Where do you fish? Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Lake Ontario United mobile app -
Yup, $1300 for the cable and $1600 for the Hydraulic. They've gone up a little bit this year.

Lowrance and Simrad make an outboard pilot for around $1000. We've installed a few at Krenzer Marine. You need a Lowrance or Simrad to run it.

In the market for new sonar gps combo.
Yankee Troller replied to blacksquirrel2's topic in This Old Boat
Humminbird HELIX. Stick with the Sonar/GPS model only. -
As long as you have 10" of clearance behind your helm we can put an octopus drive on there and you can have AP. We've installed them with Si-Tex and Garmin AP's and they work great. If you're interested shoot me a PM. I am the service manager at Krenzer Marine and handle all Electronic sales.

CHIRP transducers have half the cone angle as traditional ducers. 50khz ducers are 45* cones. CHIRP ducers are at best 30* and most times less than 25*. They are also 3 times the money and all you get is a crisper image. If you're bottom fishing/jigging then it's a great ducer, but for trolling it's not ideal. -

You can Network ECHOMAP units together. You CAN'T network an ECHOMAP with a GPSMAP. You also can't install Radar down the road and use an ECHOMAP. Whatever you do DON'T get CHIRP sonar. Stick with a 50/200 or 83/200 transducers. I an drop ship whatever you want. We sell a ton of Garmin and Humminbird at Krenzer Marine. You can't go wrong with either. -
Bait fish
Yankee Troller replied to Captsmate's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
Alewife are the main forage base for Salmon, Trout, and Walleye in Lake Ontario. As far as the St. Lawrence goes I can't comment on that, but I would think it's the same. That being said there are Smelt, Emerald Shiners, Gizzard Shad, Gobies, Bloaters, and a bunch of other species these fish can munch on. -
Some say the natural reproduction meets or exceeds what is stocked. Most coming from North Shore tributaries.

Morning: Great mix of fish today! This kid experienced Lake Ontario at it's best. He caught the biggest fish of his life wieghing in at 21lbs, and got his first ever limit of Salmon. That's what this job is all about. We boated an Atlantic Salmon, Coho Salmon, obviously some Chinook Salmon, and a Steelbow. At the end of the day we dropped a small Late Trout behind the boat, so we were a Brown Trout short of a slam. Familiar Bite took a good portion of our Chinook, as well as the largest of the day. A-TOM-MIK coppers in 300 & 400' lengths, Downriggers from 50-100', and divers out 175' are the set-ups that took fish. FishUSA's DW Martel and the Rod Father were our best spoons. We fished from 90-150' most of the day a click or two West. At one point we wandered out as far as 225', but screen wasn't great out there. Afternoon: Our Sunday afternoon trip with some local Rochestarians stared out great, but slowed after the first few hours. No big surprise though after looking at the lunar table. We set up on a minor. We fished 90-110' most of the night. Spoons that took fish were DW Lazer Spook and FishUSA's Glow Roy Boy. Familiar bite meat also took a couple shots. Our Cannon Downriggers fished from 45-80', A-TOM-MIK copper in 300', and wire divers out 150 all took fish. The last 30 minutes we slid in and went 1/3 on Brown Trout. The lone fish to hit the Grizzly was fooled by a DW SS Glow Green Alewife. . . Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Another great day on Lake Ontario making memories. Max and his crew from PA enjoyed some line burning King Salmon and high flying Steelhead action. The bite was a late morning early afternoon bite for us. We found a great area yesterday afternoon and went back there this morning. Those fish might have still been inside eating, but by mid morning that area started to fill in with fish. Team Dreamweaver's Glow Roy Boy, Martel, Midnight Special, and Rod Father worked on our 60-90' Cannon Optimum Downriggers. A-TOM-MIK coppers from 300-500' took fish thought the day. The 300 was pulling a Shelly Snack and fired most of the day. An A-TOM-MIK Pro Am shred behind a Seneca Special and Familiar Bite meat were firing on the 400 and 500 copper. Had a great group of guys from Ohio this morning. We scanned out to the 27N line with our Hummingbird electronics where we finally set down and deployed rods. Never had a great screen all day. We marked one pod of bait offshore, and it was loaded with marks. Top spoon in the morning was a FishUSA Martel on our 70' Cannon Optimum downrigger. Later in the day it was Rod Father in that same part of the water column. Our two biggest Salmon of the day both came down 150' on our Cannon Optimum downrigger. Familiar Bite Herring was down there hunting for us after the morning bite. All in all the clients had a handful of nice Salmon and Steelbows to take home. They were also gifted a beautiful Brown Trout that was lost offshore. It was never fast and furious today. We enjoyed a slow pick of fish. Unfortunately, we had a case of the dropsies and short hits. June 20 - A good client from Maine has been asking me to take him to Lake Erie so he can check that lake off his bucket list. When we found out the Spring Tightlines Salmon Tournament was cancelled he jumped on the open weekend. So, here we are fishing Lake Erie. First things first we want to give a shout out to Damian, the owner of Bay Rat Lures, for dropping off a "care package" to our hotel. He said "you're gonna need spoons" and since they're all on our other boat we didn't have any. Those Bay Rat Lures 3.5 spoons saved the day! Reports earlier in the week said the lake flipped and fishing was tough on the NY side. We were met with very flat conditions and a blazing [emoji274] today. Captain's we communicated with to the East of Barcelona this morning were dealing with a tough bite. The Captain's we talked to in Erie, PA, however, were crushing it. Spoons seemed to be the ticket for them so we got on the NY/PA fence and deployed a spoon program. Leadcore and jet divers were working for the Erie Captain's, but we had neither. What we did have was snap weights to 6oz. A good client from Maine has been asking me to take him to Lake Erie so he can check that lake off his bucket list. June 21 - One last hurrah before we get back to screaming drags next weekend. We set out around 5:30am and stopped at the log cabin West of Barcelona Harbor in 45' of water. The Humminbird said there were fish below, and it didn't take long to get a nibble. Boat control was tough with the wind direction we faced in the morning. Our program consisted of Bay Rat Lures@ LXDs 200' behind Off Shore Tackle Company OR12 inlines. Some on 10lb mono and others on 20lb braid. On our Fishing - Chinook Diver-Stainless Steel Troll Fishing Divers we ran worm harness probing the bottom. Our second fish hit during a little tangle, but I'll tangle lures again if it means a double digit walleye will hit! It took a Bay Rat LXD in the Machine color. That same set up would take a second hog belly Walleye about an hour later! Sticks did us well in the morning while there was a slight chop on the surface. As that went away the Bay Rat 3.5 spoons behind 3oz Offshore Guppies started to produce better. Size was down from yesterday minus the two trophies. Scroll through the pics to see the lures that did us well this weekend. Those three Bay Rat spoons were great for us with the Raspberry Lemonade (left spoon) and the Raspberry Dolphin (center spoon) doing most of our bites behind 3 & 4 ounce snap weights.
