  1. Congrats Anthony! Always nice to see LOU members atop the leaderboard
  2. Just ordered 2 fifteen pound torpedo weights and have been very happy with them thus far. Plus they tuck nicely away on the boat when not in use.
  3. Hey onthewater - Glad to hear you had some good success out there! Loosing fish is part of the game and its going to happen no matter what. Going 7 for 13 is good. Make sure the hooks are sharp and the releases set tight. The advantage of setting the releases tighter is more hookups but the drawback is sometimes you will not get the rods to fire if a shaker hits. Then you end up dragging a shaker around for a while and that messes up the rest of the set. 25lb is plenty strong enough. Most guys run between 15-30lb. 25lb should keep the flees off. Maybe consider running a light leader (say 15lb floro) to stay stealthy. Oh and did I mention sharp hooks? Best of luck out there! C

Nice paprman! A quick morning is the best way to go in this heat. Glad to hear you put some fish in the boat
  5. I love hearing stories like this Jim! Thanks for sharing and glad we could open a whole new world to ya (and yes, it can get expensive!)
  6. 12.13 lbs 7/5 - Rochester, NY Sandy Creek East Fork Marina Trilene/Dreamweaver Boat: Rebel
  7. That is incredible... wowowowow
  8. Thanks again guys. I can't take all (or even the majority) of the credit. We all know who the brains behind this operation was. Jerry was even published earlier this year in an article in Great Lakes Angler on "Fishing Summer Time Browns". Credit the captain for this one
  9. Hey Guys! Thanks so much Went out today (just Rebel and me) looking to target Browns in typical Jerry fashion. I told him I saw a good article in GLAngler magazine about summer time brown trout fishing and that he should check it out sometime It was funny going fishing knowing that you had more downriggers on the boat (6) then rods you could actually run (4). Ended up being a great day out on the water for many people. We ended up with a mixed bag of browns, kings, cohos, lakers and bows. Ran a straight spoon set in 80-100 feet of water off the nose and trolled it back to Sandy. Screen looked good all the way down and we got just the fish we were looking for Can't wait to get back out there. Thanks again everyone
  10. Boat is running well so far. Can't wait to try it again tomorrow... best of luck out there!
  11. Nice going Keith! Was off Braddocks today in shallow this morning and did a couple with our biggest being an 11lb bow. Called it quits around 11 to avoid the boat traffic and work on this website project I have going on right now Possibly back out tomorrow morning to try again.
  12. Sorry to hear of your loss Vince. Our thoughts/prayers are with the entire Pierleoni family.
  13. Wow - kudos to you and Larry! That is one heck of a day muskie fishing. Most guys won't do that many ski's in an entire year!
  14. Nice job 700efiguy. Nothing like putting having a little success out there to feed the habit Glad LOU helped put some more fish in the boat for ya
  15. Hahaha - Kari (aka "booty") will tell you it was smaller than her's and I will tell you that it was twice as big as her's. Maybe we can meet in the middle and agree on 30"? Just so that I can say it was an inch bigger..... ?
  16. Nice fish Matt! Great picture of the Goonies Pirate Ship as well
  17. 29" and let go to grow even bigger for next year! Nice fish Booty Now tell them about the one that I lost...
  18. Brooke - Thanks for sharing the story - I can only imagine how exciting that must have been! Katherine and I (Chad) will be getting married on Oct. 2nd this year at Belhurst....... the same day as the next scheduled tournament! I might need to call in a sub then.... (but for which event is still to be determined ) Chad
  19. Nice fish and great photo Lex/Zach! Hope you guys do equally as well this weekend if you get out
  20. Brooke! I am glad to see you found us here on Lake Ontario United (LOU)! It was great getting to meet you at the last tournament and thank you again for taking the time to post the picture! I know I have told many people about your personal best fish and the size of the head on it! Thank you again for sharing and welcome aboard LOU! Hope to see you again on the water. Tight lines, Chad
  21. Haha - yeah that is about how it felt seeing that one slip away seconds before we actually took the picture! The picture above is of the two muskies in an aquarium over at the Happy Hooker. Talking with Brian & Lisa about them this weekend was interesting in that they only had to feed them once every 3-5 days during the winter. Now that it is summer they eat several times per day ! Poor, poor minnows...
  22. Hey Larry - Now that you have reached the target goal of $6000 for the 2010 Bait Fish Fund and already started on the 2011 Fund with the goal of $9000 ($3000 for netting to protect the fish & $6000 for bait), would it be smart to consider taking the first $3000 to buy the netting right away for this year? I know you mentioned that we lose over 40% of the fish to bird predation before they even leave the stocking ponds. Seems to me that we should spend the first $3000 that comes in to get the protective netting in place as quickly as possible and not worry about waiting till the full $9000 is collected before moving forward with this. Time to shut down the "all you can eat sea food buffet". If we need protective netting now.... Joe won 3000 YARDS of fishing line at the last raffle and that only cost him 5 bucks!
  23. Zach, I'm embarrassed to say but the one fish we did get (36") flopped out of my hands and over the side of the boat right before we were about to take the picture! I have never had that happen before but this was a lively one for sure who was ready to go back quick. This is the best picture I got the entire weekend...
  24. Zach - It was good seeing you guys at the Chautauqua opener. You put on a clinic out there and had a GREAT day! I thought that I recognized Kevin there. I haven't seen him in years... but its funny he remebers the 20lb+ rainbow I have mounted. Kevin grew up on the same street as my family (West Bend in Greece) a few houses down. I knew the Jamison family for years as my younger brother (Todd) played hocked with Kev for about 6 years and my mom was good friends with Kev's mom. Great to see him trying out some Musky fishing with some good success. I think your boat alone proved what great shape the musky fishery is in here in upstate NY. I am hoping to get some pictures of some of other winning fish from the tournament posted up here. I will post as soon as any of them come in and I am sure Larry will do the same. Congrats again on the great opener - you couldn't have a better start to 2010
  25. Your reports are awesome Phil Thanks for sharing!
