  1. Nice report , good luck today !!!
  2. ........I've been thinking about making a run over to Deans Cove...........then you can point at me................
  3. i thought you were still fishing the OTHER lake........ ......JK.............WTG on the 8# nice fish !!!
  4. Nice going , I also got my 1st grandslam this year and was close for my second one yesterday.............
  5. I got back out today went 4 for 5 three lakers and abrown boated. Nice brown small lakers................
  6. 8-16 was a late start with the thunder going on got on the water after 10:30 am went 4-4 all lakers small but the three I kept were good eating. 8-17 I had my two lines in the water before 7am fished till 1:30 pm went 5 for 6 + one lampry 18.5" biggest I've seen in a long time he came in on a raibow the same size.......Boxed all 5 fish nice mix 2 brown , 2 rainbows and a small laker.
  7. I got out today after 10ish , around Lodi the surface water is 73.5 ish with + 70* water down 60 feet on the east side west wind. Trolled across to west side about the same within 5' for temp. but both sides drop off fast after hitting the 70*..................went 4 for 4 all lakers all small but the three I kept will look good fried up soon..........
  8. WTG lakebound88 , that wind sure moved a LOT of water. Last time I was out there was 60+ feet of over 70* water around Lodi................ Andrew I fished the 48* to 50* water hard (= that's where I kept my baits all the time) in 2005 from April 15th till mid Aug. I looked back on my log and all I had landed was lakers. I said to myself DUH if you keep your baits in that cold of water that's all your going to get, Since then I've started my top bait always 55* or above my multi specie has been much, much better since. Then again when fishing alone and only being able to run two (2) rods my skunk level has increased also. On the 24th of July I got my 1st Seneca grand-slam , boated three legal landlocks , one legal rainbow , one legal brown and a legal laker. Some days even when I'm fishing in the GOOD temp zone it's hard to hook up. I'll mark the deep guys at say 72 and 90 I pick one then see them more at the other depth. Change that out and see them at the depth I was just at......
  9. You can also make your own out of rebar...............
  10. There was a BIG die off of pike and the fishing has been poor this year and last from reports I read............anyway if your going to be there a spot or two you could also try is east side by boyscout camp and just above by Willard nice flat up there hold bass and pike............where you staying ???........you could also jig for lakers.
  11. If I'm by myself I'll fish with the wind at my back makes it easier to control boat. Bang a fish or two and I'll go back thru and will have to add gas going into the wind. Seneca flow is south to north so IF there isn't any wind your bait/lure would be going faster on a north troll direction. Some times east , west works also. Don't just figure to troll in only one direction all the time you will miss out.
  12. Nice fish Rodney!!!
  13. Striperhound , you have a LONG mail............lol
  14. Well long story short this motor has been driving me NUTS'O... ............today it is fixed,,,,,,, I hope..............the supply hose from the inline gas canister would colapse after the fuel pump would start pumping good and I would lose power...............anyway if you has a fuel supply problem check that hose for weak spots guess the E-10 did a job on it. I also had some trailer problem that I repaired today.
  15. I agree with chowder , Navionics Hot Maps Premium is great and if youpick up last years you could save about $50.00. If your looking some some thing cheaper and making a hard copy take a look here.............. http://www.fugawi.com/web/products/navi ... plorer.htm sound like a good deal for $20.00 but you would have to check to be sure Cayuga is in that deal...... for get that one Seneca or Cayuga are not on the list...................sorry about that
  16. The 70* of water I was trying to tell you about was off my probe 70* water 76* on top and still 70 65 feet down....... this was on the EAST side with a NW blow that just went thru pushing alot of warm water over to the east side could be differnt on the west................
  17. I ran one rigger rod yesterday with 35# Tiger Braid and it was FULL of fleas. My 30# Ande only had a trace at the knot..... for the weed pods it will be a brown color , the smaller floater , strigers if yo look out at the water and it has a "shine" to it or looks flater you will find weeds in that area.
  18. It's dead flat right now the wind has been out of the NW and there are more weeds on the east shore with about 65' of 70+ * water. The west side has fewwr weed right now both the HUGE weed pods could be around thick enough to stall your troll. Fleas are still a pain if your not running 30# main line of FF line. I use this web site for wind and if it's 12 mph or less I OK to go 15 to 20 you better be looking for a area to help block it. here is the site http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=14860 If this hold up it should not be to bad. I'm out of Lodi Point
  19. Happy Birthday Eric , we'll have to have a cup a coffee togather some time in Lawton or Montrose and talk about Ray .
  20. I got out today with a buddy from camp here on his boat , new to him so it was all new. It looked weedy on the Lodi side so I had he run across and we tryed setting up about a mile south of long point in 160' FOW. He had bigjon's with rubber band releases , kept breaking on me...............anyway not much to report other than his boat ran fine new depthfinder needs to have the transducer tweaked a bit..........had the dran this in fish ID mode finnaly when we got just below showboat on the flats just north of Severne turned the ID off marked some baitpods small ones and a few fish tight to bottom in 95' to 110' FOW.............sorry not much help this time but the weeds are not real bad on that side................flea's were a pain with his light line on his poles.............I run 30# and light leader lines for my spoon riggs , and 30# on my flasher riggs and get few fleas..............if your running lighter line be ready the pull them every 20 minutes or so and clean them off.............
  21. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Ray
  22. was the snap failing on your other one's ??? That seems to be what I am getting mostly on the "black" color one's. I was told they acid wash them to get them "black" and weaken them.................any way what size and color ( plain sliver or black ) have you been using ? Have you used any of them for spoons ? If so waht size. Thanks.
  23. I have not been out since the 24th and had motor problems so I stayed around Lodi. Wire picked the biggest laker for use 180' out , lost a nice rainbow 40' down 45' back 3.5" alwife spoon ( Mi. Stinger) rigger bite was best at 75' down back 15' dodger peanut. I hope to get back out and see if motor is OK and if it is I'll may give it a try in the Severne area north of the launch but turn back before the first Showboat shoal. Weeds will some time build up around those shoals....................good luck and have fun..................
  24. Ray I can't find your phone # send me a PM.............
  25. Ok , if you want it you can have it. I'll be back at camp some time Sunday.........
