  2. Tuff bite back out today from 8ish till 1:30 pm did a laker off the wire rod , a small bow and a 5# female brown..... brown was 51' down off rigger and FLT spoon......
  3. I gave him heck for losing that landlock....LOL.. Thanks guys... Good luck on the big pond Les...
  4. Tall Paul came up to fish some we ( Paul , Hoot , Kinger boy and I ) got down to the lake after 10 fished till 3ish both sides , went 1 for 4 lost two of wire 240' out and 210' out , had a good salmon on for two jumps at 61' down flt hi vis spoon and Paul landed this brown ( about 7.5# ) off probe rigger at 51' down , evil glow goby tape job ...tad ruff out there but we had a fair time on the water.....
  5. Above the marks , the fish see the bait/spoons/atractors above them if you below they will not see it.
  6. They are great to see....... we been seeing one or two up this way and every no and then a osprey....... over by Dean Cove in the power line is a huge nest like you see along 5 & 20 going to BassPro ..... pretty sure that they are osprey nest also......
  7. Nice report guys....Alec do you have jigs in stock ???? I going to give that a go before the seasons over for me and would like so GOOD jigs to do it with.
  8. Go ahead that makes my day...... I know I could do better if I use that camera more.....
  9. Thanks everyone....enjoy..... I should have got the movie camera out and taped the fighting going on with the hawk , then between the vultures.... it was funny !!!!!.....also to watch the lone vulture walk in on the woodchuck..... look left.....look right.....take a step....stop ....look left....look right....took him a few minutes to be sure it was dead and no one or thing was going to get him........LOL
  10. I rang the dinner bell again...shot a woodchuck down by the barn and left him for the critters...... A lone turkey vulture showed up first.....then they were waiting in line on the roof of the barn....looked out later and A red tail hawk was out here fighting with the turkey vultures for the wood chuck , they chased him away then later he was back eating again………….I had to make a phone call and did and was getting ready to go out…. and see the eagle down there………… get the good camera out and shaking like I’m shooting a huge buck but I got some good pictures and missed some great shot because I didn’t know how to switch fast enough………
  11. Thanks Frogger it was colored up NICE..... some of the reds didn't show up good in the picture...
  12. Some times I can out run it not always..... it took two days to get the grand-slam.....
  13. I hear ya on the copper , I only ran two riggers going into that chop , but putting another 12 # brown in the boat with Hoot on the rod is a trip of a life time !!!! It took me years of yelling at him to let the rod and drag do the work of wearing the fish down...... he would give them BASS style hook-set and just reef on them bring them in and lose them..... .....he's had two good years now .....
  14. I was wondering who that was , I had a good bow on when you were on the outside of us. Got it up to the side of the boat and release it and put that rigger back down...... then heard you say about the radio..... I pulled it out of the glove box in the box and held it up.. ...have to figure out where to install it...... good to hear you had a good day Les ...... it got lumpy for awhile.....
  15. We got back out today in the chop , picked a good bow up early on about 5# didn't take picture just got it back in....had a few releases without anyone home ...... lost a good brown that jumped two times... boat another small bow and Hoot got this solid 12 # brown in and broke my rod after I netted it and got it in the boat...... put it in the live-well for awhile and got him back in the lake in good shape ready to fight another day !!!!!!
  16. Thanks Justin , I think I know where the browns were just had to get off the water before we could hook up....... could see that white jagged stuff coming out of some clouds north of us so we pulled lines quick and headed in..........
  17. What are you going to run on your down riggers ? I have 5 set-ups ...... one for spoons...... one for flasher fly / dodgers ..... one for DEEP flasher fly dodgers , one for flea's running spoons and two spare reels with flea-flicker for flasher fly dodgers....
  18. Things looked iffy early so after it cleared out Hoot and I went down to give it a go....... temps were a lot colder at the depths we fished the other day but I still ran 52' and 58' and one wire rod for awhile.......... LOTS of bows, a landlock and one small laker.....lost count but boated fish were in the double digits with 4 lost ...... nothing on the wire......few fleas , lots of weeds..... kept a good bow and a landlock for the grill....... ( needed a brown for a grand slam ).......
  19. The first one we put back took quite awhile to get it ready to go so after that I put them in the live-well till they were feisty and swimming up right ....... before I got the bogo grip I didn't like bring them in the boat at all for just a picture but like you said hurry up and get them back in as fast as you can but I don't mind eating either so I've gone to the bogo+picture+livewell = back in the lake or cut the gills then put them on ice....... this boat has a 42 gal live -well so when they are in good shape I have to catch them again...
  20. Thanks guys !!!! I know there are a lot bigger fish out there !!!
  21. Thanks guys , these fish are always changing some...... when I first got into trying to get them in 2005 I found them with some bows mixed in... I picked up a 9+ pound rainbow that year and year before last we got a 10# 3oz rainbow for my granddaughter.....last year the great nephews beat up on the browns a number of 5 and 6 pounders and a 7 , 8 , 8.5 and 10 #er and later after they went back I got my personal best 12.5#er.... so I just had to put this guy on the wall...the next year fishing the same way I was into landlocks with bows mixed in.... kind of like that till this year..... just could not get them to go with the new boat so I had to get back in laker mode with wire rods or keep getting skunks ...... then I would give the browns ago and not hook up ...... now the past two weeks been picking up mainly real good browns with BIG lakers in the same area !!!!! just got to love this type of fishing....... I always say I'd rather be lucky than know every thing about this sport !!!! I also had the mind set if you wanted browns get up before daylight and get out there....I say now if you want browns just fish for them where you think they maybe.......if not go for the lakers..... Thanks again guys wish you all great luck next time on the water !!!!!
