Things should be getting better , the lakers were taking the bait deeper today..........that landlock only had some kind of bugs in his gut , nasty greenish stuff.................... don't be afraid to run big stuff I've taken 6.5" alwiefs out of some of the browns the past few weeks..............still have not had a hit on a slider for awhile.................ran bigger spoons for sliders the other day dropped back down today or matched the bottom spoons...................the east side maybe tuff with all the west wind but I had deep temp on the west side today ????????? I thought the cold stuff should be on the west .....oh well..........Geshhhhhh.............you would think I learned some thing today but it's still all messses up...................
Seneca 9-15-2010
Went 8 for 11 or 12 nothing big..............lakers were from 17" to 20"...........
Brother Stan and his dog King went out with me today. Plan was the same as yesterday but work the laker area to see if we could get some thing else going. We boated 4 lakers in that area then I changed my mind and moved to a rainbow/salmon area instead of the brown spots....................picked up one dink salmon (10" is that a little small for stocking seems like they are around 12" years past)...........and kepy on working down to a better spot. Picked up a 20.5" @ 2# 12 oz one more dink and a laker also had about three misses for the day.................all spoons............every thing came 62' to 82' down over various depths...............temp break is better but much deeper than it should be................
Long Point is a bass dudes nightmare , I've been over there south of the point in a good chop hear those bass dudes flying up the side in near glass smoth water hit the point and they go air bound in the chop that's on the open water.............I think that maybe what happen but not sure..........there was a nasty storm in that area I could see (kept my EYE on it ) from were I was around Lodi.......................
Took out the boys from oHIo today banged a laker early on 18 to20" put it back looking for some BIG browns and didn't bother working that area................we went 3 for 6 the two browns we boated were about 12" good call on my part.................. ...................worked a lot of areas found lots of bait good marks temp was better than yesterday so maybe in the AM it will be time to bang them............
I heard the drug this boat to Lodi Point and turned it backover here...................anyway when I was getting my boat back on the trailer today I found a black zippered bag in the water it had spark plugs in it and bearing like for a boat trailer..........if you know these guys and it's there's I gave them to the park guy at Lodi...............
Some folks out from oHIo from the NAFC late start with a storm north of us then one more passed south of us. We went 1 for 2 a 5# 11oz male brown @22".... that was it .....still running all spoons , all larger ones have not had a hit on a small slider spoon the last 4 times out...................temp is messed up run into a wall of warm water in spots..............Dennis brown what a great fight it gave him........
Fished from Lodi north to Samson and some back went 9 for 9 6 small lakers and three browns. All (three) riggers , long leads and spoons. Fished with Hoot from the camp here listen to the L.O.U. boys some on the radio............. ...............funny stuff......browns were 4#14 oz and the other two were 4# 6 oz...............
Here's Hoot with the browns.............
It sounds like they took of the (pig-tail) for the bait end off. The one I'm looking at here , the one end has a bit more bend in it and a dent in the dodger for the welded ring to ride in and that end is where the bait, lure goes......hope this helps..................
I did the chain deal for awhile not sure it was any better , drilled hole in back of cannon ball added a eyelet , cheap snap/swivel , douled over #30 test line and a few feet of logging chain.............
I have a 2004 gold and got the 2008 Premium in 2009 for $99.00 .........told the guy at BassPro I would be fishing mostly the fingerlakes and he said to save a few bucks and get last years chip for about $50.00 less...............I did......I love it .....
