  1. I'm draggin my GF there Saturday morning since we will be in the area Friday night watching Larry the Cable Guy!
  2. Daiwa Heartlands would be my choice too. I ordered 2 of these for my 600 and 700 copper for the 2009 season: Salmon Hot Shotting & Trolling HL-SS 761HFB H F 7'6" 1 10 - 25 1/2 - 6 9 The dipsey rods that everyone uses are a H action rod, and this rod has the same action that they do. I haven't run it yet, as I just received my order last week, but I do look forward to running it. My reason for a shorter copper rod is b/c this is generally my "chute" copper rig. Therefore, I like to have a shorter rod for this so the distance between the tip of the rod, and where the line meets the water is the shortest I can get it. This serves two purposes. 1. That point where it hits the water is closer to the back of the boat for fish fighting purposes. You can control a fish when he is closer to the boat better than when he is 100' behind the boat. This makes it easy to go either over or under the copper rod that is out the back. 2. When you aren't running all 600' out there will be some copper out of the water. minimizing this will allow you to have to let less line out to achieve where you want to be. To have 300 out with a long rod might mean you really have 350 or 375 out, but on a shorter rod it could be 325.
  3. Those tigers are so pretty. We caught on there last April:
  4. Not a problem! You wont be disappointed with the product. Service on the other hand I can't guarantee, which is about the only downfall of the company.
  5. I went through Cisco. Go to their website and get the contact info. They always seem to be backed-up, which I guess is a good and bad thing. I don't think rod holders are their everyday business. They are a machine shop. Im pretty sure Maniac and TallTails went the same route as I did.
  6. Yeah, that was the 30lb fish from the Oak. You should have stopped by. Would have been nice to put a face with a name.
  7. I have played with them all! It took me about a year to decide what I wanted to do. One thing that I didn't like with Traxtech, Berts, Big John, and Vector was you were limited to certain positions. Where ever there was a groove or hole was the position you HAD to have. When I saw the Cisco's in action I said now there is the ULTIMATE rod holder. It locks in ANY position you want it to. On top of that it swivels 360 degrees. There isn't a position it cant go in! One recommendation I do have, if your boat allows, is to put them on a Traxstech track. It just gives you that much more flexibility. On some of the older models I have sen some of the hardware in the mount start to rust. A call to Cisco and that problem is taken care of. Recently one of the partners died from cancer. So the owner has some issues meeting deadlines and if you want a colored rod holder he waits till he has a minimum order for that color before he produces it. So, what I am trying to say is if you like these I would put your order in now. Below are some pictures of mine in action. In the first pic you are looking at (from left to right) copper off the board, high wire, low wire, and the corner rigger rod. Looking at the two wires there is no way any other rod holder would allow you to keep both of them that low. Again, becasue you are limited to their hole or groove. Good luck in your endeavor! its a one time purchase so buy what works for you and remember to allow your decision to be flexible in the future if you want to add on.
  8. I'll never leave home without my 600 copper whether its fishing Wilson in May the Oak in July/August or Oswego for a tourney. The majority of the fish might not be down there................BUT THAT'S WHERE THE SLOBS ARE!
  9. And that's with a spoon. You go to 20 per 100 with flasher fly set-ups, so I have been told by the originators.
  10. Can you run through those like you can run through a sprinkler?
  11. Good job! Yes, I am hooked too!
  12. Clarke, No one wants to sleep with you!
  13. Shade, Sorry I couldn't help. I'm young and only know the present spoon companies. Didn't want you to think I ignored your PM.
  14. Dave, how long is it supposed to be? I only saw about an 1/8 of the video. Then it went blank.
  15. That's a good lookin Bayliner in the beginning of that video! I'm loading the small version, and it isn't too bad. Definitely not fast! Regardless its an awesome thing to watch this time of year.
  16. OMG......that was funny!
  17. Just stopin' in to say hi to everyone!
  18. All I'm sayin is cooler ju ju juice! It can make even a big mane loose his lunch!
  19. Nothing here either, and they are supposed to be post marked by Jan. 31st.
  20. Rappy, You have taken the cake for being the neatest!
  21. I cant get enough of this river fishing for some reason! I rode up Sunday morning and met Andy Bliss and his friend Ricky at Fat Nancy's Tackle shop (where I dropped another 40 bucks on tackle). Not to be confused with the other Ricky while on the boat my code name was Magic Man for the day and his was El Diablo! OK, lets shake and bake! <-----If you dont understand any of that....watch the movie Talledega Nights! We hit the water around 8 a.m. at Altmar and floated down the river till about 3 p.m. Unlike the previous trips I have made the weather on Sunday was enjoyable. OK, so we are floating down the river and I have had some great luck this winter on a blue glo bug. So, I was content on catching one on the Salmon River on this blue glo bug. Well that didn't take long! I was locked into a nice Brownie and the results were Magic Man 1 Fish 0! So, after short while and watching El Diablo hook and land a few Steelies I switched over to the bag in hopes of a steelhead. Well, it didn't take long and I was locked up again. But guess what? It was another Brownie. So, now its Magic man 2 fish 0. A short way down the river and that little float goes under. Guess what? Yup, another Brownie. Are you getting the picture here? Its looking like a Brownie kind of day. So at the end of the entire trip the results for the boat were: Magic Man - 4 for 7 (all BT landed) El Diablo - 3 for 3 (all Steelhead landed) Captain/Guide/Paddler/Goon - 2 for 3 (1 BT. 1 SH) Andy's SH he landed was a very nice fish and when we went to take a picture his camera was dead. By the way if you ever want to fish on the Salmon River it is a pre-requisite that you learn the proper way to use the word GOON. Don't ask me why. That's just the way it is. I also want all PRO Pro-Am participants to be very cautious of me this year. With the experience of last years Sodus tourney (where I actually went BT fishing) and the BT in the rivers I might throw you a curve ball by doing a little more Trout fishing! I think I have them figured out! Here are some pics:
