  1. Phil wanted to get back in that hole so quick he bit the mayor's ear!
  2. I like Marciano followed by Dave C. I'd like to have just the money they have tied up in those reels, much less the boats. Did you know that Dave (dot com) is a commercial airlines pilot? Tom B. (LongLine)
  3. The way I tune a stick is to tie it on the line; let out 6-8 ft of line. Put it on the port side of the boat and look at it. Then put it on the starboard side. If it looks the same on both sides, you're ready to go. It not then tweak the eyelet. Sometimes 1 hit can knock it out of whack. Tom B. (LongLine)
  4. A tight knot like a palomar or clinch will take some action out of the plug. A loop knot will allow it to swing as it's tuned. Tom B. (LongLine)
  5. You don't need a parachute to skydive...only if you want to do it again.
  6. Elongated weights such as fish shaped "Herbies" or torpedoes provide less blowback than the same weight ball shapes as they have less surface area up front, hence less resistance due to friction up front. Tom B. (LongLine)
  7. I don't know how you get they're too liberal...too hard to find any news among all the ads. They could probably have gotten last Sunday's issue onto 1 1/2 pages if it wasn't for the ads. Tom B. (LongLine)
  8. I don't care who wins the Super Bowl as long as Seattle loses. Here's an idea... how about they let Lynch play with the balls before the game...then maybe he won't play with his during the game.
  9. Someone may argue this point as most footballs are elastic. i.e. rubber liner inside a leather "shell" - both of which can stretch. (unless you allow some bricks that were thrown in the playoffs)
  10. It'll be good to see another Bluefin at the Genny. Mine's 18 ft. Weather permitting & the launch has been cleared, end of March should do the trick.. Make sure you watch out for debris in the fast current. Tom B. (LongLine)
  11. I've never seen a game where a ref doesn't handle the ball before every play. In fact it's the same ref that spots the ball on the line of scrimmage regardless of who has possession. The ref couldn't tell after the first exchange of possession? Maybe football refs could learn something from baseball umps. The umps are very conscious of the ball. Tom B. (LongLine)
  12. At least they didn't stand in the endzone playing with theirs like Lynch did.... On the other hand the balls were inspected during halftime by the refs. Why not caught then? or were they caught then, thus they whomped the colts in the 2nd half with properly inflated ones? Each team is supposed to play with their own so do they kick off with their own or do they use the receiving teams ball? If they kick with their own, why didn't the colt kickoff receiver notice anything? If they kick with the other teams ball, why didn't the Colt kicker notice it? Kind of makes you think a little. 13. It all depends on the snap you're using. If they're well rounded then no ring necessary. If you're using small somewhat pointed snaps then yes put a ring on your spoons. Tom B. (LongLine)
  14. Congratulations to you and momma. Hope she's doing well. Tom B. (LongLine)
  15. I would think the logical thing to do if the alewife population is dwindling is to raise the salmon limit. (?) But that is not spelled out. Tom B. (LongLine)
  16. I carry 3 Heartlands 8s and a Shimano 7. Each with a Penn 320GT2. That's more than enough for me. (I don't run lead or copper) Tom B. (LongLine)

  18. You're right Yank...those are obscene...WTG! Tom B. (LongLine)
  19. IMO, there's some reasons big Browns got that way. They're very wary; they don't like daylight; they prefer small fish over bugs; they're more territorial than other salmonids; some spawn in the lake. Tom B. (LongLine)
  20. Way to Go!!!! Tom B. (LongLine) ps - I hope you only took your lifejacket off for the photos.
  21. The City will have their parking machine there come April, but best to buy a season pass from Parks & Recreation. And yes it is a deep water launch. I've seen 35 ft'rs pulled out with some big rigs. Tom B. (LongLine)
  22. New docks at the Genny look great. Also expanded parking; new road finished. Accessible from the old Stutson st. Tom B. (LongLine)
  23. You got it. Tom B. (LongLine)
