Try a MUP rig. Mag spoon or Slvr flasher high with a fly behind it with a short lead. Run it 10 ft back. Run a clean matching spoon 10 below it and 10 ft behind it. Down speed 2.5. (GPS 3-3.2). Start about 35 ft down. 15-20 min, change your depth.

Definitely bait. Dredge dumping east of river. Mud/slit would have shown black like rest of bottom.

So there I am on Saturday morning, clean screen for the last 3 trips but then I see this: . What the Heck? It’s almost 30 high & 50 ft across!!!! . Sunken boat? . Monstrous pile of seaweed? . Stack of Quagga mussels? . Go a little further: . . Hmmm….. . Headed further west: Probably saw 15 more. I haven’t seen this much in years! Wow! And hugging the bottom! . . Anyways, launched at 5:30. All 4 ramps open now. Love this scene: . Got past the dredge & headed out: Great day to get cooked out on the water. Just like a mill pond as far as you could see. Surface running 60-62F, dropped to 59 then back up again. Put in at 90, went to 160 & back in. Lots of activity on the scene, but all on the bottom. Took 2 steelhead on riggr’s running mupped bloody Blk & Silver, 35 ft down over 120-130. Off at 10:00, got warm out there. They’ve installed a “drop box†at the launch & they put a reminder on your vehicle to fill out card & pay. ($8.00) Maybe they’ll fix that dam rut! All of 6 boats in the new marina. You can use straps but be sure they don't slip.

Try 10-2-15: FF on top, 10 to 15 ft back. Spoon on bottom 10 to 15 ft back. And 10 to 15 ft between them. Try to keep 10 to 15 ft between rod tips (min)

Get yourself a good map of the shoreline and keep an eye out for bars and obstructions. Even small boats don't like rocks. I'd suggest you get a set of planner boards and stay in 10 FOW min until you know the areas. Tom B. (LongLine)
