  1. Bob: Must of been too many brews last night. I don't see a thing cept what I see out the window..
  2. I just did my part. It covers about every aspect & if enough hunters take the time to send it in it might do some good.
  3. The prop shop in Sodus. Ask for Bill. Good work and reasonable prices. If you need a phn.# pm me.
  4. It's here: http://www.lakeontariounited.com/fishin ... php?t=3408
  5. Bill whats the matter with the radar you have? I rigged it when it was new and it has no time on it to speak of. If you do decide to go color let me kn as I would be interested in that one.
  6. I''ll 2nd that. If you want a quality mount that would be the place.
  7. Bitts: That motor was intended to be mixed 25:1 with the old type oil of it's day. With the new twc 2 stoke oils of today you will have no problem running it at the normal 50:1 ratio. IE:> 6 Gall gas To 16oz. oil
  8. Pull the intake hose turn pump on and run rv antifreeze thru it. You'll be good to go.
  9. Better and less expensive, (Depth Raider) Not to speak of the support if you do have a problem.
  10. Do yourself a favor and go with the sub troll or DEPTH RAIDER. I ran a F-H for over 15 years and after I switched I wouldn't go back.
  11. John: My 23 was outboards twin 115's and i never lacked for power. Cranked out about 45mph with a light load. When I was on the coast where you see a lot more of them we serviced a fair # with i/o's as well and most were powered with anywhere from 200 up to 260hp range from different manufacturers. It all seemed to depend on who made them the best deal for that model year what they put in them but none lacked for power. I wouldn't be afraid to put the 230 in it as I'm sure you'll have plenty of power. But if you have the carb and manifold and the engine is out go ahead and put the 4bl setup on it a little extra power won't hurt. As far as cams go what is in it now will work out fine and still keep your trolling speed and idle where you want it. I've got to see this boat when your done! They are a great hull and boat as well as bringing back a few memories.
  12. Tom has the top 10 in both the AM&Pro listed on his sight: http://www.atommiktrollingflies.com/reports1.htm Crazy Ray, Muskie, Tom & every one else I met from this board. It was good to put a face with a name. I'd like to have been a mouse on the Louser's boat just to watch the comedy. Well that and the observer. I tried to get Ray to trade off with ours for day 2 but he wanted no part of it. If the guy that walked up to me when we were bringing the cooler out after Sundays weigh in is from this board please let me kn. I never did get to talk to him, hands were full of slime I turned around to wipe em off and he was gone.
  13. From the Syracuse paper this morning: http://www.syracuse.com/articles/outdoo ... xml&coll=1
  14. Rusty: By metal they are referring to a steel hulled boat. You can mount the compass in the normal position that is recommended for a standard glass hull. Not sure if you have rack & pinion steering or rotary. If it' rack style you will have to replace the cable with a teleflex style rotary cable. Hope this helps:
  15. Rusty: They really arnt that hard to install just intimidating when you open the box. Have any problems or questions pm me or give a call. I've installed a few here at the shop and they seem to be a good unit compered to the old sport pilot.
  16. bosco: That's what I was gettin at.
  17. A 488 is basically the same engine as a 470, 165,170 etc. . They were made by mercury. Block was merc. design aluminum block with a ford cyld head. 4 cyld closed system cooling. They had there share of problems. If you got a good one your good ta go. If not nothing but trouble. If per say the engine is bad as it sounds like, best to replace it with a 3.0 (140) or something else that is reasonable to fit.
  18. You guys are missing it. Jig fish or drift with light tackle and there a lot of fun not to speak of good table fair. Not the same as yanking bass off the beds or out of weed beds with heavy rods and line.
  19. Not knowing the unit or settings. Looks like bait to me.
