  1. Check out the @FishUSA custom being unveiled at the Niagara Outdoor Show! A high res photo of a #salmon imprinted i… https://t.co/hxcuzDrAkp

  2. Nothing wrong with a Garmin, but be prepared to use ONLY their maps. You CAN NOT use Navionics or Lakemaster. If your lake isn't mapped you'll have poor cartography.
  3. I'm no engineer, and you guys may be right. I guess we'll wait and see. If the engineers are right, however, it will be a nice option.
  4. Why are you ALWAYS so negative? If the wife isn't giving it to you go pay for sum.
  5. It all depends on the water quality, or lack of quality, you're fishing. On Lake Ontario the waters from Rochester to the west can usually be found to have some color to it. When in colored (green/brown) you can go up on your main line and flouro leader. East of Rochester can present very clear water conditions, and this would force you to go much lighter. We are fortunate to fish a colored water scenario most days for BT. We can get away with 15lb mainline leadered down to a 10lb flouro. My buddies in the East are using 8lb main line and 6lb flouro leaders. Also remember, if your colored water is tight to shore a heavier mainline will float your plugs a little more to get them in tighter. When fishing plugs line diameter makes them all run different. Keep everything on board consistent to take that variables out. We run only McCoy fishing line on the Yankee. They make some great stuff that I have built a ton of confidence in. Their mean green mono and their flouro 100 is really good stuff!
  6. ???? Humminbird CHIRP Radar Check out what’s new from Humminbird! https://t.co/b5dVSP8CD0

  7. I use both every year. I have buddies with Traxtech. Obviously I love my Cannons, but if Cannon went away I'd go with Traxtech.
  8. You need to go play with both and then decide. Both will be at the Niagara show.
  9. Yes it is and yes I do. Send me a PM and I'll get you my PP info Greece, NY.....I'm going through my stuff a little at a time. Keep an eye on this thread for new items.
  10. We have some great local captains who will be sitting on the panel Tuesday, March 7th giving YOU an opportunity to blast them with questions about fishing the Monroe County area during the Spring and early Summer months. 1 question = 4 answers! When - Tuesday, March 7th @ 7pm Where - Irondequoit Fish and Game Club Your Panel: Captain Bruce Stenglein - Captain Bruce has been fishing the world class waters of Lake Ontario since 1977. Hooked Up Charters is based in Rochester, NY on the Genesee River. He has fished from the Niagara River to the mighty St. Lawrence River. The Genesee River in Rochester, NY is the home port for Hooked Up Charters. Captain Jeremy Sage - Captain Jeremy has experience fishing from Oswego to the Niagara River. He's won professional tournaments, and ALWAYS seems to catch the big fish at the annual Rochester charity event held in early May. Although his "home port" is Oak Orchard he does spend his Spring in Rochester. Captain Jerry Snyder - Captain Jerry fishes a touch East of Rochester in the Spring, but he has a very different approach to targeting fish this time of year. I think many will be surprised at his techniques targeting shoreline Brown Trout. Captain Sam Zucco - Captain Sam is a full time charter boat captain out of Rochester. He's been fishing the waters of Lake Ontario since 1978. Every season he's gets started early, and he's one of the last boats out! He's the president of the Genesee Charter Boat Association, and sits on the Monroe County Fishing advisory board.

  13. Your only gain is less cable humm with 200lb braid. I'm pretty sure you gained nothing for blow back. 200 or 250lb braid is the same diameter as 150 cable, which most riggers come with.
  14. Tom is spot on here.
  15. I wish you were fatter so I could buy it.
  16. OK, I thought I heard he did from Jerry. My bad.
  17. The HELIX 5 is a solid unit, and easy to use. However, why not go with a little larger screen and the newest generation for under $500? http://www.cabelas.com/product/boating/marine-electronics/sonars-sonar-gps-combos%7C/pc/104794380/c/104707080/sc/104588280/humminbird-reg-helix-trade-7-chirp-sonar-gps-g2-combo/2418271.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Fsonars-sonar-gps-combos%2Fhumminbird%2F_%2FN-1100517%2B1000003678%2FNe-1000003678%2FNs-MIN_SALE_PRICE%3FWTz_st%3DGuidedNav%26WTz_stype%3DGNU If you don't need the latest and greatest you can go with the Gen1 for the same price, and get a $50 Cabelas gift card. http://www.cabelas.com/product/boating/marine-electronics/sonars-sonar-gps-combos%7C/pc/104794380/c/104707080/sc/104588280/humminbird-reg-helix-trade-7-sonar-gps-combo/2070613.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Fsonars-sonar-gps-combos%2Fhumminbird%2F_%2FN-1100517%2B1000003678%2FNe-1000003678%2FNs-MIN_SALE_PRICE%3FWTz_st%3DGuidedNav%26WTz_stype%3DGNU Lastly, if you do go Humminbird DO NOT make the mistake and get the DI (down imaging) HELIX for trolling. It doesn't come with a wide beam 2D (traditional sonar) option.
  18. There are some guys who use outriggers when running double divers. I'm not sure how, but I know it can be done. I believe Jason of Trout n About out of Sandy does this.
  19. This was by far the one catch that stood out to me in 2016. It wasn't the largest BT we caught, but hands down the prettiest fish that came aboard the Yankee.
  20. The spring spread in beautiful green water! https://t.co/9HqhRGTWim
