  1. I got my data from the Fish Doctor and his depths for copper are at a 2.7MPH surface speed. Once you increase that to 3.1, similar to core, it will rise. Regardless, it still gets way deeper than core and it catches fish!
  2. Paul - how long are you in Wilson for this year? Your not gonna leave early again are u?
  3. Well, I finally got my laptop back and functional, so here is the picture of that 15lb Salmon i caught out of Sandy.
  4. There was some color in spots, but for the most part it was clear. I wish I got on the water earlier, but when your fishin with senior citizens they need thier sleep.
  5. Put our lines in around 7:15 and headed west, which is where the least amount of boat traffic was. Got to the beach and fish on. 200' lead on a black and silver Yo-Zuri. We got about 100' of line on him and he takes a 200' run. I thought we had our second king of the season on. Turned out to be a FAT 12lb Brown. We turned around at Devils nose and headed back to Sandy and right when we got to the first point west of Sandy another board line takes off. This fish didnt fight very hard and we figured it to be a small Brown, but were amazed at the size of it when we boated it. I didnt see a scale like the 12lb fish, but we guessed it at 8-9lbs. This fish took a clear/blue bomber 200' back. Picked up around 11:30 and headed in. We went 2 for 2 but both were great fish. The pictures on the first one dont do it justice. It was actually bigger than the one in the second picture girth wise. We put both of them back for Jerry to catch later on in the summer!
  6. Yeah, Bass are illegal to keep in my boat too unless its for a tourney. But they get released after the weigh in to fight another day so its not technically keeping them.
  7. The launch wa actually very good. I imagine that in about 4 months Ill be scraping the bottom of my boat again when getting it on the trailer. BTW....I saw more Walleyes today on that lake then Bass. It was amazing! They were all in the shallows in pairs, but I didnt see any spawning going on. They were very skiddish.
  8. Hit the water around 7am with no idea of what we were in store for. It was a great day weather wise and fishing wise. The bass were stacked up in 1' of water out to the first drop. Find a rocky bottom and thats where the fish were. Crankbaits, jerkbaits, and roboworms did the trick. If you saw them it was too late and they became REALLY spooky. Our special treat was the Tiger Musky! It hit a $45 jerkbait my buddy was throwing. I took my time getting the net as I was hoping that Musky would eat an expensive meal! You should have seen the sweat pourin from his forehead while that fish rolled with the bait in his mouth on 8lb McCoy line.
  9. Bass are catch and release all year long now. Yo9u canonly keep them during the season. When you catch one now it has to be an imidiate release.
  10. HOPEFULLY you'll be hearing from me soon.
  11. What S&T did you go with? Good job, and Im sure your son will remember this forever.
  12. Silver and Black baby! There has never been a meaner team than the Raiders.
  13. pancakes are a huge pain in the arse. If you want to run them on the outside u need to bend the fins so they wont swim as much. On the back riggers you need to switch to regualr cannon balls. You shuold look into the ridgeback rattlers or the sharks as they run pretty true down deep with out the swiming action of a pancake.
  14. I spent the morning on Jax's boat banging the beach out of Sandy and just as we were gonna pull to go to breakfast bang fish on. It was a 3lb brown. So we said 10 more minutes. 10 minutes later fish on again. This one went 2lbs. So we pull rods and go in. In the mean time I was getting ready for my old man to meet me at Sandy with the YT for her shakedown cruise. Sitting there at the launch letting the boat warm up to see if she wants to over heat and up pulls Legacy (rob) I ask if he want to ride for a few hours and he says sure. So out we go around 1:30 and we headed east. Not a touch so we turn around and go west of Sandy. Almost to the pump house and the inside rod off the board on the starboard side releases. I grab it and hand it to Rob thinking it was a brown. WRONG!!!!! Line starts SCREAMING out. I'm like "you got a nice brown on dude or you lightened the drag? He would get it 100' behind the boat and out it would go again. Now I'm like this is no Brown. 10 minutes later its in the net and we are all high fivin over a 14.14lb SALMON! It took a clown colored rapala husky jerk 150' back.
  15. There are always kings around! You just need to run to them.
  16. Thats only becasue I have had more experience with them hog browns the past few weeks Bill. I've weighed a few 7-8lbers. But I'm not braggin or anything.
  17. There you go again Tom! You have it all backwards. I didn't have and small baits on board so I was trying to show you how big the fish really was.
  18. Jax, I hear this is the stuff to buy: http://www.amishoutfitters.com/pbline.htm
  19. Yeah...no such thing! You would be amazed at how many tricks these two know about with a camera. They can make 3lb browns look big with crappie sized lures hanging from thier mouth.
  20. Ill tell ya what I cant wait for.......is to have a captains meeting at once place and move it to another to discuss the rules! Yipee!!!!! LMAO I hope that doesnt happen this year. But, you should all know I'll be fishing all four again this year. I just hope im not as inconsistent as last year.
  21. I almost forgot to tell everyone that Bill and I put a SD/fly out on a rigger for a little while! You cant say we were thinking big time!
