Seneca 7-5-2011 Went out with Bill today ran across lake to west side set-up three riggers with spoons and trolled north. Weeds,weeds and more weeds scatter every where. Thought maybe on north side of Long Point may be better. We did pick up one 19†landlock around the point but weeds were not much better on the north side………….motor across to just above Willard on east side had some nice marks but could not get them to go…….OH…….and weeds, weeds every where on that side also………….at least Bill got one fish anyway then the best part we came in clean the landlock and I had two soaking in brown sugar from the other day , deep fryed the one from today and did the other two on the grill with melted butter,lemon juice salt and pepper…………MmmmmmmmMMMmmmm!!!!!

Oh your 16'er is a tad small for Seneca on some days it can gets nasty. ...... but your'll only be a bit over 20 minutes from Deans Cove on Cayuga and what ever it is to the north end from there.........

Inside the park about 80 yards from the road they have a boat parking area......we have the NAFC Finger Lakes Meet out of the park. The guys that bring there boats all park along or on the camp sites they rent. So most have room on site , some of the seasonal site don't...........I'll look for a few pictures for you if your interested......and post them up.

Davey your Dad said he's coming to camp next week after it clears out.......if jigging is your thing a lot of folks wack the lakers doing that.......that what I did when I gave the jigging a try.......jig for awhile....then troll to get some fish in the box.......now I like to try for the multi-specie so I troll most all the time...........I never got good at the jigging for lakers so I sure could not treak it so I could get the others out there !!!!

I stay at SunSetOnSeneca campgrounds opens April 15th , closes October 15th. Seasonal trailer on a lot I own trailer they own lot. Lodi State marine park launch is less than a mile from camp. Rent is less than $2,000/season includes trash , electric, one sewer pump out (1,000 gal) is rated on size of trailer,porch , encolsed ect.... Ok..... Think I can get a good reading on the kicker side ????? Or will I have to relocate the sacrificial anoid and put it there ?????

I don't think I have enough room on the back to put the probe away from the transducer for interferance..........but the otherside has the kicker motor did any of you put your probe/transducer there ????? I'm going to take a picture of the back of the boat and post it up !!!!!!

Ok Ray I have the boat all hooked up , be taking it down to the lake in a bit. Now after I launch it in the water and then put it back on the trailer ...... .......what then ????????....... ........

It was good today with the quadbeam transducer....I have to call them on that stock transducer (dualbeam ) I'll wait till I have a good 30 minutes to just sit and wait for a real person to get on the phone........OK I'm done......

I was just about out of the shute and saw Hoot pull in so I went back and waiting for him to drop his stuff off at camp and come back.............we hit the east side worked up to the first point fighting weeds so pulled up went out beyond the first scum line and trolled across to west side......got the 788ci to hold a picture of the top 100' ....lost it but got it back in short order.. ........got on the west side worked north found fish nice landlock Hoots bad net job hooked net then fish flopps up in the air and back in the WATER... ......so he's still out there...........picked up a small laker ......then Hoot has a good one on and just try's bringing it in too fast lost it and it's laying on top... ..looks like a fat brown......just about back to it and it revived and down he went..... .......after that we boated 5 more lakers and three landlocks..... ......surface temp 68* to 69*.....no fleas ( but my rigs are semi flea proof anyway)........weeds thick in some areas so you have to take what the lake will give ya !!!!!! or just work harder keeping lines clean......not as bad with a extra hand on the boat !!!! Picked most fish at 38' down , could have beat up on the lakes at 51' and also 24'.......spoons long leads......three riggers had 5 color core in for a bit but pulled it working a small area to much hassel............speed was 2.5 to 3.2 lost or missed at least 6.....

Thanks Nick !!!!........ Nick when you 788ci transducer did the total screen just go blank ????? I was going across with mine tring to just read the top 90' got false reading so I put it back in full auto mode........then the bottom reading lost the multi-color and was light blue color , no cluter , marks what so ever so I switched to other transducer ( I put two on when I read about yours breaking down so many times) then later switched back and all I got was a white screen no reading at all weak or other wise !!!!!.......I sent one head unit back already waiting to hear on that one , had one transducer bracket break and they replaced that.......have a roostertail issue that I took pictures of sent into them to look at and tell me how to fix ( still nothing on that , so I sent them again and asked for a recite when they got it , got it back and still no word) realy impressed so far !!!!!!! Like the frick'n unit .....when it works !!!!!!

Good report and thanks for the up-to-the-minute one also..... ........not to be a smart A but were they at the knot (fleas) .....maybe that popular/button ball junk instead that likes to hang up on the knots ?????? temp seems low for fleas I've been showing 64* to 66* surface.....seems like 70* was the temp before with 10' to 15' of it stacked up on top............but then last year the little buggers didn't want to go away even when the water was cooling off........man it will be a lllloooonnngg season if those little buggers load up now and last into October !!!!!!

Yep , sent one in for repair , now looks like the dual transducer is shot , brand new !!!!!

Well after that storm we got yesterday Seneca was like Lake George after a thunder-BOOMer.......wind was out of the west building.....worked east side nothing going trolled acrossed to west side messing with new depthfinder..... the signal seem to get real weak and was not marking much of any thing so switched out to other transducer.....much better but fish still not doing any thing....worked a few good areas with only two very weak bites ( fish take lure rod tip comes up some ) got into floating weeds a few times......worked back across .....trolled north .....this would be about the 10th or so spoon change .....spotted a few marks deeper than I had any thing down dropped one rigger just above............fish on......one 20" laker saved the day........pulled other line and went in only a mile from launch.........on the water at 6:30am , off at 12:30..... the west wind has the scumline/weedy area in a east west line instead of the normal north south.......put the weak transducer back on and nothing on screen !!!!!! Got back and went to cover boat up and gas tank cap was missing......Geshssssssssssss what a year !!!!!!!
