  1. Do it , Jason told me the same thing ever since I cut the gills put them in the livewell in water , then on ice...... One more to try is : Ken's Steak House Vidalia Onion Dressing , put it on the laketrout filte 15 to 20 minutes then on the grill MMMmmmmm !!!!! If you like deep fryed fish I have a good one for laketrout also.......
  2. I had heard from a buddy back in the early 80's that a buddy of his had killed one (coyote) with a ear tag..........phone # was Wis. , he called and Pa. made a trade for coyotes and gave them some of our turkeys........... I just got a e-mail from that OLE buddy a day or so ago and we are going to have a BS meet...... I plan on asking him about it again and make a copy of the below for him.............
  3. TTT This is where , (if ya didn't like what they were going to do) e-mails , letters should have been sent. I see no reason for them to make a change AGAIN till they get info back to how this change has help or MADE thing worst........ as far as 1 fish goes if ya box one and are worried about killing a bow , move , fish for lakers stop fishing.....the law is here now................sorry for the rant and I understand how some feel I fish alone 25% of the time and often have stopped fishing because I had a limit and didn't want to have to turn a HURT fish back do what you feel is best for you and the fishery.......... bought a bogo-grip so I did MORE CPR this year than before ............ next time you see a post like this , take the time to let the DEC know how you feel and what you think BEFORE they go thru all that has to be done to change a reg.
  4. Nick are you dead on on this "new" strain ....... that just sucks , I didn't agree with this when they were talking about it and would have been louder if I knew they were going to put in a new strain. I did write and send a e-mail they were looking for input , against this .....I said if it was so bad they were going from 5 to 1 fish they should just colse the stream spawning areas or shut down the small tribs one or two each year or put money into one and close it ALL the time upgrade the spawning area............. this stocking fish in a stream is a BAD thing....... they have found that out in Pa. a long time ago........only so many places for fish to hide behind a rock or where ever put the NEW guys in in force and the chase the natural re-pro ones out and some end belly up trying to keep there spot........ I keep my share of Atlantics. Better off getting them in the lake because by the time they run the creek, they are snagged up, litterally That is just wrong what are the DEC guys doing when this is going on................
  5. I had a lot of problems with my units that most were worked out by the time Alec fished with me. + on the HB 798 hd si I have I think the bottom hugging lakes show up way better than on the HB 788CI I have. - the transducer that came with both units are JUNK......don't put it on if you buy one contact HB and up grade to the QUADBEAM..........but if one of mine go bad again I'm going to put a Amir on it that I hear about on this site. The GPS system is ???? ( with the Nav. Hot Map p ) off WHY I don't know had so many problems working out the fishfinder that I have NOT address this issue yet.......... If it work great with the zoom in deal ( 10' I think) would be great for jigging and perch fishing...... Do I like these unit......YES .......color is great never had it before and in full sun I can read it from the back of the boat. The C.S> is great...I had 2 788ci sent one back for repair they super glued the broken part back in post here about that, HB C.S. rep PM me and I ended up with a new in the box 798HDSI... when I had problems with reading or setting HB was usless guy on here that have HB units help me out BIG TIME.................

I mean TELL her to get the rod up and FISH OFF......... the rain hits us then so I put the doghouse up in the front of the boat.....never had it up all season............we troll north to south of boyscout camp turn and head out deeper on the way back and pick up a rainbow 16" and that was it.................. I don't know Nick been over that way but more south and slim picking on that side this year for some reason..............the area you're talking about had lakers deep over there a few weeks ago.............

Seneca 9/28/2012 ......back in camp boat uncovered , ice- in cooler coffee made.....and it started to rain.......son and grandaughter here ......she has not been out since she boated that 8.5# brown this spring......will be heading out soon I hope it the rain stops long enough for me to suck them into hitting the water ......
  15. .......didn't fish but put it back in fast................no tie when this happen either.....
  16. I don't know what happen to it but that hump is more than shows on the picture............. Tie is now in south cental Pa. for this month........
  17. They are GREAT for light line and spoons , one broke on me I have not done anything about it yet........ if you are running dodger/flasher flys rigs the one's I have don't have enought back-bone for a good hook set.....IMHO !!!!!
  18. Kinger and I got out with Merlin (Ed) from the NAFC today about 8ish……….we went 7 for 8 with a grand slam BUT only two were legal size………3 bows , 2 landlocks a brown and a laker…………. We had a good bite going then the wind switched and came out of the west and my Ole tin-lizzy kinda slipps and I get a bad cable angle so………….we went over to the west side much better but only did a laker in 3miles……….. this rainbow went 6.5# big head and a humpback ......we put ALL fish back today and the BOGO grip did a fine job on the bow , we just released the rest in the water being we were not taking any pictures of them........ better angle for the humpback........
  19. Thanks everyone tight lines and screaming drags to you all..................
  20. Seneca 9-10 Pete ( from the NAFC ) and I got out this morning in VERY lumpy water picked up three small browns and lost two or three ??? whatevers.................Kinger boy ( the dog ) I think got seasick he don't like ruff water......LOL.......we came back in and got a GOOD meal , pork tender loin steaks , some of Pete famous apple sausage and Carols pasta salad.............he went down for a nappy and I just tore the AP off the steering it was getting too hard to steer had a heck of a time bringing it back in today going into heavy wind with waves 3 to 4 feet getting TWO 4'ers back to back and a small hole to steer thru that half the time I would miss because of the steering anyway it's still not a 100% but 65% better than it was..................... Seneca 9-12 Pete and Tom ( from Wisconsin ) were running around today looking for some GOOD wine and grape pie's.........they found the wine................then Tom , Hoot , Kinger and I got out about 3ish and fished till 8ish went 2 for three one small laker and this 22" Tom got Pete was back at camp taking a Nappie !!!!......... 9-13 Hoot , Tom and I got back out today............ran up to where Tom lost that good one yesterday and it PAID off............... we went 2 for three with this HOG brown making the MEET for Tom , Hoot and myself....... 7 pound 8 oz brown 23.24 " 9-14 Hoot and I got out today went 7 for 7 , 5 rainbows , 1 small laker and a small brown……….boxed 4 bows 17†, 18†, 20 “ and 24.25†6# 3oz……..
