  1. Welcome to the site. Tom B. (LongLine)
  2. Welcome to the site & welcome back. Tom B. (LongLine)
  3. Checked for more stuff than our local CG normally does. Also took my brothers license & registration into their cabin for a good 5-7 minutes. Know dang well they were running him thru their scanner/background/criminal record stuff. Tom B. (LongLine)
  4. If your motoring thru Canuck water, their peoples can stop & inspect you. Been there, done that & had that done to us this last summer up in Chippewa area Tom B. (LongLine)
  5. I also agree with YT. Some will side step the issue with "what about..." The issue is whether trout eggs should be legal, period. I agree, ban them. Tom B. (LongLine)
  6. Start out with NK28 size spoons. Northern King, Dreamweavers, Stingers are in just about everyone's arsenal. Greens, Silvers, Oranges and Glows. Adjust your boat speed so you get a good "wobble." Tom B. (LongLine)
  7. You can use wing-nuts just as long as you use something a lot more than your fingers to tighten them. Tom B. (LongLine)
  8. Don't forget to register your trailer. Can be done online at NYS DMV site or go to local office. If at local office, your town gets to keep a buck or two on it. Tom B. (LongLine)
  9. Go to a craft store (like micheals) and get a bottle of "Un-do". It's for removing stickers. Works great and won't mess up plated or painted lure surfaces. Tom B. (LongLine)
  10. Welcome to the site, Tom B. (LongLine)
  11. The one with the green tape is a pine valley. I've got a couple. Haven't seen them around in a long time. Tom B. (LongLine)
  12. Clocks moved ahead but spring was pushed back a couple months.... Tom B. (LongLine)
  13. Fish have more cones in their eyes than humans do. The cones are what allows animals to distinguish color. Fish can see well into the ultraviolet range and somewhat into the infra-red. Which is why they can distinguish red well deeper than fishermen give them credit for. How far down they can see gold is anyone's guess. I imagine gold just appears as a flash, just as the dress was to some of you guys. Who was looking at the dress anyways? Tom B. (LongLine)
  14. Phil wanted to get back in that hole so quick he bit the mayor's ear!
  15. I like Marciano followed by Dave C. I'd like to have just the money they have tied up in those reels, much less the boats. Did you know that Dave (dot com) is a commercial airlines pilot? Tom B. (LongLine)
  16. The way I tune a stick is to tie it on the line; let out 6-8 ft of line. Put it on the port side of the boat and look at it. Then put it on the starboard side. If it looks the same on both sides, you're ready to go. It not then tweak the eyelet. Sometimes 1 hit can knock it out of whack. Tom B. (LongLine)
  17. A tight knot like a palomar or clinch will take some action out of the plug. A loop knot will allow it to swing as it's tuned. Tom B. (LongLine)
  18. You don't need a parachute to skydive...only if you want to do it again.
  19. Elongated weights such as fish shaped "Herbies" or torpedoes provide less blowback than the same weight ball shapes as they have less surface area up front, hence less resistance due to friction up front. Tom B. (LongLine)
  20. I don't know how you get they're too liberal...too hard to find any news among all the ads. They could probably have gotten last Sunday's issue onto 1 1/2 pages if it wasn't for the ads. Tom B. (LongLine)
  21. I don't care who wins the Super Bowl as long as Seattle loses. Here's an idea... how about they let Lynch play with the balls before the game...then maybe he won't play with his during the game.
  22. Someone may argue this point as most footballs are elastic. i.e. rubber liner inside a leather "shell" - both of which can stretch. (unless you allow some bricks that were thrown in the playoffs)
  23. It'll be good to see another Bluefin at the Genny. Mine's 18 ft. Weather permitting & the launch has been cleared, end of March should do the trick.. Make sure you watch out for debris in the fast current. Tom B. (LongLine)
  24. I've never seen a game where a ref doesn't handle the ball before every play. In fact it's the same ref that spots the ball on the line of scrimmage regardless of who has possession. The ref couldn't tell after the first exchange of possession? Maybe football refs could learn something from baseball umps. The umps are very conscious of the ball. Tom B. (LongLine)
