  1. VMC spark point 4x from an @ATOMMIK green mirage found my finger unhooking a steelbow. #ouch https://t.co/BeR1txkj5E

  2. I try to put a plug on one "junk line" when Salmon fishing no matter what time of year.
  3. Why are you so mean? Do you ever have anything nice to say?
  4. We do it 3-4 times a year. It's really not that hard to do. Just call into customs when you touch land. If you fish across call when you cross the boarder and when you touch land. You will go through cell coverage dead zones, so make sure you have check in's scheduled with someone when you get to the other side. Also, make sure you have the proper stuff in case of an emergency. Coberg is really a nice port. When we were younger my father took us across in his 21' Penn Yan. We went from Braddock's to Devils Nose and then across.
  5. I had all Lowrance on my bass boats until one day I had to deal with their customer service. I literally waited an hour on the phone to talk to someone. When I did get to talk to someone I was told they could sell me the part I needed, but I could probably find it cheaper on the internet. I lost it and vowed to never buy Lowrance again!
  6. Lots of nice fish around this weekend at the Oak. Lake Ontario is really putting out! @FAMILIARBITE @CannonFishing https://t.co/C1V3HBdVjn

  7. Friday My brother fished down from the Oak on Friday. He ran East to Sandy and fished the water between there and Btraddocks. Catching fish wasn't the problem, but size was. They had a few in the upper teens, but mostly 2yr old specimens. Saturday We broke the pier heads at 5am and we were off to home port. Set down in front of the ladders and worked the water between the flats and the front door all day. Mupped DW Sea Sick's were on our center rigger in the bath water. Those took one or two of our weigh fish. A meat rig with Familiar Bite that tracked bottom and another 15-20' above it kept us busy. Coppers were fairly quiet, but our 500 did take a weigh fish with a meat rig towards the end of the day. Our divers were out 200-250 with flashers and A-TOM-MIK flies. UV Pro Am, Glow Blue Hammer, Big Fin, and Ultra Green Glow all took fish. The best troll was a East troll. We were lucky to have a charter group of fishing dudes, so we picked up and ran up hill so we didn't waste much time on West trolls. I think that was a key factor in keeping the rods moving. We ended the day in 2nd place. with just under 91lbs. This is a great event, and the tournament committee is a great group of people. We always look forward to this event, and so does our charter.
  8. Great weekend! 2nd place at the Sandy Creek Shootout, and some fantastic fishing! @FAMILIARBITE @CannonFishing https://t.co/rXjOjXbI6P

  10. Here's my take on the lack of fishing reports - Social Media! It's so much easier to upload pics and reports to FB, Twitter, and Instigram. I watch analytics on my website very closely. This year is the first year ever I've decreased in traffic. People don't have to go to my website for fishing reports anymore. It's plastered all over social media. Even captains who never were on LOU, or maybe just creeped, are plastering pics and reports on social media. I could be wrong, but I don't see any other reasons.
  11. Saturday - Slammed them this morning 4-6 miles west on the 25-27N line! We grabbed the boat record for the season at 28lbs. Familiar Bite on our 140' Cannon DT10 took the big guy. Team Dreamweaver Sea Sick Waddler was good Mupped today, A-TOM-MIK glow blue hammer and sherbet flies were going on the divers out 200-225'. Even took a fish on a plug run on some A-TOM-MIK copper. Everything was catching fish, and everyone was happy! Sunday - Another day on Lake Awesome (Ontario). Steelhead to 14lbs and Salmon to 24lbs. Familiar Bite meat took a few fish, but nothing huge today. A-TOM-MIK Ultra Green Glow and Hypnotist were studs on our divers out 225'. Our Cannon DT10's were going from 50-85' with various Team Dreamweaver spoons. Even took a fish today on a plug. We worked water from 6 miles West to right out front by the end of the day. Fished water from 200-400.
  12. On the lake how can you tell the difference? The pics I've seen they look like Coho?
  13. What is the difference between a Pink and a Coho?
  14. No, I know this is a common thing on Erie for Walleye, but once you pop the release it's game over unless the fish strikes. Now you have to reset. In my opinion moving your riggers up and down will create the same effect.
  15. Down deep slammer that took some @FAMILIARBITE meat off our @CannonFishing Digitroll 10s. https://t.co/ckT2PL8Jh4

  16. If you ice fish with a flasher/fish finder you realize the importance of the cat and mouse game. Letting a bait stay stationary for large gamefish like Walleye and Lake Trout through the ice will result in a lot of lookers. Taking the bait away from them creates a sense of urgency and many times it triggers a bite. You can do this with your downriggers, and anyone who's been in my boat witnesses this all day long. Our riggers are constantly moving into fish or getting pulled away from fish to utilize the same concept we use while ice fishing. My favorite set to chase fish is a Mupped (reg spoon with mag spoon cheated above it 10') rigger.
