  1. I'm here to help you fisherman with your style. Looks are generally what first impressions are based upon. You don't want people to think your some redneck do you? Roll with me and I'll show all of you how to look good!
  2. I have only had one Dipsey Diver that would not stay put, so i dont think that problem is all that common. Maybe a bad batch was sent out, but I wouldnt throw ourt ur dipseys to go buy another brand. i woud run them side by side though and once your comfy with a Walker Deep Diver then slowly switch over.
  3. Lucky! I want to kill a bear!
  4. I have no gripe about a tax if its going for improving that certain program, but look at other things the govt. taxes us for to pay for programs not related to it. Someone mentioned the thruway tolls above to help offset canal projects. What about ATV registrations in NY? I cant find a damn place to ride around here. Closest place is over an hour away. Until very recently you paid tax on gas you put in your boat and none of that was going towards marine projects. It all went to the roads, and the people who sit on the guard rail when they fix them.
  5. Yeah, did you hear bout that! A FAT tax! I'm screwed!
  6. This is the first I have heard about this. What a bunch of bullchit! Damn Democrats at ti again with their taxes. This state is ridiculous, and the freebies need to stop! However, until the republicans find a way to win over NY (Which will probably never happen) this is the chit we will have to deal with. Hank, We all look forward to whatever you find!
  7. I was supposed to hit up Conesus for some SM, but slept in. I was very pissed when I woke up and saw it was almost noon. I NEVER sleep that late even when I'm out all night. Oh well, I'll b out all winter as long as it is above 35.
  8. Ya see! There ya go! Crocs or Fivefingers will help ya out in that situation and the crocs are REAL comfy. BTW....i hear ur gonna have one in the oven REAL soon. Is that true?
  9. Sneakers get wet and then smell! With all the fish I catch there is a lot of deck washing.
  10. Placement of the rods: The "Low Diver" should be closest to the back of the boat and the most parallel to the water. The “High Diver†should be a little bit behind the “Low Diver†and the tip of the rod should be elevated slightly above the “Low Diver.†First off it helps if you have two different length rods. On our boat we use Daiwa Heartland Rods. The "Low Diver" or "Deeper Diver" is the shorter of the two rods measuring 9'6". The "High Diver" or "Shallowest Diver" is a 10'6" rod. Both of which are spooled up with 1000' of 30lb 7 strand trolling wire. Once you get used to this set-up it is a very simple presentation to deploy. This is to place both the High and Low diver in the water at the same time. Loosen the drag on the Low diver and let it go at a fast creep. With the High diver I let it out on the clicker. Watch your counters and when they get to the amount of feet out stop them and set the drags. For the first timer? Here is how I would deploy them. Let your high diver out and set it where you want it to be. Next, take you Low diver and place it in the holder. Let it out on a slow drag.
  11. Cant.....you need the cable for the signal. If you have a Fish hawk I would suggest the Palomar knot for any Braid.
  12. I would hit up his website and contact him. http://www.sharkcannonballs.com/homepage.html
  13. Stan, A shark weight will track really nice. If your comparing a 15lb shark to a 15lb ball then there is no comparison. The ball will give you a lot more blow back. It truly is night and day. Now I run the 15lb sharks on 250lb power pro. The power pro alone is amazing at how it helps with blow back. I have fished the 15lb shark down to 150 with no issues, but start going past that and you will see a considerable amount of blow back. Like I told shark when he e-mailed me with this new proposal, which was supposed to be 25lbs, no-ones riggers will be able to handle that weight, and manufactures wont cover warranty claims when they happen since it is over the recommended capacity. So, he finally realized a 20lb would be just as good. Going from a 12lb shark to a 15lb shark is a night and day observation, and that's only a 3lb jump. Going from a 15 to a 20 should be twice as good as good.
  14. All I have is black
  15. Thanks Eric! I know you've been wanting to get up here, and I havent forgot about you. I have a line on some Niagara River fishing. Just you wait!
  16. How bout you give me $250 and I'll save you $750!
  17. yup! Those sharks cant get too deep now. I watched them down 250 all of May come afternoon off the bar.
  18. I took my first Drift Boat trip with Chasin Tail Adventures on Wednesday. I have never really steelhead fished other than the lifting I did when I was young and dumb. After the trip I had on Wednesday I am HOOKED! I would HIGHLY recommend this guide service. He knew all the holes to hit and does this EVERY DAY September-December. For all you lake guys out there that LOVE to see a wire diver hit you will love the method used in a drift boat called "pluggin." It's a method of hanging your lures right in the face of a steelhead as you slowly drift down stream. Kinda like a back troll. The steelhead love this method! OK, lets talk about the trip. We put the boat in at first light, and at the first spot Andy hands me the float rod. While he is telling me what to do and look for the float goes under. I lift up and "FISH ON" and very quickly "fish off!" I guess you have to set the hook, which is a tough thing to do with a 10' noodle rod. We fish a little more and nothing. We finally make it to a hole and we start whackin them. Much to my surprise in that hole I landed an Atlantic Salmon about 10 inches long. What a pretty fish! We go a little further and we do some more fish. Float fishing is fun, but I heard of this method called pluggin and I ask if we can do it. Once we got to a part of the river that Andy says was worthy of the method we deployed the rods. It didn't take long and we were 0 for 3. We get out of that hole and float fish for a while and then right before we end the day we plug another spot. We landed 2 real nice fish out of there using the pluggin method. Total on the day was 7 for 13. Biggest was estimated around 9 or 9.5 pounds. The temp went from 40 to 25 throughout the day, which from my understanding is not the prime time for steelhead to eat. Here are some pics: The Boat: The Guide: My best three on the day:
  19. I had 2 Okuma Magda Pro's and 4 Accudpeth Plus 27's for my BT set-ups. Just want everything to match.
