  1. Hahahaha Our worst turnout in 5 years was 52 teams, and our best was 72. We get teams coming from Canada, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and a few other from the East Coast. It's a great time!
  2. RT @HumminbirdFish: How can 2D SONAR and GPS improve your #icefishing technique? https://t.co/J2ItFfCMkA

  3. Depends on where you fish. East end is worse for fleas. A few tricks we use are: 1) pull your retro-ease so it puts tension on the braid. That will cut off a bunch of fleas. 2) exactly what Gill-T said with your finger. Kyle - we get fleas bad for a week maybe two on the West end. East end loads up bad as does the Finger Lakes. However, I'm glad you're running the braid. You mentioned some great reasons why it's effective. Yes, unless you have DT 5 or 10's
  4. Announcement coming this week Sent from my XT1575 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Why not go with a AIRMAR B60 Thru Hull ducer and get better sonar images? It's a flush mount ducer with very easy install. Silver Fox put one in his 265. You can ask him where he put it.

  7. Dirty Goose has one less than 2yrs old he's got for sale. Just called him.
  8. Point the rod tip at a 400 copper pulling a 10" paddle and bring it in on a 6.1:1 reel. Now, do the same with a 5.3:1 or slower reel and you will see what I'm talking about with the loss of power. Running spoons the difference is not as noticeable as large paddles. I replaced all of my Tekota 800 last Summer with Daiwa Seagates. I'm a Daiwa guy even though I am not sponsored by them. Have been since I was a little kid and my father had Daiwa gear. I've sold all 4 Seagates, and I'm going back to my Tekotas in 2017.
  9. Plan is to hold it during our monthly meetings. We don't have the facility on the weekends. Silver Fox is correct. These captains are Salmon and Trout only.
  10. #Tournament secret #1 - SHARP HOOKS! We keep a good supply of vmchooks onboard at all times.… https://t.co/ZJbzDsmugv

  11. Here's what we want to do, but we want to gauge the interest of the people first. Starting in February we are looking to do 3 panel discussions in 2017. We want to break them down by Spring, Summer, and Fall fishing in Monroe County. We'll have 3-5 captains, that fish in Monroe County, sitting on a panel each month. The captains on the panel will change each month. I'm planning on moderating these discussions. We'll take questions prior to the night to start off the open forum, and then it will just become a Q&A about fishing Monroe County during the season on topic. We are planning to hold these after our short meeting that we have each month. These meetings are held at the Irondequoit Fish and Game club on the first Tuesday of every month @ 7pm. We will probably limit these to 25 people per event given space restraints, and require sign ups ahead of time. February - Spring fishing in Monroe County March - Summer fishing in Monroe County April - Fall fishing in Monroe County
  12. I can remember stretching my divers out twice past 300' with no loss of signal. I don't think we went past 350'.
  13. I like the high ratio on anything up to about a 300 copper. After that you notice the loss of power in the reel. For example I have the 6.3:1 on a 300 copper and it's manageable. However I have Daiwa Seagates for my 400 & 500 coppers and I am going back to my Tekotas. The loss of power going to the high gear ratio is horrible.
  14. The problem with running Core and Copper lines is will you have the right one for the day? If funds are limited my recommendation is to set-up 2 more wire rods. You can use them to run 4 divers, or add snap weights to them and run them off planer boards. Buying a set of .5oz-5oz snap weights, or the Torpedo weights is cheaper than buying multiple copper/core set-ups. Once you get good with determining where your weights are bringing your baits it will be easy to adjust each day, or on the fly. If I was starting over this is the route I'd take as it keeps lots of rods out of the boat, and it's cheaper.
  15. PM Sent OK, will keep you in the loop

  18. He says his is mounted on the corner of his transom, and he can pick up the diver on the other side of the boat. I had a probe on a 300' copper out on my otter boat and picked up the signal.
  19. I have a buddy who has dual outboards. I'll ask him and get back to you.
  20. Thanks! Perfectly legal in the ones we fish. Once the tournament organizers understood the ST they allowed it.
  21. 📷 Thanksgiving Weekend Walleye This past weekend after we gave thanks, and ate REAL good on... https://t.co/ayRRLgj9XV

  22. I've used both Power Pro and AFW braid. 150lb test. Love the stuff. We run 20lb sharks on it regularly. Very easy to terminate. Sent from my XT1575 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
