  1. Steve - Great looking boat! Glad to finally have you aboard LOU Enjoy the site - lots of great guys here. Chad
  2. Just got back from that area last month. Had a great outing. Here is the post that has more details: viewtopic.php?f=47&t=12449 Hope that helps! Chad
  3. Wow Mike - what a beauty! Nice going man!
  4. Good day FDNY! Way to go - any size to the pike?
  5. Wow Scott - very impressive! Great day you had out there
  6. Flees were bad for us today Shimano. We fished 600 feet of water yesterday just two miles inside the US Border and had flees out there and today we fished 65-140 feet of water and had the same amount of flees inside. Try heavier pound test if you want to avoid them.
  7. Have a great BDay Eric!
  8. J - I have heard decent number being caught off Braddocks but the size of the smallies has been more impressive than the numbers. I caught a few earlier this year that were just stuffed (presumably with gobies). It was amazing they would even consider hitting my lure seeing how fat these fish were. I haven't been out in a while now but I am sure with a little patience you can find them all around the lake as they are starting to make a good comeback. Chad
  9. Welcome aboard Everett! Glad to have another PROFESSIONAL member on the site!
  10. Sure thing guys Glad I could help. Don’t think of yourselves as an “after thought†however. I have fished for just about everything that swims in freshwater and few species compare to the raw excitement of musky fishing! I really hope to get a LOT more musky anglers on board here at LOU – especially all the guys that I know fish down at Chautauqua and the St. Lawrence. Can't wait to see how LOU does in the next Chautauqua musky tournament - lets put on another good showing there
  11. Congrats on the Boat Johon! Enjoy the LOU
  12. Happy Birthday to the one and only Enjoy your day Ray!
  13. As requested fellas, I have split the bass category and ESOX category into two separate forums. I stayed away from going to a separate forum for each species Lee just cause I don't want it to get too over crowded on the main page. Plus generally, those who are interested in one of the ESOX species will be interested in the rest of the fish in the group and want to see those posts as well. This will save them the time of having to look through three different forums instead of just one. The task ahead is now to get all the Bass posts transferred over to the Bass forum..... this one could take a while.
  14. Matt - Great explanation! Thank you for sharing your insight and expertise in this area. I am sure this info will be extremely beneficial to many LOU members who use wire on a daily fishing basis. Thank you - Chad
  15. I have been thinking of that for a while now Solo. I would probably go Bass and Esox fish (i.e., musky, pike, walleye) as the split. I'll put it on my to do list... give me a day or two. Thanks for the suggestion as I have been thinking of it for a while now.
  16. Zach - Welcome to LOU! Glad to have another musky guy aboard Thanks for the posts. Chad
  17. Welcome to the LOU Troy! Glad to have you aboard Try the search link (located at top) to better filter through all the info on the site and find the answers you are looking for
  18. LOU was started almost 6 years by two guys.... Steve & Mark. Today she tops 5000 members and growing at a pace of nearly 15-20 new people per DAY! Here's to you fellas for having the initial vision to get LOU off the ground
  19. Hey Mark – It was a VERY different kind of fishing than I am use to. We would let out 300-400 feet of wire line with some 10â€-12†squid lure on the end. When we would get a hit, the rod would bend a bit and then you would simply crank in all that line with the fish on the end of it non-stop. Not once did any fish take out any drag! I personally wouldn’t have minded catching half as many fish but on lighter tackle and adding a little more sport to the adventure. Yes, we did put fish in the boat but it felt more like commercial fishing than sport fishing. I was physically exhausted by the end of it all. It was fun but I have also caught stripers casting from the beach with an Evil Eye Heavy Caster on 10lb mono and they put more of a fight then the ones we caught on the charter. Just my honest impression It was fun and the stripers are great eating!
  20. Haha - congrats Blueghost! I'm sure she will make a fine addition to LOU someday
