WoW Seneca 8-3-2011 Brother Stan came up from home looking to get into some fish and BS for awhile with me he brought his dog King. We were on the water a bit after 7am it was lumpy and windy so a wet ride across. Stared to set up out deep aways from way-point from yesterday. Put first rigger down 48’ and started to put the next one down and the first one fired with a 23†laker……It was like that for a while good action picking 2 just legal landlocks and two legal rainbows we put back. Things slowed down a bit and waves were still a pain but we stayed with it trolling north-south…..then west……back east….then north….crazy pattern but it was working……..then we were into a south troll into the heavy waves deepest rigger goes ( at this time it was 57’ ) good fish heavy brother Stan was working it so I figured to make it easier and turn and get the wind at our backs…………good idea but I turn into the fish and to quick……………….it came right into 8’ of net range came out of the water two times thrashed around some flipped a fin up and was gone ……..BIG landlock I’m guessing 10# but hey it could have been 12#.......or 7# ……LOL………we had 9 fish in the box so I did a slow troll back to port………….had a mark out deep on the GPS put it in and within 100’ of it shallow rod fired with a 16.5 bow hooked bad so we boxed him and called it a day…………..we went 14 for 16 or so……….. ran just three riggers long leads and spoons…….41’ did the smaller landlocks and bows with some of the other landlocks also……….49’………57’….then dropped it to 62’………two lakers the biggest bow and the HUGE landlock we lost……………GREAT TIME !!!!!!!! ended up with 3 lakers , to bows and 5 landlocks in the cooler

Thanks Guys , tmckenzie I launch out of Lodi that's where my camp is............. Brother Stan and I just got back in have too clean ..LOTS of fish.....we had a BMF or HMF that I turned the boat the wrong way and it came in way to fast right beside the boat two jumps with a head shake or two and GONE atleast 10# biggest landlock I seen on my boat !!!!!! all my fault !!!!!!!!!! ..........I'll get a new report up in a bit with some shore pictures.............

Read up on it that's what I did then bought one thru Cablea's for $70.00 I thought it would take me one level higher without paying a lot more money for the next level unit...........knowing what I do now I would ask around about a Airmar transducer......right now most of the time when things are working right on the depthfinder I'm 85% of the time using the 83/200 beam........I used the quadbeam a few time but it cut the screen down making it harder to see marks...........in all fairnest I have NOT run it enough to say it worth it............sound GREAT when you read what it will do and may be good on a bigger screen than I have.............

Just thinking.......when my transducer went bad ............the bottom reading was a very thin line almost a blue color and I didn't mark much of anything else.............the bad transducers were made in 2010 as I understand it............if I have to get a new one and have to pay for it I,m about 95% sure I would check what people say here about these...........Airmar... http://www.airmartechnology.com/

Mine I still run the unit I just shut the sonar off on the one I'm using for GPS....

I feel your pain.....could be if your running both units at the same time your getting interferance (sp)....... try just running one.....I have two 788ci and use one for GPS and the other for depthfinder when I turn the sonar on the GPS unit I got those lines also.....I got more help on this site with mine than from HB............

I have some now I've been using on the finger lakes. We'll be heading up to the Big pond in a few weeks and would like to take my spoon rods but not sure if the swivel would hold up.

I ran her out today with the adjustment you put up and it worked OK........I was still having issues tracking my cannonballs.......made one more change and ........WOW....that did it but I get so many small fish marks it makes me go.....Hmmmmmmmm!!!!!!.........SwitchFire Mode max tracks cannonball great............in the clear mode not wothna crap..............but at least I can track them now and maybe dropping some of the other setting I can fine tune it........ Thanks everyone............ Oh if ya want a good..... ...... I'll post the usless replies to my e-mails with the same question stated in the top post that I got from HB support.... .........if it's broke they take care of ya 1...2...3..... .....ask for help with a problem.....

Seneca 8-2-2011 Fished solo today , two lines in the water by 7:15 am first hour worked west/east 285' to 110' picked up 1 short landlock , 1 short rainbow and lost two......worked north from 8;30am or so picking up 2 legal landlocks , three legal lakers one short rainbow one short landlock and a legal rainbow boxed out at 11:15 am...............41' , 49' 55' , 57 the and 60' took fish. the two highest took bows and landlocks with the three deeper taking lakers..........all spoons..green/white..and a........sunrise type color........around 2.4 to 2.8 GPS. 23" to 24" on two of the lakers I kept shy of 5#.......21" on the bow.......and 17" ,17.5" on the landlocks......lost a total of 5.....9 for 14 I think......good steady bite......weeds are back but not too bad.......but there are some good size pods floating around out there......I was lucky a few times either just missed them or they were coming down the side I didn't have a rod out on..... .......

Yes you get a themo wind...........the bigger the temp drop durning the night from the high the more wind the next day........comes in up here around 7ish and is done around 11ish................I don't see much surface diffents , have seen some cold spots running probe.......pee bucket..... .......pay him no mind he'll help ya just as much as mak'n fun !!!!

Lots of copper pullers in my camp here on Seneca , some also pull out deep with fair results.......just a heads up both lakes have a ton of zebra mussels on the bottom all the way out past 100'.......so they have a "good" or should I say bad feel when there hook gets jammed up with a zerba mussle..........

It has to be in the water to pick up the signal from the probe , then it travels by way of a wire to the head unit................its like a large transducer with a pattle wheel for surface speed and temp..........so yes you could but it would be tricky.............my buddy from Mass. that fished the fall run the same time we did had his transducer rigged up on a steel rod that he would lower into the water and lock down some how.........guess things had a way of coming up missing so most every thing on his boat was easy on/off.....

Yankee Troller I can't find this in my book anywhere did you mean "Advanced mode" ??? I think that the "Noise Filter" may be the problem I'm almost sure I turned that OFF..........and after reading what its for may also solve my higher speed crazy reading when I slow down.........
