and no observer. You can fish wherever you want to fish on the Lake too.
  21. Good job bud! Its nice to see you getting into some fish.
  22. tell him to head towards 4c's marina and he will pass right by it. The overpass is the one for the parkway.
  23. I agree with Paul. I have used both the Albright knot and the swivel, and the swivel has cost me one fish. However if the Albright knot is tied right either will work.
