  1. LOL.....I wouldn't even know where to begin! In today's world we live in I'm more concerned with a scam than anything else. I'm not trying to offend you, so I hope you don't take it that way.
  2. I run Humminbirds and sell all of the brands. HB's are really packed with features, and their sonar is great (especially the SI and DI). Garmin and SIMRAD are good choices as well, but can't hold a candle to HB's SI & DI. Chances are imaging means nothing and you just want good traditional sonar. That being said they all work. User interface on all brands is are getting much more user friendly too. Tell me what you use your multi-functional display for and I can help ya out.
  3. Do you have evidence of this?
  4. I used P-Line back in my early 20's while fishing Bass tourneys. Nice stuff, but it's horrible when it comes to abrasion residence. When a nick does occur it's gonna break. There are lots of better brands out there. Seaguar Blue is great. We use Seagar Salmon and Trout on all our meat rigs. Our preferred leader material has been McCoy Fluoro 100 for about 10-12 years now. The stuff is tough!
  5. You can't go wrong with Cisco's or Cannon's. Had them both over the years.
  6. When I saw the title I thought you were looking for a pick up line.....
  7. I can't see this passing. Cuomo, I can't believe I'm saying this, has been a proponent for fishing tournaments. He's signed deals with Bassmaster to come to NYS with their Elite trail every year. Last year he signed a deal to guarantee they come for 3 or 4 consecutive years. Something that BASS has never done, and they ask for quite a bit of money from the state/counties for these events to come to a place. He understands what events like this bring to small towns located on lakes and rivers. As for the hunting contests......well ya'll know the world we live in now. You get your balls busted for putting a picture of a buck you harvested on social media.
  8. Correct. Any HB you want to connect to a Minn Kota TM needs to have the 'N' in it. That basically means it's a "networkable" unit. To network HELIX units you will need to buy an additional Ethernet dongle.
  9. Look for "The Technilogical Angler" and "Doug Vahrenberg"
  10. These props are original 10 Meter Trojan Express props. They were recently balanced. Don't need 2 spare sets. $1500
  11. With the G3 units you get MEGA imaging further, and dual spectrum CHIRP. IMHO if you can find a Gen2 on closeout grab it.
  12. There is good BT fishing up there. The Niagara puts out enough color.
  13. I tell people to buy 2 wire set-ups, and look into a set of Torpedo trolling weights. 4 Torpedos, and 2 wire set ups can get you a ton of versatility. Fishing copper is no fun. We do it becasue it produces, but if you are out for fun and want to let fish go stay away from copper. https://torpedodivers.com/torpedo-divers
  14. If you need a price, or even an install, shoot me a PM.
  15. This word offends me
  16. You can fish it all year and have success. Problem is when they plow in the ramps and create ice shelves. Someone was out there Saturday. My first trip is scheduled for the 9th. Big boat goes in on the 22nd. Can't come soon enough!
  17. I'd like to see Smart Troll data on it before forming an opinion. Sounds too good to be true, but ya never know. Smart Troll is really only guaranteed out to 300' even though it can work further. So, I'd imagine it'd be tough to get great data on it. My problem is I'm so vested in copper set-ups at this point why change? However, for someone looking to buy a couple set-ups that will let them be more versatile it sounds great.
  18. I have 3 HELIX's and my Terrova all networked together. The HELIX with the Lakemaster card is the one that allows me to follow contours, but any of them can spot lock me or tell the trolling motor to go on Auto-Pilot. If you don't care about the new Bluetooth model (basically your phone connects to it) I have a Terrova 72" 112lb for sale.
  19. 450' of backing is plenty. That's all a Tekota 800 or Seagate 60 will hold, and I've never been close to spooled.
  20. IMHO Tekota 800 is your best option out there. You can get 300yd spool of 50lb backing for a 400 copper, and 150yd spool of 50lb backing for a 500 copper.
  21. We use 30lb braid with a splice of 30-50lb mono between the braid and leadcore. The mono splice is for hooking it to a big board release, or on inline board. A good rule of thumb is 30lb Braid for Leadcore and up to a 300 copper. 50lb braid for anything bigger.
