  2. WTG Dave. Nice Small mouth. You did better than a lot of guys on their first time out. Tom B. (LongLine)
  3. Dave, I wish there was a really dependable weather predicition site. I generally look at a bunch of different sites then "the best out of three wins". I don't fish your area but if I did I would look at this site. http://www.weather.gov/forecasts/wfo/se ... neWeek.php Click on "more" then look at wind speed & direction. You can figure that SW winds will make that area pretty bumpy. I'd also suggest getting out real early as that's the time for the calmest water. Also you may want to do a search: "Henderson Harbor weather." I think abc has an hour by hour update. Good luck, Tom B. (LongLine)
  4. Mark - WTG. I thought about heading out a little but CG convinced me not to, so I circled the other way, toward the dredge. Kind of bumpy out there huh? How late were you out? Tom B. (LongLine)
  5. Thanx, 3 to 5 ft'rs tomorrow. Guess I'll sleep in then go look for a new camera. Good luck. Tom B. (LongLine)
  6. Jim, Definitely slow ride when you're heading into white water coming from I-Bay direction. What did water temps look like out there? Tom B. (LongLine)
  7. Launched early. Straight off the river. Heavy clouds. Strong ESE wind. Decent thermal change at 75-90FOW. (51F to 46F) Anyways, 1 Laker (13#) then 1 King (15#). Both 30 down over 90FOW. Both on Purple spooks. (NK) roughly 40 ft back. Laker clean, Salmon scarred. Sorry, no pics. Camera shot. Called it quits shortly after CG put up wind advisory. (9:30 or so) Wanted to get boat out & covered before rain hit. Poured right after I backed into diveway & got soaked anyway. Bright & sunny right now...figure There were a few boats out but guess they went deep fairly early. One guy at launch said he got 1 towards Bradocks. No details. County has an attendant on duty at launch now. No more freebies. $8.00 fee or $100 for the season. Luck to all, Tom B. (LongLine)
  8. Happy Birthday Chad, Tom B. (LongLine)
  9. Nice fish. It always a great feeling to catch something on gear you made. Tom B. (LongLine)
  10. JayVee's on Norton street should be able to handle it. If you want to tackle (pun) it yourself, this guy does an excellent job of explaining repair of the 320, with photos. http://www.stripersonline.com/surftalk/ ... p?t=626165 Tom B. (LongLine)
  11. ...Genny going to get dredged. http://www.democratandchronicle.com/art ... bor+begins Tom B. (LongLine)
  12. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong (probably am) but that looks like about 150 Yds east of summerville and only runs 2/3 the way to Russell, from the shore out to about 22 FOW. Maybe I need new reading glasses. Tom B. (LongLine) p.s. where they going to put 100k people?
  13. Ditto what FX said. Nice to know there are some "adult" fish out there. Tom B. (LongLine) just playing stan.
  14. Here's a 21 gun salute for the city & county: I'll never understand why the city & county want to use the port for everything other than fishing. Tom B. (LongLine)
  15. Welcome to the site. Please do some research on those clarkspoons. There are regulations about hooks on Lake Ontario. Hooks, attaced to lures, except on flies & jigs, have to be free-swinging. I'm not sure how or if it applies on the Finger Lakes though. Tom B. (LongLine)

  17. Welcome to the site jim. There's a pretty neat one in the pro map section that can overlay the charts on top of the real lake contour. Otherwise noaa has an on line viewer that is printable, here. (use controls at bottom to move around & zoom in) http://www.charts.noaa.gov/OnLineViewer/14805.shtml Good luck (& send the fish east, ok?) Tom B. (LongLine)
  18. No idea on the Charlotte side but this one has the summerville side. http://www.frontiernet.net/~markvii/PYC/weather.htm Tom B. (LongLine)
  19. Try this one. Scroll down & click on the different choices. IE wind speed, temp etc. Hit arrows to advance 3, 6, 9 hours etc. http://www.crh.noaa.gov/greatlakes/?c=map&l=lo&p=a Central lake buoys are out in middle of lake & really don't help the near shore guy other than for approaching patterns. (however the barometer is a great feature) Tom B. (LongLine)
  20. Sorry to hear of your loss. Tom B. (LongLine)
  21. Hey I spelled it right thes time. Launched at 6. Cruised up to Russell then worked the area up to Long Pond & back. SSW wind. Faint chop. Surface off the ponds 46F. Warmer deeper. 1 little Stlhd 10 down over 30, R&R spoon Blk/Silver/purple/glow. Lots of those birds/ducks 45-60 FOW (the ones that flat their wings at 90 mph & go nowhere.) + a few of the black diving ones. (loons) Anyways picked up this little porker at 35 over 52 same lure. Strong down current going east. Beautiful morning on the water. Wind shift & picked up about 10:30. Off at 11. Both fish clean, no lamprey marks. Don’t forget to report your fish to the lamprey hunter. http://www.glfc.org/sealamp/lampreyhunt ... nvader.htm Luck to all, Tom B. (LongLine)
  22. Push the hose way into the tank. Use the palm of your hand to close off the open end, then pull the hose out. DON'T suck on it to get it flowing!!!! (especially if you smoke) Tom B. (LongLine)
  23. KG - I agree that Maxima is awesome but man is it expensive. Not many stores around here carry it any more. Tom B. (LongLine)
  24. The problem with the internet is that your can't see the expression of the one who is writing. I.E. It's awful easy to take something the wrong way & get riled. Anyways. Honey bees have been a Go-To lure for a lot of years. Unique wobble, especially the Medium #2's. CF - How's the fishing on Lake C? I heard they got a pretty good lamprey problem. Any truth to that? Tom B. (LongLine)
  25. Hopefully they won't enforce it or check like the Sheriff's do some of their road checks. I.E. "just park ahead of that guy & we get to you shortly." Tom B. (LongLine)
