  1. Nice Les , making me antsy........ heading back up later today........
  2. NICE JOB cuz !!!!! Good luck on Lake O.
  3. When I came home the south end was nasty looking they got a TON more rain than we did in the Lodi area the east shore line out to near middle had a HUGE mudline....I sure there is a bunch of junk floating around also... KEEP your eyes open up on plane.... the creek by the campground was still running underground........just saying....... it's turning into a atractor bite having to go deeper also....... I hate to give up on my spoon program BUT if you want to have more action on the rods that would be the better choice............ but hey I'll be back up soon and I'll be dropping in the spoons....... nothing hard headed about me.............
  4. I did this didn't see many problems the OLE 1988 runs much better on it ....... saw LOTS of problems when I had to use the e-10 crap ....... I used the startron before all the time every fill up...... not any more...... thanks to FasTrac....,... there is also a Fastrac in Mexico....... if you don't get a break on you CC for gas take the time to apply for the Fastrac card save you $.07/gal and $.10/Gal on Sundays................
  5. Davey get those spoons wet and let me know with pic's how great they are............ Les I tell her ALL the time this is the LAST tackle I need to buy because I'll have it all...........she just shakes her head and at me and says sure, sure I heard that before....... ..... dbutts water is changing fast I'll be going back into fishing mode soon and keep my finger crossed for some catching...... christrouthunter988 , thanks it good to hear some feed back on the fishing report........... Back in Pa. now got some stuff to do down here hope to be back up in a day or two.......
  6. Nice report Andy........... Nautitroller WTG it doesn't get much better than that great times to llok back on when ya get Ole and grey like Les.....er some old guys on here............... Bobber alway great to read a report from you and Kade ....... and a derby winning fish WOW !!!! great job all
  7. How did you do Andy ?
  8. Seneca 8/10/2013 Carol came up late yesterday so I was hoping to get her into some quailty fish some time this weekend but with the water temps. mixed up I was a tad worried............. we got up this am had a few coffees and I asked her what do you think ????? She said she could do some fishing.........so I got the boat ready and got Kingerboy and down we went............. shortly after setting up the 61' rigger goes and she hooks up with a 17" or better bow...... got it to the side of the boat and reached down with plyers and shook it off..... DW ss sliver glow alwife spoon.......... a bit later the 51' rigger goes off with another nice bow about the same size ....... FLT dirty series spoon ............ same deal get him to the side and shake him off the hook............... then a dry spell........ good screen ......lots of bait shallow....deep .... inbetween....... some weeds.....some trace fleas...... surface temp down to 69*.....down temp about the same as the other day....... then we get out of the bait for awhile but more fish marks....... tweak a rigger here ....tweak one there ..... keep doing thins for some time..... the the 61' rigger goes again same spoon as before............. good fish............get it to back of boat to close to trolling motor...........wind is NOT helpping ..... making boat control while you have a net in the other hand tufff..................... anyway I get a net under it.............22" brown a tad over 6 pounds...OH yea that's what I'm talking about................. anyway this is her PB brown and I have the BIG weight off my back that I finnally hooked up a good one for her..whewwwwww !!!!!!!....... pulled lines and headed in , boated that piggy just before 11am................
  9. I had a Moor 900 for years good unit ...... the coated wire that came with it was junk......replaced that..... the probe got water in it and needed to be replaced , that could have been my falt...... one battery was good for the season for me...........anyway I replaced the whole deal with a X4 battery life is about the same as Moor , maybe one more a year for the X4 still good............. when the X4 goes I'd replace it again with one ..... down side you do (or I do) pick up some interference from it on my depthfinder but not much.... big pluss I can run it on any downrigger no need for coated wire........ I run Cannon rigger with short-stop not sure how yours work.............
  10. The past three years on Seneca they just seem to not quit , I know there are two types the fish-hook being the worst....... it seems like they are turning into a breed of there own and that is scray...... what next have the little buggers here the whole year !!!!..... just seem to keep running into pockets of them right into closing camp in October yet on Lake O the are pretty much gone in late August !!!!
  11. I know what your talking about Les , a tad after 5 I put King out on his chain to do his duty ........ got a wind gust as I was on the deck...... then I could hear the waves beating up the shore............came back in and took a look at the wind forcast ....... got the BIG coffee cup out and filled it ............ Two more thing I saw out there yesterday weeds were not bad ....... and another bloom of fleas is showing up I still have the flea flicker on so no problem ......41' rigger was loaded up just above the ball.........
  12. Slept in the other day after the boys left....... yesterday looked a tad too lumpy solo ( that made Kingerboy smile )........today at 5:15am it was raining , thunder and that stuff I don't like one little bit...................so just before noon I couldn't take it anymore so out Kingerboy and I went............had some spoons I dr.er-up I wanted to try ....... banged a 17" bow one one ...... then I put my OLE dirty spoon down that I had Bob paint a two years ago and kept outa the water till he painted up a new batch for me...... out deep playing with the depthfinder look back 41' rigger with the dirty spoon on rod straight up....... I get to rod fish is going crazy jumping two or three great jumps....... I get slack out and it's gone....... that was it got too hot wind switched and dark clouds out of the west ...... raining now as I write this................ If you get out water collum is mixed up surface temp is two or three degrees lower and mixed in with the rest after the blow the other day...... down temp is 10' deeper than last time out.....both sides of the lake............so if you have temp at the ball put it down first ....... looking at 61* at 51' .......55* at 61' some times higher !!!!!!
  13. How come they don't pin for you ??? They pin a year old derby !!!!!!!!!
  14. Maybe I missing some thing here when cooper came on I quit jumping on to the "new way " to catch fish. I already had down riggers , wire dispys , two SWR 3 color core and a 5 color core , a 20 color core ( I only got this wet a few times lots of work reeling that baby in )...... mono slide divers , braid dipsys , short roller rod wire to use with a # ball or better a 10 roller rod with wire same deal to run with a #1 lead ball........ anyway they are didfent way to catch fish......copper came out to put less line out and some what copy lead core..... now as Gill - T stated using a " musky torpedo " or other type weight on the line after all the copper is in the water you would have the same action.......... Like I said I may be missing some thing here but wouldn't putting a dipsy on the end of the copper just kind of be like a wire dispy rig ????? Isn't the idea of copper / lead core some more action in the water collum ???

  16. Next month I'll be hosting it again........ so get ready !!!!!
  17. Happy B-Day baldy !!!
  18. Just north of Long Point is a number of shoals , my brother Stan usta call them icecream cones...... NASTY bad if your working a conture and its starts coming up on you trun HARD back out in the lake some are so bad you almost have to go back in the other direction to gain some depth...... ..... all kidding aside keep a close eye in that area and if you can't hold depth and it keeps coming up don't waste any time bringing your deep rigger up....... west side shaols are worst trolling south but that area is bad in any direction...... just south of the the point is a major shoal that's nasty coming into it on a south troll not as bad heading north.....
  19. Thanks Bucky...... made me wore out just going back over this post !!!!! Good luck in FairHaven , I waited to long to book up there and Ole KingerBoy get ta shaking pretty bad here on Seneca with just a chop on the water I think he would have the BIG ONE on Lady O !!!!!!
