If you;re buying a new FF buy a new ducer. These ducers are only a couple hundred bucks. Most FF's are 4 times as much.

It's all good....sometimes ya have a rig or a spoon out there that's just special. You hate to lose it.

Have you tuned your unit with my post on here about settings from 2 years ago? Also, is your stock ducer mounted to Humminbird specs (placement and shooting straight down)? Those stock ducers are actually pretty good.

July 2nd Who doesn’t like a father son trip!?!?!?!? We let Lady O calm her emotions this morning and dropped lines about 9am. Sloppy, but fishable. Crazy currents! Anyway, bite was good from the get go. Everything was going. Team Dreamweaver Martel’s, Moonshine Lures Carbon 14, and Familiar Bite were going on our Cannon downriggers from 65-125’. Our divers out 225-250’ were going with A-TOM-MIK ultra green glow and purple mirage flies. Lost a few nice Kings, and put back some quality Steelbows. Kept the clients limit which consisted of 3 coho, 2 Kings, and 1 Steelbow. July 3rd (morning) Great morning at the Oak. Done early with this group from Ithaca. Familiar Bitetook our biggest salmon of the day, but the new UV A-TOM-MIK flies in glow mirage and pro am were studs. Our Team Dreamweaver Martel’s we got from FishUSA were flying on our Cannon downriggers. A pair of 24lb brutes really made the day! July 3rd (afternoon) WOW! If this Salmon bite lasts the next two months it’ll be a year to remember! The afternoon trip started with a triple right off that bat, and it never let up. Multiple doubles, and some really angry matures whacking divers. A-TOM-MIK UV sweet pea and pro am were studs tonight. Familiar Bite took its share as well. Our downriggers parked from 75-125’ down, and wires out over 200’. July 4th Another great day on the water. UV A-TOM-MIK pro am and mirage flies took top honors on our divers out 200-250’. Our biggest fish came on Familiar Bite on a deep rigger. Great class of Steelbow out there and all classes of Salmon.

How can an average Joe tell a Skam from a Bow or a Steelhead?

Friday About an hour and a half into practice we went to switch motors and realized our shaft on the starboard side had slid out of the coupler. We limped in on 1 engine, and got her temporarily fixed in a few hours. Got back out around 12 and put in a few more hours of practice. We had a good bite out front in the morning with just about every presentation going in 150-300' of water. The afternoon we checked the drop, and our screen was blank and all we could muster up was a few shakers. Saturday We limped out to 80' and set up. We deployed our 3 Cannon Digitrolls, 2 wire divers, and 1 A-TOM-MIK copper. By the days end we fished with 1 Cannon, 2 wire divers, and 3 A-TOM-MIK coppers. The only fish coming on our Cannons were up high and they weren't the class we were looking for. Our divers were going out 150-225' with Familiar bite meat and Wonderbread Smartfish/A-TOM-MIK Glow Blue Hammer. On our coppers were on fire and it was all Familiar Bite on them. We had no shortage of fish. Easily hooked into 30 Salmon, but we just didn't have the caliber of fish under us we needed. We finished the day in 11th place, which is our worst finish this season. Congrats to the teams that did well.

Pretty awesome day for June! We fished 100-200’ of water 5-7 miles West of Oak Orchard this morning. High and low divers went with spoons out 75’-175’. Our Cannon downriggers went with spoons in the top 60’. 10 color Stealth Core and A-TOM-MIK copper to 300’. Spook type spoons and watermelon spoons took most shots. Gold 42 Team Dreamweaver Spin Doctor/A-TOM-MIK 42nd gold fly on the 300’ copper took our big guys.

200-250' for the most part. Friday there was a great break on the 27N line holding some fish.

We tried to make it three in a row for this event (we've won the last two), but when you're fishing against the best teams Lake Ontario has to offer that's a tough thing to accomplish. Fridays Condor event, which was also the first leg of the King of the Oak (KOTO) series, was tough for us. We just didn't put anything together. We fished from 150' out to the 29N line with only some small fish to show for. The screen never really looked good aynwhere. We did find a nice break on the 27N line, but we didn't pull much of any size off it. Saturday, we choose to just go fishing, and it paid off. We got our 5 Salmon by 10:30, it took us 45 minutes to get 3 Lake Trout over 12lbs, but the last two Steelhead we just couldn't find to finish off our tournament box. We ended in 4th place on day 1, and that's where we'd finish because of the blow off day on day 2. 3 out of our 5 salmon came on divers out 225-250', one came on a 600 copper, and the 5th was on a rigger down 110'. 4 out of 5 were on Familiar Bite with the 5th taking a Carbon 14. Our LT came on Hammerhead Lake Trolls. We stopped in 3 different spots looking for some chrome, but apparently we didn't go far enough North or West.
