  1. Bill thanks for sharing the info on the tubing but as you say pricing on bulk is an issue for the average guy installing his own pilot. Most outboard systems utilize the hoses in the system anyway and I use the hoses now to install from the pump to the ram in my inboard installs too. The HO51's are normally readily available in the any length you need at a reasonable price all made up. Good hearing from you Bill ! > How is lower De. treating you??
  2. The female side of the Teleflex fittings at the helm & cylinder are 3/8th compression as stated above, whether you use there high pressure tubing or premade hose. Hose #'s are HO51xx for the standard and HO57 for the Pro version XX being the length. The hose ends are designed with an o-ring seal to couple up with the 3/8 comp fitting & stand alone fittings are nonexistent to buy separately as Teleflex has rights to the design. If you use the high pressure Teleflex tubing you would use a standard compression ring fitting preferably with an insert. Either way the female side is the same with either hose or tubing. Hope that helps clear things up.
  3. There is no impeller in a bravo drive, if it is per say a bravo the impeller and sea water pump are mounted on the engine. If it's an Alpha I or Gen II then yes it should be in forward gear to pull.
  4. DEC Announces New Deer and Bear Hunting RegulationsThe New York State Department of Environmental Conservation sent this bulletin on 08/04/2016 04:53 PM EDT https://content.govdelivery.com/accounts/NYSDEC/bulletins/15abe10?reqfrom=share
  5. I would save myself some time and call them direct. Good people and you'll have your answer and/or probable cause. (218) 454-4760
  6. Good to hear you found the problems Bob. By the sounds of it that motor has been replaced at one time or another with an automotive replacement and/or parts. Original M/C would of had brass soft plugs & a stainless marine head gasket eliminating both problems you found. You don't see many of the older straight 6 160 & 165hp motors anymore but they were a great engine in there day & still are for that matter. Good luck with her.
  7. I would opt for condensation first with what you've said & the engine in question. Drain it well & if you have enough room to drain it out thru the pan all the better. Put a fresh filter & a good grade of straight HD30W oil in it & keep an eye on it.
  8. Velvet Drive made by Borg Warner & now owned by Regal-Beloit in S. Carolina
  9. Gear ratio is 1:98-1. It's an " R " style drive but an early Alpha 1 upper will work with the correct length input yoke as stated above, splines are the same. If I can help you out, pm me.
  10. They were/are a good unit. Unfortunately Raymarine no longer offers them & as of this spring had no intentions of producing them again.
  11. Simrad has come back with an AP24 cable steer version. The model number is: 000-10908-001

  13. I didn't realize you were unfamiliar with the boat and/or how the trim/tilt system works on a Mercruiser, Lively. The way it was worded I assumed this was a problem that had just occurred and you were asking why. Good to see your all set.
  14. If it works off the trailer there is nothing the matter with the solenoid. It's the same one for tilt or trailer
  15. Trim limit switch on the outdrive is bad and or not adjusted properly. Common on M/C & when it happens most just use the trailer button.
  16. If it's a Volvo or Later model OMC you will be ok, but replace it asap. Earlier Volvo covers are prone to loosening up if the lock tabs/bolts aren't tightened properly.
  17. Pull your installation manual out or pull it offline from the Simrad site & go thu the installation, commissioning & sea trial settings again. Should solve your problems.
