Seneca 8-6-09 Boys had a hard time making up there minds if they wanted to go or not so it was after 8am when we went down. Then the road crew had the road closed after they told us they would keep one lane open. Tall Paul BS with them and the let us thru. What a chop today worst than yesterday but to late for Stan and King to back out- hang on boys we're going across. Fished west side south of where we were yesterday and could not get any thing to fire for some time. Then Stan landed a small laker that we put back. Weeds were not bad but fleas were , they were sticking to my 30# Andre line so we were clearing line about every 20 minutes or so after we lost one laker that the fleas jammed up the eye of the pole. These fish-hook fleas are the worst seem to stick to every thing. We went on up into the area that was hot yesterday and landed 2 landlocks , one laker and a nice 19" brown at 3#12oz. lost two more lakers that did a light bite deal for us.Not a bad day , Stan , Paul and Kinger got a bite to eat and headed home all quite here now the way Gracie likes it......LOL Here is our fish-finder

To ruff for brother Stans dog so Tall Paul and I went out a little after 8am. Ran across to the west side set up and trolled south didn't have all the rods in when the 44' down back 40' spoon went off with a 20" landlock. Then by 9:50 am we boxed the LL and 6 lakers , lost one laker and put back a laker and 12" brown. Set up just spoons to try for more landlocks or bows pulled lines at 11:50 am nothing more but weeds and fleas at my knots. The biggest laker was 26.5" 5# 14oz , two at 20.5" and three at 21.5" + the 20" landlock.

Dave I still have those releases up here for ya!!! I also but aside a few a buddy made for use with a rubber band for you to take a look at if you want them.

Jason Stan and Paul will be here till Thrusday morning I think but when they leave and when they get the road done out front I'll give you a yell for weed detail...............LOL

I'll tell ya Dave I have all kinds of flys , spin-doctors- BTI flashers and the old dodger peanut has just been steady all year. So yep the peanut has been real good to me. If you were looking across the lake before dark last night you could see us working that area just one pass down and back then heading in.

Out for the evening bite with brother Stan and his buddy Tall Paul gave the point a shot too many weeds so we ran over to west side. Boated 4 lakers three 72' down back 18' on dodger peanut and one on a spoon down 52' back 40'. 23" ,23" 24" and 25".

Hit the water about 7ish with Hoot and Don (82 years young). Fished the east side for a while weeds were as bad as yesterday with out the bait or marks so we pulled up and headed too the west side. Weeds were bad over there also but we had a better screen. Picked up two lakers and two landlocks. The lakers were 72' down 18' back glow dodger peanut. Landlock #1 was 44' down 40' back spoon and 16". #2 Landlock was 34' down 35' back on a spoon and 23" 3#14oz. Rain and very little chop made the weed pods very hard to see.

Launched out of Lodi with Hoot on board just after 7 am. Boated 6 lakers (from 17" to 24" ) , one salmon 17.5"and a rainbow 19". All lakers were taken on a dodger/peanut 18' back 72' and 64' down. Landlock and rainbow on a spoon 40' back 44' down................weeds , weeds and more weeds but the fish were in there when the light wind stopped so did the fish. Ran three riggers. Back in at 12ish.....

18' to 20' back from the ball for the dodger/peanut that I was using that day. When I run flashers I run them shorter 8' to 10' to start , I'll have to give Ray's up close a try.

I started using StarTron this year last year my inline canister filter was changed three times. So far this year I'm on the same one and my motor runs better.

Late shot at 4:30 pm till 6:30 pm picked up 3 lakers and a legal LL salmon. 72' down 18' back dodger peanut did the lakers and 51' down 60 back with a Alwife spoon for the LL.

Hit Lodi launch at 10:50 am BS with the Park guy for a bit then Carol and I got it in the water. Off the water and boat on the trailer by 1:30 pm went 6 for 8. Three on a dodger-peanut and three on alwife spoon. 72' for the dodger - 42' and 52' 65' back for the spoons. Largest was 23" the rest were cookie cutter 21" ers. No fleas weeds were in on the east side but in pods so it was fishable with some work cleaning when needed. Ran three rods all on downriggers.

Navionics HotMaps Premium Lake Maps 2008 Edition is the one I was talking about above..........I have only used it on Seneca.

Not sure what you want it all to do Chris but I put a old ( I had it for two years thought I would have to tear floor out to to install antea) IntelliMap 480 Eagle. It has a 5" screen no color was not to hard to figure out. It will do way more things than I'll ever want it to. Has a program so the map will turn so it's easier to follow back to a way point or you can just leave it so it's facing north all the time. I picked up a Navionics chip at BassPro guy talked me into the 2008 for $99.00. Works get for Seneca I can see the shaols on the chip. I have a HotMaps Gold East 2004 that I paid over $200.00 that was OK but this one blows that one away. Draw back is the depth # are very small and hard to see. I looked for a fornt size but didn't find one yet. You do have to adjust it so the water is white and land gray makes it easier to see also had to kick up contrast. I'm sure there are much better units out there but for under $300.00 it's hard to beat..............put the left overs for raydar next year!!!!!

Sent you a PM Justin. Shallow 60' FOW. Deep 140' FOW. Spoons in shallow then when it get later work out deeper with your flasher/dodger/spinny program. If your on the east side weed free early look for the floating weeds to move in on you some time from 9:00 am on when you have a SSW wind. You will have to go deep or head back to the west side.

Just south of Severne is a marker out in the lake in about 60' - 70' of water that some diving team has there for about two weeks or better. Just a heads up. The weeds have been spotty on that side a week ago with a large build up of small floaters north of the Showboat. If when you launch do a short drive south then back north checking for weeds if you find a lot head east across lake it should be better.

MyKey I'm sorry I didn't get back to you by PM but I'm at the lake and the last one I have in there package is home. I tryed looking for them on the web but didn't find them. If I remember right this guy bought out the owner of the ones you would have. He has a shop out of a small building in and around the Mexico Point Launch area I think. May be someone else on here would know for sure. S & R brand ???

Nice going Dave , you are a better man than I am , those legal landlocks go in the cooler best eating fish in the lake IMHO......
