    Saturdays second leg of the King of the Oak had a great showing with 23 boats entered. Fishing was tough, but some guys found a few Salmon. Congrats to John Muehl and his Team Anonymous for a 52.14lb box consisting of all Salmon. Also, congrats to Matt Briggs for bringing in a stud of a Salmon weighing in at 28.10lbs.

    I usually put the bottom spoon 20' back. Rigger down 8'. Hook a 10' cheater line up to the main line. Lower it down to the desired depth.

    We're run Heartlands for everything on the boat, but unfortunately they don't make them anymore. We're also looking for something the Heartland line up couldn't offer us. We've been looking for something that will help improve rigger hook ups when fishing below 125'. The heartlands just don't have enough azz. We lose a lot of fish on our riggers when fishing deep.

    We use 8'6" Daiwa roller rods, which are stiff. Also use tight drags. Never broke 25lb test McCoy mono. When are you gonna lose the "professional" tag and come to realize you're still an amateur?     1. No need for a snubbers. Make the leader as long as you'd like. If you're fishing tight to the boat lengthen it. If you're fishing it further out then 8-10' works fine. Hand lining fish in from a diver is sometimes easier than pulling back on a rod. 2. We've run 25lb test for a long time, and even with big 11" paddles I can't remember ever cracking one off. Use a quality mono! Our only exception is when fishing Trout only. We will go to a 20lb Fluoro leader. HUH! Would have never guessed! I fished the first 7 tourneys and saw you at 1 of them! One more event has passed since then, and your name still isn't on the scoreboard. More like a wanna-be tourney team!

    Well John P......I chatted up Tony Childs today, read this over again, and had Mike R in Canada order the materials. Now I can't wait for him to hand me these rods at the Tightline event in a few weeks. The three of you are all very knowledgeable! Thanks again for the time and effort you put into this post.

    I'd say as long as you are powering/wiring straight to the battery you'll be fine.

    You should be able to track those balls to well past 80'. My initial guess is that you;re using light cannonballs? Are you running it in dual mode where 83 and 200 KHz are laid on top of each other? There are 3 background color schemes, and you can dim the back light as well. When I would come in or out in the dark we'd put the background on black and dim to 1 or 2 power. The menu to get to these settings is a quick press of the power button.

    Just a reminder that event #2 for the King of the Oak will be held this Saturday. You can sign up at Lake Breeze Marina and Narbys entry is $100. You need to be signed up by 7am Saturday. Weigh in Line closes at 3pm sharp. Only your 3 largest fish in the cooler.

    Mupped is when you take a regular and a mag spoon (usually in the same color pattern) and cheat the mag spoon above the regular.
