Well I still have the boat in the barn down here did open camp on the 13th every thing went fine BUT one thing........hope to take boat up soon (4/23/2013)

Take the the time and post one of your outing on what your tryed and how you ran your spread. Some times people can help you out with a small peice you may be missing................Istarted with a 80hp Merc and got fish trolling with it.....was real hard to just bump it up a tad...... if you feel it the nosie try dipsys or increase your leads ( I run long leads on riggers and spoons most of the time anyway........... for sure follow what Sk8man layed out above.......looking back on bad days can help you see what else you may want to try............good luck

Short 1 and 2 color leadcore with loop to loop connections?

I have a three color and a 6 color like above BUT , I do see where your idea could work well if the loops would wind back on the reel with out any issues......if room was a issue for me I could see trying your idea but I can store 10 rigged rods easly now..... -
Yes I trailer with it DOWN now.....sorry was not clear on that point. I was trying to say what happened to me when I didn't trailer with it down..........

That's the same as mine Jeff.

I locked mine out in the full up position while trailerling the short distance from camp to lake save a little time...... cost over $600.00 in repairs..... I don't save a little time anymore......

Cold Weather Boaters Anyone underway in a boat less than 21 feet in length anytime between November 1 and May 1 must wear a securely fastened life jacket. This in-cludes canoes, kayaks, rowboats and motorboats Commercial vessels are exempt. NYS Nav. Law Section 40.1(e). Youths Under 12 Any youth under the age of 12 on boats 65 feet or less in length must wear a securely fastened U.S. Coast Guard approved personal floatation device of appropriate size. It does not apply if the youth is in a full en-closed cabin. NYS Nav. Law Section 40.1(d).

What type of grease should i use? Steering component.

I'm replacing my steering now and would recomend if you can remove the steering rod from the tube. Clean off both the rod and the inside of the the tube. I'm using a section from a shot gun cleaning kit and a drill for the inside part. Then lube inside place rod back in lube with grease gun then tighten every thing back up.........lot more work BUT ...... -

The pc board , and the downrigger wire make this work....... the downrigger wire HAS to be grounded against the steel shaft running thru the spool of the downrigger........when the wir is put on that's done...... if you run a most of the wire off the spool you will see the access to the shaft............ -
You will have to hold the toggle switch in the up position to bring ball up. Have you removed the side cover off the unit yet ? If so can you get a good look at the pc board , if has letters on it I have coded mine for the wiring and made my own diagram....... if it's the same I'll send you the diagram. I also thing I have one from the short encased board around some place in the barn.....will take a look in a day or so and let you know......... you also can wire it up without the pc board plugged i using a 4 prong toggle switch to figure out where the + - wire hook to make the motor run in right direction....... even then you should beable to tell anyway as long as wires inside the unit are still hooked up by color.

I went thru this with my 788ci , you will need to change some setting. Go into advanced mode and change from fresh to salt water. Take a look back at my post and you will find a detailed plan of what I had to do to fix it. Also it could be the transder going BAD if the color is starting to fade some.
