I have bought them from Tom in the past and was very happy with what I got ,Then they went on sale for ??% off recieved the spoons all put in the same box where they had banged into each other with small dings in the paint job , with one spoon that was NOT at all like pictured on his web page. Anyway "quality control" shipping like that is not "quality control" .

Probe is just another tool , fishing as you just said is the best way for sure with or without a probe always fish the marks !!!!!!
-
It's all good info....... ....... it's tuff thing to define and you did a great job , I just had to go with Nick and bust ya a little !!!!!!
-
Nick is dead on with the temp reading , using small words I agree with both guys as to when it will show up on your depth finder and that was your question...... in my small words it would look like your tracking your downrigger ball or a long strung out bait pod that is as Nick said 25' to 75' thick (now going OFF-TOPIC )BUT with a temp probe you can find the "Thermocline?? " this time of year also it may be VERY thin ( a few feet ) but is setting up now. I would not be surprised that the north end of Seneca is there now. It very fragile this time of year and the wind can change it from day , or move it from one side of the lake to the other and have pockets all over in between ……………..now this is just my opinion based on the use of a subtroll 900 for 8 years and a X4 for two.

-
I'll tell him , he's been worried all DAY....... ... then he can take the hoody off...... ..... you get any pictures of your box of fish ??? That X-4 deal sucked big time hope you can get it repaired......
-
Thanks Sk8man Good luck to you and your's also......... Andy thanks for the ride today had a good time even if Ole Kinger boy didn't mine his manners ( sorry about that )........Nice box of fish anyway !!!!!!!
-
Sk8man good to see someone get back to helping with the problem he has know.......Andy I'm at camp now with the dog...... Sk8man makes a good point and that was one of the reason I went with HB a few years ago...... http://www.humminbird.com/ regester your unit on the site and then check to see if they have any updates to down load for your unit.....if so put in a blank sd card down load it , put your unit back to factory setting and put the sd card in.....updated....... now HB has sh*t for bottom line transducer and if you find out you need a new one upgrade to the quad 4 transducer ......
-
I'll be up in a day or two you free ???

Launched at Lodi a tad after 7...... checked temps around point both sides (46* ) was going to work south on this side BUT I heard the west side calling me so over I went......... about 45* over there set up just north of showboat trolling north...... two rods in and messed with the new cannon wire ( seems like these new heads lets the wire jump off the spool at the end of the rigger ) anyway got it back on and just started to let line out on the rod..........middle rigger down 17' throbbing popped it loose reel up and had a fish on , took step back to mark on GPS and its running up had it for about three or four more craks and gone.....think it was a bow or landlock the way it headed to the top........put rods back in turned and trolled back thru ...... nothing.............that was it....skunk-o-ro......... did fine some warmer water above Long Point 48-49 and when I ran back across also found 48 -49 * on the east side way north of Lodi.............. not sure my radio works put new mount and antenna on...... found a bad wire yesterday that I fixed and didn't get out ( no power to every thing at the CC , so with out bildge pump I didn't go out )
-
What kind were they ? could be post spawn
-
Looks like shake down will be later this afternoon and if weather is good will try again Monday morning........ anyone have a idea where to start out of Lodi ??/ Thanks

On Seneca IMHO when the lamperys get in high numbers the first to get wacked is the browns ....... but with the good stocking program and great growth rates they can bounce back in three years ( need more time for the hogs ) but should have some nice 3# to 5#ers in the mix......... not sure how this would relate to Cayuga ..... and it's just MY opinion !!!!!
