  1. Sure thing Justin. The avatar options are located under the PROFILE link at the top of the website. Here is a direct link to the avatar section you are looking for: ucp.php?i=profile&mode=avatar Once there, you can upload any image you want for an avatar so long as it is small enough in size. Hope this helps! Chad
  2. Welcome aboard Joe - glad you decided to join in I also happen to live in Greece, NY (near Long Pond). Brad - how much is it for a PA fishin' license? Seems like a really easy drive from Rochester... Any other special regulations you know of for this lake?
  3. Hahahah - thanks Zach That is funny you talked to Newman, because my fiancee also talked to him last fall on WBEE about fishing. She was all excited to be on the air and Newman certainly seemed interested in fishing despite having not done much of it in the past before.
  4. Very impressive video Dave... your hired!
  5. Happy Birthday Brian! Hopefully the LOU Sandy fishing get together will go a little more smoothly for you this year
  6. Incase you guys never had a chance to see this video, it was done a few years back and is just awesome to watch! I didn't even know the video existed until Mike told me a while back that he did a show with Pete. Here is the link to Mike's Website: Video Title: Chautauqua Muskies Unleashed http://www.Chautauquareeloutdoors.com Look on the left column near the bottom of the site and you will see the link to the video. And while you are on Mike's site, be sure to check out his photogallery - it will get you pumped up
  7. Watching the action live and in reel time from home was almost too much handle... VERY NICE guys! Way to go
  8. WARNING =========================================== The following project soon to be launched by your buddies at Lake Ontario United could SEVERELY HINDER your motivation to stay at work all day knowing what is going on LIVE on the water! =========================================== On April 9th, our newest project titled Lake Ontario Tweets (Instant Fishing Reports) will set the world of fishing reports on it's ear. Imagine INSTANT Fishing Reports (including images and videos) from some of Lake Ontario's finest Charter Captains while they're out on the water LIVE!! We've worked very hard here at Lake Ontario United to create Lake Ontario Tweets. Be prepared to have the way you look at fishing reports changed forever! This type of project has never been done before on Lake Ontario or ANYWHERE else in the fishing world for that matter. We are excited to see how well people take to it. We try to stay ahead of the curve technologically here at LOU and in this case... wayyyyyy ahead of the curve and breaking new ground in the fishing industry. Stay tuned... but don't say that I didn't warn you

    Welcome

Thanks Jim! It was great meeting you and Tim last night at the DEC State of the Lake in Niagara county. Thanks for helping start up the panfish forum - hope this provides a good place to talk for all the Perch Masters out there
  11. Happy Birthday Pat! Have a good one sir
  12. jkarol24, I use 80/100 lb braid with an 80lb floro leader when fishing for muskies and have never had a problem getting a good hookset. I think your issue has a lot to do with the mono line and not being able to really drive the hook home into the boney month of a pike due the stretch factor. Consider rigging a rod up with braid and seeing if that doesn't help drive home the point better for ya Chad
  13. Welcome aboard Mark! This website was my thesis project while I attended RIT OK, maybe not..... but I spent just about as much time on LOU as I did my master's project at RIT. Hope you are enjoy your college as much I did there!
  14. Happy Birthday Nick! Can't wait to get up north there with you some time this year and try our luck pike fishing in the islands. Enjoy your day
  15. Welcome aboard George! Glad to have ya - make your self at home

  18. Wow nice! That is really getting it in early Ice fishing reports and the early spring reports don't usually overlap
  19. Welcome aboard Tom! We are excited and glad to have you Lots of great guys on here and plenty of issues discussed daily that I am sure would be of interest to you. Enjoy the site and welcome to LOU!

  21. Mikell, Thanks for sharing your thoughts and opinions. Please recognize that the community here at LOU is not represented by a single person or a specified group of people but rather the IDEA of open communication regarding any and all issues concerning our fishery. We welcome your ideas as much as anyone else’s and hope to facilitate an environment that encourages the exchange of ideas absent of personal insults and broad rash generalizations such as what you have misinterpreted LOU of being above. Perhaps your thoughts ring to true to specific individuals (i.e., conservative, liberal, tree huggers, ect), but they, as you have above, also have a right to voice their opinion here on LOU. My point, and only request, is that you refrain from generalizing LOU as a specific group of people and think of our hard work here more as an open community and environment that fosters the exchange of ideas and debate in a way that is professional and unlike any other fishing forum you will find anywhere on the web. I understand the heated nature of such topics and ask all who wish to respond to keep in mind the site policy you agreed when you registered with the site and adhere to it (specifically the NO PERSONAL INSULTS portion) and focus on the debate at hand rather than “how stupid the other guy/girl isâ€. We are all fishermen here and we are all working towards the end common goal of providing the best fishery possible for generations to come. Thank you for your consideration.
  22. I'll be there along with Larry & Jerry. Hope to see a good turn out.
  23. Zack - I remember once I tried to T the hooks out on an size 8 x-rap and broke it! I think we can get away with it on musky lures because the hooks are much larger and thicker. The thinner, smaller hooks could weaken on you some enough to affect performance or even break such as my case. It could also just be that the x-raps have weaker hooks as the lure is made to suspend so they need to be lighter/less strong by default. That is just a guess on my end though…… C
