  1. Fishstix - Those are classic. Especially the OnStar. LMAO Tom B. (LongLine)
  2. Hey guys, lots of hits - only a few opinions. I know my photographic skills aren’t very good so here’s a basic description: (the “akaâ€Â
  3. We all know the old adage: “Bright day – Bright lures; dark day – dark luresâ€Â
  4. Mick – Plug companies probably agree with the “dark side always upâ€Â
  5. Well the previous trolling question did receive some interesting replies so I decided to investigate it further. I’ve had to do a lot of late night research in order to answer this simple albeit perplexing question and I going to spare you guys the hours and hours of internet searching that I undertook and reveal that which I found out: RE: First of all we have to gain an understanding of the situation as viewed from the fish’s point of view. Kind of like putting yourself “in someone’s else’s shoesâ€Â
  6. B.W. & Billy V. Congratulations on your gain. B.W. - Possibly see you on the river sometime. One Rochester/YT tip though, if Billy left any of those "Haberninski" lures under the seats, Throw them overboard :!:  Tom B. (LongLine) p.s. just teasing. There actually a very good lure.
  7. Hank - 2007 minus 1952 = 55. What's ya do with the 1? Add it the weight of that last P.B. perch?????? YT - 27? with a lake boat, bass boat & a saltwater rig :?: :?: Man, am I in the wrong occupation :!:  Tom B. (LongLine)
  8. Hey Skein'r - who you trying to kid? Semper Fi Tom B. (LongLine)
  9. Okay enough of the Bull, This is a serious question, but it might get some interesting replies (if any) The situation: You out solo, in the middle of June; off the Genny; 9:30 AM; slight breeze out of the west; mostly sunny; you’re going to troll towards Braddocks at about 60-70FOW in slightly stained water at 2.2 mph at the ball; (only speed you got) you only have these two lures and because you left your dipseys home, you’ve only got your 2 riggers which give you about an 8 Ft spread. The question: Which lure do you put on the starboard side & which on the port side? And why :?: (Lures are Blk & Silvr - ignore the teal dots, they're just refracto-illuminescence (sp) from the angle of the camera lens.) Think about it... Tom B. (LongLine)
  10. Stix - That YT's truck :?: :?: :?: Tom B. (LongLine)
  11. Santa gave me this book. It has every lake, stream, permanent puddle etc in NY. http://www.sportsmansconnection.com/newyork/ I did a search for retailers in the Rochester area & it looks like about 40 places carry it around here. They also have it on-line. As far as shoreline maps go look back a few pages & you'll find links to gov't nautical maps that are really good. Tom B. (LongLine)
  12. Saw something like that 35 yrs ago in a funiture store but wife got huffy when I tried to buy it for the kids crib. Tom B. (LongLine)
  13. Fishstix Next time I see this guy taking up 14 parking spaces at the launch, I'll ask him where he got it. Tom B. (LongLine)
  14. Outboard vs straight inboard, I don’t know. But I’ve owned both I/O (Mercruiser) & outboard (Evinrude & Merc’). I'd go back to an I/O but ONLY if someone gave it to me AND my current 22 yr old 2-stroker fell off my transom in 300 FOW. (maybe over 280) Knock on wood, the only thing I’ve had to do to it was replace two tilt modules plus the normal maintenance. I.E lower unit lube, plugs, occasional fuse. You do have to watch you’re oil mix with a 2-stroker though. 50-1 is too rich for a lot of idling & will foul you plugs after a few weekends. Of course they don’t make things like they used to anymore, with the new technology out there, who knows? Come on Spring, This shoveling s()cks. Tom B. (LongLine)
  15. Kappy - they merged with anglingfanatics Tom B. (LongLine)

  17. Tom Pitsford Lumber in Schoen Place (Pittsford off Monroe Ave) has every type of wood you could imagine and will cut and plane it to what ever you want. Hardwoods, softwoods, exotics, "weird" stuff. Little pricey but if you don't have a wood working shop in the basement, well worth it. Tom B. (LongLine)
  18. NYF - BlueEye hit it. His computer "blew its cookies." I had same problem initially then my son set browser to not auto-blow them away. Guessing a paper bag under the keyboard might help. Tom B. (LongLine) "Blowing cookies" - "Calling Ralph" what's the difference...
  19. Rok'n Tro-Lure Rah-Kin Tro-Lure :?: :?: Tom B. (LongLine)
  20. Turp, Drums in I-Bay get huge & there's quite a few of them. Especially around the big bridge & E side. Tom B. (LongLine)
  21. That's better than "Trolling Rock". Give us some detail. size, type of boat, Where you fish out of, favorite specie, etc... "Rock-it Troller"? naah, that's YT's bass boat. Tom B. (LongLine)
  22. I listen to the downriggers humming  Tom B. (LongLine)
  23. I agree with Iceman & YT. Black's for me. I put a post up back there someplace on how to rig them on a coated Sub-T cable. I have some pinch pad type releases that I use for a stacker on the coated cable but they're a pain to remove if you have a fish on the lower one and are trying to clear the rigger, especially if you're out solo. Tom B. (LongLine)
  24. Mother Nature might have the food web solution if she’d restrict the invasives to this diet and not allow the natives to partake of it. oh well, dream on… Tom B. (LongLine)
  25. Here's something to read & smile about from Leeroy Wisner. I'm sure a lot of us have seen some of them. http://www.wisnersinc.com/Fishing%20Inf ... ations.htm Tom B. (LongLine)
