6-22 , got boat squared away from the last few times out , and put cover on in case of rain...... plan at that time was to get out as many times as I could to torment IronDuke while he had to work....so 6-23 wind just a ripping it did lay down some later in the day but I didn't go out..... 6-24 wind and some rain ...... 6-25 wind laid down nice BUT rain and heavy fog could not even see lake from camp... 6-26 coffee is made looks OK out there time to uncover boat and head down !!!!

I've only picked up a laker that had a bad spine ( no other fish like that ) , it was a stocker so I just thought it happen in the hatchery that was 6 or so years ago , with the rainbows being stocked for a few years now it maybe that ???

Interest take on this guys, thanks. Now in just what I have seen and read as to Seneca that could also apply here...... increase natural reproduction because of zebras and quaggas beds on top of the silting from high flow input from the 70's and to date.... when I was chasing laketrout hard on Seneca it seemed like they were in 3 different temp ranges ( based on the lake being set-up with a good thermalcline ) ..... way out of temp early on with most of these fish without fin clips......in the normal temp range hugging the bottom ( most were clipped fin fish ) .... and out in no-mans land ....... and this is just my opinion based on what I think I have seen and also read.... take it with a grain of salt.

I just took a ride over to check it out....interesting , hope they have someone empty it every day , if they do that would explain the no change thing..... you don't have to punch in your passport # just park and if they come looking they will write it down..... I didn't look around for camera's but they sure should have some...... two rigs in the lot one fishing from shore other a trailer...... should take money and print a credit that you could use next time......

This thread is from 2011 , sounds like DEC increase in creel limit has helped decrease the # of lakers which has increased the average size of the fish and the bait fish population...... but I think as Bigfoot posted all the lakes are a few weeks behind and with the crazy storms messes up the temps in the water column.... may need to go into search mode more to find the fish.....

Nice report , I had a deal with a guy the other day just the two of us out there............. we were coming south he was coming north , I was busy in the back clearing/cleaning lines and my buddy was driving..... said what about this guy coming looked over my shoulder saw he was in closer to shore than we were so I said let him have the inside just give him some room because of shoals and such...... so he kept going out some and that guy would come out some.....anyway not sure if the guy made a hard turn to let us know he wanted the outside or not but you get to a point of no return...... we were about 5 boat lengths away from the guy ( he's alone ) and he turns into us.............move some more and he keeps coming..... so me being me yell WTF give us some room before you drive over our spread........... he yells back YOU BEEN cutting my turn off all along....... I just throw my hands up..... heck a few minutes and we both could have gone merrily on our way...... If it looked like we were cutting ya off bud we wanted the inside and were just trying to give you room what can I say !!!!!
