  1. I use the Garmin Etrex for timber management, I also carry it on the boat as a back up. It works well on land, I can only presume accuracy to be as good if not better on the water. The forest canopy decreases the number of satilites that can be received.
  2. For those new to wire dipseys; If you are going to run a slider, add 60 - 100' of mono as your leader, otherwise your wire will kink.
  3. Those same words have helped me remain a healthy happy bachelor!
  4. Very few invaisives or exotics prove to be beneficial. My first reaction is who cares, its a worm... but that worm will push native species out or bring a pathogen that is not balanced by a predator. After all, zebra mussels make the water nice and clear right?
  5. I just got my order from McMaster's great service!
  6. Anyone have an internet source for the spring "twill" tips for wire rods? Local stores in my area don't carry them and its a 100 mile drive to Narby's. thx
  7. I copied this from @theoak, in their popular spoon section; Yeck Coyote...The coyote is not in the Yeck catalog or website...one of the "Buc's" favorites and it was hot last year at Olcott. Description...55 size, half blue and half green with a lazer orange ladder (Narby's probably has them.) Hope this helps, I will try to post a pic later today
  8. Tom, Thats a different breed of 'yote. The yecks is complety different. I will try to make to the barn later to take a pic.
  9. Now was that really neccesary? You made me squirt milk through my nose!
  10. Any site in particular?
  11. Had that very problem last August. My guest was vertically challenged and a little mal-nourished to boot. He was unable to pull the rod from the holder without some help. We later came to the conclusion that it was much easier to stand the holder up and then take the rod.
  12. Already done, thanks!
  13. Mike, Didn't find a "maxi" mate but I did find a special mate. I think I am going to order 2 for spoons and 1 for plugs. I like the site, this could get expensive! Once I get the box i will look into those modifications. Thanks!
  14. I like it! May have to give that a try. Any great innovations for spoon storage? I am using a 'rolodex' type box that holds 25 spoons in individual compartments, but takes up alot of room.
  15. I have a combination of Bert's and Pursuit's, and I would have to agree the Bert's are a bit handier under load.
  16. I have found what I feel is the best way to store flies and avoid tangles. I purchased a large "Fly Trap" from GLoutdoors and was impressed with the cone shaped sleeve they provide for the fly.
  17. I think you did a great job and hope you realize how much it is appreciated by your regular readers!
