  1. Had a great time with my father and Joe fishing the Troy. Had some luck early and lost some nice fish later in the day. Top three fish all measured 45". Biggest for us was 44.5" (half inch short, story of my life my wife would say ). Got a chance to help Ed land nice 46" fish. Overall the tournament was a blast! Ed deserves a lot of credit for making the event so much fun, along with Jim, Steve and Bob.
  2. Not a bad day old man. Those are some pretty cool underwater photos Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  3. My favorite tournament of the year - hands down! Name another tournament where you get "On the water hot chili delivered to you and your crew" as part of the event? And I like the use of judge boats, it's funny that I didn't fish the PMTT this year cause they decided to get rid of judge boats. Looking forward to the Troy tourney as always
  4. Sorry I am going to miss this one as well. I have both the wife's birthday and my daughter's 1st birthday. If I ever want to go fishing again in my life, then I better be sure not to miss these family events on the home front.
  5. Thanks everyone for the kind words - it's great to watch her interest in the outdoors grow with each passing trip we take together.
  6. I was up in the 1000 Islands last week for a quick trip - didn't get to fish much but did have a chance to sneak out for a couple hours. Got to take the family and grandparents out fishing with me. It was pretty cool getting to fish with both my dad and my daughter on the same trip. Ended up boating a couple nice muskies but my 3-year old daughter stole the show when she landed her first ever musky! I hooked the fish, adjusted drag slightly and handed the rod over to Charlotte. She laid rod flat on gun rail of boat and cranked her trophy in. She got to catch the first ski’ of her life and was soooooo happy! Proud daddy moment there If you look close in the picture, you can see 1.) the diaper I changed on my other daughter 2 casts before catching that musky and 2.) A lamprey that was on the fish. This was the first ever lamprey I've seen on a musky before. A quick picture and Charlotte helped me release the fish. The fish kicked hard away and splashed us both. My daughter now calls all fish larger than a sunfish a "Muskie". We will work more on species identification once she turns 4 years old – Chad
  7. 1 solid hit is sometimes more than I see all day up there so nice going!
  8. Hi guys - Sorry to see this post go negative. Please be mindful of the fact that sometimes people are selling items for a variety of different reasons (i.e., no longer fish, death in family or moving out of state, etc.), and regardless the reason it benefits all members to see these deals and have the opportunity to purchase them. Our site policy is not contingent on number of posts or membership level but rather simply the demonstration of respect for each member. We try hard here to run a family-friendly site that encourages user engagement even if the interest is only in the classifieds section. Our classifies are a free service with a very targeted audience - this is a big appeal to many, and we openly welcome all to join and use the section. Thanks again for the understanding and continued support - Chad

  14. Thanks Zach man. I know many of the Canadians don't even bother to start fishing up there till 10 am. Always surprised me too Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  15. Muskies CA is a great group of guys; always willing to share information. My family belong to Gananoque chapter and its great to see them so willing to work with NY Muskies Inc. Looking forward to fishing you in Sept. Bob!
  16. Sweet reel Mike, very smooth - what are you replacing it with?
  17. Wowowow! That is unreal!
  18. John - wow!! Nice fish buddy. Mark got a really nice one too on Saturday up by us. Fat 46'. Team Ortho!! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  19. Had a lot of fun fishing the tournament. Tough conditions all around with the wind. Friday fishing was better than Saturday for us. I believe the biggest fish of the tournament was 44". We got a couple mid-40's fish on Friday and "the hump back of Chautauqua Lake" on Saturday. Joe did his best to impersonate the hump back... haha Lake is really setting up nice and the fishery looks to be very healthy. Lots of bait out there.
  20. My fault NPike - we lost those a couple hours of posts when I had to do server restore yesterday. My apologies - wasn't too happy with hosting company on this one. Will be looking into alternative options moving forward.
  21. Hi Dennis - Yes, let me give this some thought. I think that is worth consideration as the finger lakes section on LOU has become increasingly popular over the years - far beyond anything I imagined. I wouldn't make Pro-member-only but I think that making it at least a site member is a reasonable request like we do for the main Lake O fishing reports section. Thanks again - Chad
  22. Thanks guys for the kind words - there is a Pro Members only forum if you wish to post topics there. That is only accessible to Pro Members so it is a little more private. http://www.lakeontariounited.com/fishing-hunting/forum/21-lou-professional-members-only/ There is also a private message system well. We do our best to run a family-friendly community and encourage open discussion and debate within the confines of the site policy. With over 18,000+ members, of course there is going to be issues but we do our best to keep a family-friendly atmosphere. The associated IT expenses are very high to run a site with this kind of traffic so thank you to all those who have supported us over the many years now!
