  1. Thanks Nick we'll see what they say , YT may have hit it for me on the "noise filter" setting .....I think it maybe turned OFF , I know when Hoot and I did a slow ride back over in the rain had a reading all the way over at speed started to slow down and it went nut'sO.............LOL................ I've been having a real hard time with the browns this year.......you think I've zeroed in on the speed the landlocks and bows like and going to HOT for the browns ????.......I know last year when I had the brown zeroed in I was picking all my rainbows up on the turns and hardly any landlocks ????? Well it's fishing and I NOT complaining those landlocks and bows are crazy fun !!!!!!!
  2. I just sent them this link hope they take the time to help like you guy have...........
  3. Thanks guys............. lakebound88 , I just installed one that went bad the one I'm talking about now I bought thru Cablea's it didn't come with the unit.........it's a Quadbeam...... has the 83@60* , the 200@ 20* and two (2) 45*@30* one each side................ If it keeps up I'll check with Amira (sp) the transducer out fit and buy one of theres...........this unit is really nice or I'm just hooked on color never had that before........next step will be to figure out why my narvonic chip is so far off !!!!!
  4. Sorry tmckenzie , just could not help it !!!!!
  5. ..... ..... ........MuskyBob mite have some thing to say about that !!!!!!! your welcome over here if ya want to Ray !!!!! durning the week !!!!!!
  6. DEFIANCE1 if mine did what yours is doing I could easly live with it all I want to see at this time would be the top 90 to 120 feet and care less what the bottom reading would be. BUT mine will read or seem to lock on a cannonball say at 50' and not read any thing below that. Then some times it just jumps around all over.... thanks for the reply Iceman , this unit is rated for 1,500 feet so if I did have it tilted back to far and it was NOT reading bottom why would it affect the top 90 feet I have it set to read ???? I am having trouble reading my deepest cannonball and put one more click up to see if it was being blow out of the cone angle the last time I was out........but when I was putting that rigger down I was NOT picking up the ball at ALL............so I put it back that click , marked the side of the mount on the boat and tilted it so the cone angle was a tad more in that direction......so yes I don't think it was parallel but should be much closer now....thanks Yankee Troller I'm running a quadbeam and I also have the dual beam that I could switch head units to get to but most of the time I'm just running on the 83/200 anyway...... I have it on the salt deep and fish ID has always been OFF....... I'll have to check the other three not sure.......thanks
  7. nice job..... what kind of do you have........I got looking into them and got sticker shock !!!!!
  8. ......nice report !!!!
  9. WTG...... ......she looks like she's hooked also !!!!!!!
  10. ....... ......love the story and thanks for the report !!!!
  11. Any fishing report good or bad is better than none..............that said where ever you put in I think the west side will have fewer weeds unless we get some heavy wind out of the N, NE then it will be a coin toss !!!
  12. I have a 788ci , that when I'm fishing deep water I set it up to just show the top 90 feet of the water collum. It's OK from shallow till about 350' then around the 400 + feet I'll start getting false bottom read outs. I turn unit off and once in awhile it will work OK but latley no so. I fish Seneca lake with depths up 600+ feet and I fishing blind now when I try and fish the deep water...... I'm in "Advanced" mode and did change the "water type" to deep salt" or else I could not even get a bottom reading over 200' of water............and ideas ?????
  13. I some how missed your last report!!!!!
  14. Meat rigs work all the time..................meat fillet on a fly I have no idea.......seems like it would kill the action of the fly unless I'm missing some thing in the way you put down what you want to do........ when you fish a meat rig you check the roll of the fillet in the meat head........with it hooked to the fly it seems like it would stop the whip-action ......JMHO
  15. If you post up when, where and how long you will be there I'm 99.9% sure someone from the BB here will also be in the area. Pass info back to each other and help when and where they can...............
  16. If your fishing out of a state park that is "day use only" like Lodi Point call Samson state park office and tell them your plan. The one time I did a late trip I had a ticket on my truck when I came back in even thro I have a empirepass !!!!
  17. WTG......he looks like he's HOOKED !!!!!

  22. Seneca 7-30-2011 Bill showed up last night and was ready for a morning bite on Seneca………….off we go over to the west side hoping for a weed free area. Set up in 500+’ and was going to working in too the shore but had some good marks so we worked them over a bit. Picked up a laker down 57’. Then nothing for a while so we worked in to the west side………. ( the 788 ci is up too it ole tricks again over deep water losing bottom reading or locking on a cannon ball no much good to tell ya what’s going on down there ) after we got back in to 250’ it was reading OK again. Found the area was almost weed free and had a steady bit going. Picked up 5 legal landlocks , 5 legal lakers , 2 small browns and 1 legal one and a legal rainbow for a Seneca Grand Slam !!!!! Ran three rigger and 5 color lead core for a short time then pulled it after some striger weeds got on it never put it back down………….deep rigger for lakers and one landlock was 61’ the later 71’ and 81’………….had one rigger pulling browns , rainbow and some landlocks at 49’ other rigger was parked at 54’ and picked up only landlocks………….all spoons long leads…….we were stuck on 13 and it was getting HOT and nearing noonish so I stuck the waypoint in from the first laker of the day and just as we were getting to it the deep rigger down 81’ fired with the 14th fish……………..WHAT A GREAT time !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. Thanks guys.......we are getting a stiff west wind now so the west side should clear out..........middle will be messed up with scum/weed lines running east/west instead of north/south....................good luck out there.........
  24. Seneca 7/29/2011 Hoot and I gave it a go this morning a bit late but worked out OK……..fished from 7:30am to 11:45am……….8 lakers…….5 landlocks…….one rainbow………lost two good landlocks and two lakers…..+ 4 hits with no one home…………..west side for a while had a weed free area that kept choking up …..went for a tad over a mile down too less than a city block ( small city )……….after we were jammed up with weeds for the 6 or 7th time went looking a bit south of where we were……..didn’t like the way the lake was building so we crossed over and trolled back to Lodi…………..picked up three laker on that side and one hit without anyone on………………57’ for the lakers on the west side……….67’ on the east side……..rainbow came on the 57’ rigger on a inside turn ??? the landlocks all came on the 49’ rigger stinger size spoon…………..weed were spoty on the east side…….. worked the 80’ to 100 FOW……………
