1988 , 80hp , 2 stroke Mec Last fall and still this spring when I go to start it , it turns over like the battery is almost dead. About two short trys , then it turns it over fast and start after a bit……………..go out to where I want to fish , set up turn it off and use kicker…………….when done and ready to come back in starts fine……………any ideas ???? I have cleaned the leads on the side of the motor and at the battery (last fall will do it again )

Seneca 5/03/2012 Shake down Today was the day I got out on Seneca for the first time with Stan’s dog King. At the launch some time before noon 30 things went OK was not sure how King was going to act. He was first RATE from launch time , time on the water and again when we came in……….just like he been doing it for years….LOL……………most things went OK found a few things that need to be taken care of and ONE I still have not figured out……….when starting main motor , it sounds like the battery is almost dead , then it turns over fine. I cleaned up all the connections on the side of the motor , will have to go over the ones on the battery again and check the main ground wire……………..anyway didn’t do well with the fish but lucked out with a 18.5†pushing 4# brown and missed one……………………stayed close with how thick the fog was and first time out………..my wiring job on both of the riggers I put short stops on over the winter didn’t work right hope it’s just bad switches have new ones coming from fish307 …………switched the 788ci out to use as GPS and went with the 798 HD si……got both of them working good by the end of my outing……………..still have to look into why the Narvonic map is so far off…… got back in clean up fish came inside wash it up a tad more open cupboard up looking for BROWN sugar to coat trout ………NONE I left it home……..D.S. oh well I guess I’ll coat with breading and deep fry…………………….

That's a real good price for those rod holders , I have three used ones on my boat and they work great except for the ends coming off ( cheap glue I guess )...................anyway I'm not sure you would have full movement , looks like the Scotty profile of the motor is way wider than a Cannon rigger................that said IF a Scotty rigger can be mounted on a Cannon low or high profile swivel base then you could put the rod holder on with your Scotty's................not much help but !!!!!!

I worked in a paper mill and we used this product a lot for sealing main heads on chest walls , water pumps and many other things that need a new seal.................heads up there are at least two types one stays soft and the other gets hard as steel.............

....grass , weeds , fleas , a stop for a cheater..........

Do you have two riggers now or just the new one you dad bought you ??? In any case it's still a GOOD back up if one goes down for any reason...........and if the board fails all togather for a $12.00 part you would be back on the water with it and if you want the short stop that would be another $75.00............cheap enough for a back up or full time rigger !!!

Nice pictures ....................I had a woodchuck problem around the house a few years ago and got busy when I dropped one with the .17 ( boy those thing hit hard for there size) anywho the next day the turkey vultures were all over it the next day............sooooooooooo I would pop them and leave them till they got done then just pick up some fur and a few bones for the headge row............one day I had the same thing as you going on didn't get any close pictures of the eagle but did on the turkey vultures..............I'll take a look see and post some up............. Two eagles came in ....... didn't get any good pictures of the two togather........... I love this one..... chow time for the turkey vultures....... waiting for more..... close up of the ugly bugger............

........back in camp.............warmer outside than inside........50* inside 52* out..........some small damge here and there on the way up and in camp. Small limbs broke off here and there cover on boat streached out with a puddle of water ....OK now............see how things look in the am and hope to wet a line..........

I never had very good luck with "moore" cable , did better with some from McMaster coated...............

Seneca 4-15,16, 19,20,21- 2012 Open camp up on the 15 saw some guys getting bullheads on the south-end of the lake on the way up. Fridge motor froze up scaring the heck out of us when it started smoking. Pulled it out and put on the porch went to Lowes and order a “new†one. Other than that opening up went fair grass mowed and most stuff in place ready for the year ahead……………back to Pa. for a few days , we had some concrete done and grass needed a second cutting down there………………back up late on the 19th boat with us this time………….phone line not working and Lowes coming on the 20th so that day was shot for fishing with the phone guy coming also. Got up this morning thinking about hitting the water had a extra cup of coffee and could see the rain coming across the lake. We got the cover on the boat before it was raining to hard……………..packing up and heading back to Pa. for a few more days will be back up later next week……..THEN I will get out for the first time this year……..wawawa !!!!!! .......

Mine would idle fine also and would run at idle in gear then stall when I went to throlle up..............sorry it didn't help you any.........

....stalls as soon as you put it in gear............or as you try to throttle up ?.........if as you try to throttle up have someone pump the primer-ball......if it works Ok/fair/better I would get the fuel-pump rebuilt.....E-10 weak'ns the diapharm a lot sooner than it would normaly....... happen to me with a 1988 Mec........good luck.....

Nice job , !!! Maybe I'll see you at camp some time after the 15th...........you will have to make your own mind up about posting info on here and just get LOOKER'S. I'm still not sure what I'll be doing this year about reports.........good luck !!!!!!!!!
